About us

The Personal Concierge is a non-franchise, full service housekeeping company the bridges the gap between the “old school” housekeepers (Maids who worked exclusively with one family and knew their needs and wishes without having to be told or reminded.) and the big franchise companies that have a team of people (not always the same people) who swoop in and clean following fairly strict procedures of we do this and we don’t do that. Because every client has a different idea of what clean is and of what they want done. We assign one person to your home and that person gets to know exactly what you want. Our clients feel very comfortable and secure knowing that the cleaning will be performed by someone that they know and trust. And yes, we do windows, ovens, fridges, garages and organizational projects. We even have certified carpet techs that can clean your carpeting and people who can come out and power wash patios, sidewalks and driveways. All workers are paid as employees, meaning that our bonding and liability insurance covers them and their work. Clients are billed monthly with the invoice sent to their email address. Many pay by check, but most clients opt to go to our website and pay through our secure gateway using an e-check, visa or mastercard.

I purchased a pricey groupon for a 6 hour clean. I keep a meticulous home but had an executive wine tasting party to prepare for and didn't want to be cleaning as well. Called to schedule the clean for three days prior to event. 15 mins before they were to arrive the owner of the company called to cancel as the one girl scheduled to clean had an emergency. Was told she'd attempt to find a replacement for Fri, but couldn't guarantee. Aren't such companies suppose to have back up plans? She did call with plans for 2 workers to come out fri afternoon for 3 hours. The workers arrived 30 mins late-I walked them through my home and since my home was already clean I specifically told them I wanted them to concentrate on dusting all furniture including paneled doors and baseboards especially. I left the home so they could have full access without any encumbrances. I was texted that they were done about 25 minutes before the 3 hour clean duration and would be leaving. Did not surprise me that two workers could do the entire job in that time frame. Unfortunately upon returning to my home I found they had done a terrible job. They did not move or lift anything to dust-just dusted around objects and missed who pieces of furniture, including my dining room table. How do you not dust at least the top of a table? They also had twisted up my floor length window treatments and pulled them up-I'm guessing while cleaning the floor around them and they were left that way, leaving deep wrinkles in the silk that will have to be professionally steamed to remove. It's not like they ran out of time since they didn't stay the entire duration. I told the workers that the clean was for a special event and needed them to be detail oriented. Apparently they didn't understand the concept. So I had to run around last minute cleaning up what the missed! Very frustrating! I will never have this company in my home again and if you are reading this I strongly suggest you not either. They did clean some areas so I'm giving a D rating rather than the F that is warranted.

Sheryl, I believe the company's owner, came and explained the company to me and how payments work.  We chose a date for Dara to come clean.  Dara was chosen because she lived close to my home.  Dara arrived on time and worked the whole time she was there.  We hired her to only clean our kitchen and bathrooms.  They were spotless when she left.  Different than my previous company was payment.  Instead of leaving cash or a check, you are sent a bill which you can pay online.

I've known and used Sheryl Babladelis, The Personal Concierge, since 2003 for many services.  Most involved cleaning my condo while I was traveling (in 2004 for nearly a full year).  Sheryl's prices were modest, though they have recently risen, and Sheryl did a fine job cleaning, monitoring the condo for problems, picking up my mail, advising me of things that needed to be done.  Never were these suggestions so numerous or repetitive or trivial that I thought they were just an attempt to run up charges.  They were always reasonable, and I always found the house in good order when I returned.  
  Sheryl always gave me advance notice of her schedule and if she would be out of town for a few days, so I could plan accordingly.  
  I trusted her as well; she does have assistants who are also bonded, but for most jobs she chose to do the work herself or accompanying an assistant due to special concerns I had about some of the condo contents or challenges due to the size of the condo.   
  Also, when I had surgery, Sheryl drove me to and picked me up from the hospital after a two-night's stay.  She was reliable and stayed in touch throughout.
  I was happy to have had Sheryl available for so many years.  Her work and her responsibility saved me a lot of worry and money.

I've used the services of The Personal Concierge (Sheryl Babladelis, proprietor/owner) from approximately 2002--2013 at times when I was out of town.  I was actually out of the country for most of 2004, and moved out of town August 2012 (and did not close on sale of my Indy home until December, 2013--I did not visit the home in that interval).   So, Sheryl tended to my house for extended periods over many years.  (Note that I did not have pets, so I cannot attest to pet sitting or even if Sheryl does that service).
  During all those intervals (and especially for the prolonged periods mentioned), Sheryl checked on the house periodically, cleaned, collected mail, admitted contractors and stayed and supervised when they came to  service the heat pumps, water lines (for winterization), when they did various repairs and maintenance, etc. 
  Sheryl was prompt, efficient, and thorough.  She made a point of getting to know the neighbors which I welcomed for security reasons.  Sheryl kept me updated via email and sometimes by phone.  She made recommendations but they were always reasonable and never were they attempts to ramp up her monthly income from me.  
  In fact her charges for visits, cleaning, inspections, and supervision were also reasonable.   Her rates in approximately 2002 were $25 per visit, and a total of $46 per visit (itemized to travel charge and on site service) at the time my house was finally sold in 2013.   Sheryl was always clear about any logistical issues, for example she gave me advance notice about her availability (as when she had family responsibilities necessitating her going out of town).  She has assistants who can sub for her if the client agrees, but if she determines that there are special issues of security or cleaning that require her personal attention, she makes certain she is present to do the work herself and/ or supervise. 
   Sheryl was always responsive to my requests and suggestions.  For example, I wanted regular feedback and reports during my extended absences (not simply reports when there were problems), and Sheryl kindly obliged. 
   Sheryl provided references and she and her employees are bonded and I would advise prospective clients to satisfy themselves of that fact for anyone they employ for such work.  
  I am pleased to highly recommend Sheryl Babladelis, The Personal Concierge.

