I started Taylor Computer Solutions to provide the very best service at affordable rates to homes and businesses all around Indianapolis and surrounding counties. I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and have 4 years experience in computer repair and networks with the United States Marine Corps and I have always loved solving computer and network issues. I am able keep my rates low by running my business out of my home. I provide on site service so you don't have to deal with the hassle of moving your computer, waiting several days to have it returned to you and then having to re-set it up yourself. I was very pleased that Taylor Computer Solutions understood the issues of my old computer sytem along with not making me feel like a complete idiot for not understanding the problems. I woill definately ust Taylor Computer Solutions again if needed and I will refer them to other businesses as a quality vendor.
Description of Work: I explained my situation to Mr. Taylor in detail as best possible. We made an appointment for him to pick up my computer. When he arrived at my office, I did my best to show him the issues that I was having with an old, out of date computer. We discussed upgrades, repairs, and delivery time. After he was finished maKing the repairs and upgrading my system,. Mr. Taylor had my computer back to my office on time and inside budget.

Cameron took both hard drives home with him to recover data and fried one of them. Called to tell me this and offered no explanation or apology for the mishap. I purchased a brand new high end router and bridge from fryes that he could not get to work. I was instructed to return them and he would purchase what i needed. Cameron came back by a few days later to install new equipment and explaind how he configured them at home and would just be simple plug and play and every thing woould be fine. This was not the case he tried several times to get them to work before he was able to band aid them to communicate. This lasted about 45 days before equipment failure. Called Cameron he came out could not get them to work so he took both routers to send for repair put in a single used one to replace and I didnt hear from him until I contacted him 40 to 45 days later. He told me the router company had sent him to new routers a few days ago and he would come out and install them. The following evening he insatlled what I thought was two new routers and left my home around 7:30 pm they worked fine for 2 hours before failing again. I contacted him to explain that i was not happy with his service and wanted to return the 2 routers for my money back. I did not ask for full $500.00 back just what I paid for therouters which was around $200.00. He said he would not return my money and i could contact NetGear for warranty of the product. I tried doing this when I found out that the routers had no serial numbers and with out serial numbers and original purchase reciept there was nothing they could do. I called cameron to ask for reciept and original packaging so I could deal with the company to get my money back. Cameron explained to me that he did not have either and that things like this was why he hated doing business with people like me because I was always trying to get things for free. My reply was that I paid him $500.00 and didnt see how that was free. I again stated that i wanted a $200.00 refund in exchange for the routers that did not work did not have a serial number and did not have a reciept of purchase or i wolud be contacting BBB, Angies list and a lawyer. On may 10th I recieved and e mail telling me to call him by 12 noon on may 11th to setup meeting with a notary at his Mothers home that evening at which point I could give him the routers and and sign a form stating that i would not sue him and would not ever speak badly about his business. I didnt get the email untill 8:30 pm on may 11th so that option was not available even if i did agree to terms. So at this point im going along with what i told him in the first place. If you need basic software installation and cross your fingers data recovery then procede with caution and hope you dont have issues because this company will not treat you with respect and honor its own motto "IF WE DONT FIX IT YOU DONT PAY". They will not even give you products with serial numbers for warranty issues or a purchase reciept. If you need networking solutions or anything else that requires knowledge and training then dont bother because you will be back to where you started from in a matter of weeks with no hope for your money back.
Description of Work: Attempted to recover data from 2 hard drives. sold me on some software upgrades and attempted to install wireless network.