The Personal Concierge was great to work with.  I was on a bit of a time crunch - so Sheryl came out on a Friday evening (the only time that worked for me) to give me an estimate.  Kimberly came to clean the following Wednesday - and the house looked great.  Sheryl estimated 2-3 hours for our home (approx. 1700 square feet).  I like that they give a range, because then if something needs extra attention, they just do it! :)  The Personal Concierge sends you an invoice once a month, so you don't have to worry about remembering to leave a check, knowing exactly how much, etc.  They were recommended to me by a friend, and I was very pleased after our first cleaning.  I will definitely continue with the monthly cleanings (and maybe even talk my husband into agreeing to a more frequent cleaning schedule!)

Bought Groupon for 3 hours of housecleaning, worth $143 for $70. Team of One woman came an hour late because the previous house-cleaning job took longer. I gave my list of preference. On top were the 2.5 bathrooms that I have. Master bath is what was tackled first. It is 4 feet x8 feet with shower stall. It took her more 75 mins (1.5) hrs to clean that bathroom!!! So in 3 hours, my 2.5 bathrooms were cleaned (very good), floors mopped in family room and kitchen and counters wiped in kitchen. My regular cleaning service (team of 2) do the same quality of cleaning of the whole house in 2.5 hours.
I am going back to my regular cleaning service.

They were awful! The home is two stories and I do not even think that they went upstairs. Floors were not mopped, the entire second floor had not been vacuumed or dusted. I seriously think that they thought no one would check on them. This led to more work on our behalf to get the home ready for the buyers. Never use this company!

The owner gave me a good impression and overall good feeling that her team could achieve the job I wanted done. I had a small child and moving and caring for my son was all I could take on. I needed help cleaning to take some of the pressure off. My usual cleaning service could not squeeze me into the small time frame I had to complete the job. I booked this company with good intentions. Unfortunately, the work completed was poor. The team did not show up with a step stool or other minimum tools I would expect they would need. Afterwords, I was horrified, the job was pitiful. I am re-cleaning everything and it is taking much longer than I had wished because as a new mom, I just don't have the time. To top it all off, the bill arrived and they were charging me for 12 hours of work! There is no way 12 hours of cleaning was completed before I moved in. I discussed this with the owner, but got nowhere. My husband had to step in and we agreed to pay only what we thought was fair.

I have been very impressed with this company and the outstanding service it has provided. I have three children and I'm amazed at the difference in my home. The attention to detail is impeccable and has made my life so much easier. I am now more organized than ever before (with 3 children, that's a blessing)!!! IT'S HARD TO GET A THOROUGH CLEANING OUT OF THEM. THEY MAKE YOU GIVE THEM A "PRIORITY" LIST. YOU HAVE TO SPECIFICALLY ASK THEM TO DO NORMAL JOBS LIKE VACUUM AND SWEEP! THEY TEND TO CLEAN AROUND EVERYTHING AND NOT REALLY GET THINGS CLEANED! THERE WERE ONLY A FEW THINGS TO WHICH THEY PAID DETAIL ATTENTION. I COULDN'T GET THEM TO CLEAN A FULL HOUSE IN ONE CLEANING.

WHEN THEY WERE DONE, THE FRIDGE WAS STILL FULL OF DOG HAIR AND SPILLS, THE CABINETS HADN'T BEEN WIPED OUT, THE FLOOR WAS STILL DIRTY, THE SINK HARDWARE WAS COVERED WITH HARD WATER DEPOSITS, AND THE SHOWERS WERE STILL COVERED IN SOAP SCUM. THE TOILETS HADN'T BEEN CLEANED AT ALL. I DIDN'T ASK THE GIRLS TO REDO THE WORK BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO PAY FOR MORE TIME. THE NEXT DAY, I CALLED THE CONTACT AND TOLD HER WHAT HAPPENED, AND SHE CUT MY BILL BY 50%. I CLEANED THE HOUSE MYSELF AND GOT THE RESULTS I WANTED.