I successfully executed the data recovery for the member. He had two hard drives, in a computer that did not work, one of the drives contained no data, the other drive which had his data on it was successfully recovered. Additionally, I installed software for him, two new routers and networked them. I am not sure what he means by “band-aide”. After 45 days the customer contacted me stating the failure of the first new routers. I explicitly told him that I would try another solution, at my own expense, since the return policy for the product is for 30 days. The product was purchased from Amazon.com and I’ve attached Amazon’s Return Policy for Electronics. I did not say that the solution would involve new products. There were no serial numbers on the second two routers installed, as they were reconditioned However, I had agreed to replace the routers beyond the 30 days, in order to satisfy this customer and did not bill any additional charges for labor, installation, or the routers. . Please note, as per the customer, the product worked successfully for 45 days and I loaned him a router so he would not be without service while trying to resolve his issues. During the time between the first and second router installations I was hospitalized and had surgery twice for kidney stones. My illness was explained to him, on the delay of the second routers. He had no complaints while the loaner router was being used. The two reconditioned routers were installed and working when I left the customer's house. After the customer called stating they were no longer working, it was my assessment we needed to look at his modem as the cause of the router failure. I have installed hundreds of these routers and have never had an issue like this. As a note: The 1st routers that were sold to him have been successfully installed and have worked continuously at my home. He and his wife repeatedly called me and refused to allow me to look at his modem or to perform any diagnostics to help him in solving his issues... He demanded his money back and began issuing threats against me if I didn't give him a full refund. I did send him an email stating I would return his money for the routers if he would return the routers to me, as stated in his email, just to satisfy him, I have heard no response from him in regards to this email as of today, May 16th. As I originally stated to him, I do not keep the original packaging, as I have installed hundreds of new computers, routers, hard drives etc. and do not have the room to keep all packaging. I will take this as a lesson learned and will give the packaging to my customers to do with as they wish in the future. I do have the original receipt and I will provide him the receipt and the original routers, provided he returns the reconditioned routers to me in good condition. This should allow him to work directly with the manufacturer and will allow him to do so without me being involved, which he is obviously not interested in. I have many satisfied customers, and I take pride in my work, my integrity, and my ability to work with almost any customer to solve their problems. The install worked as it should have for the first 45 days, and I was told by him that he turned the power off to the house and that is when all of the issues started happening. PSS: I just received a complaint from him filed with the BBB with different facts stating that the routers supposedly broke 3 times during the 45 day time period that he clearly states in his Angie’s List report worked just fine for the first 45 days. He also states in his BBB complaint that it was $750 not $500 as stated in his Angie’s List report. I’m not sure why the “facts” he states keep changing.

He even cleaned some things on the computer to make it run better. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs their computer repaired. Job well done.
Description of Work: He replaced the computer screen on my laptop. He came out and got the computer, did the install, and I had it back that night.

Everything went well. The computer runs 3 times as fast as it did before and had it completed within 24 hours. Four days later my laptop monitor went out on the same computer and he came out, checked it out, took it back to his office, quoted, repaired, and returned within 4 hours at a fair price.
Description of Work: They performed computer repair service. Mr. Taylor was available that afternoon and came out and assessed my computer problems. He took it back to his office and responded back within 2 hours. He found and removed several viruses and put another anti-virus software on my computer, and updated computer programs and rebooted the computer.

I figure as much time as I spend on a computer, I want an expert to guide me toward the most bang for my buck, while still keeping a tight rein on my budget. Cameron asked good questions to learn what I did and didn't need. He was personable, prompt, communicated well, and has an impressive resume. (See his website.) I decided to go new, and I'm convinced he set me up with a much more satisfying bundle than I ever would have ended up with at Best Buy or Walmart. He had it all set up (with data transferred from my old PC), in my home, within 48 hours, and tested and demonstrated everything before he left. He offers excellent ongoing tech support, too.
Description of Work: I had serious virus/spyware/performance problems on a 7 year old PC. I wanted good advice on whether to have the problems fixed or buy a new PC. Cameron came to my home, listened to what I had to say, took a look, and offered me both options. He could clean up 7 years of, gunk, add memory, speed things up, or he could set me up with something that would last me another 5-7 years with a lot more satisfaction. He didn't try to sell me - he offered both solutions with pros and cons and was willing to provide whatever service I decided on.

Their service was very good and I don't have any complains about them. The guy was very quick and it was right around the Christmas holidays. He was very responsive and professional. He upgraded the RAM on one laptop and the internet security as well. He had to replace the screen on another laptop and also fixed some software, as there were some viruses on that. He also added internet security on the third laptop.
Description of Work: I used Taylor Computer Solutions on the 21st of December for fixing 3 laptops.

My componter was running very, very slow. It was very frustrating to even use it and it was an older model. We called Cameron Friday evening and he arrived at 9:00 pm. His diagnosis was I need a new pc with more capacity. By 10:00 am Saturday he arrived with my new pc and my old programs loaded. That is a 13 hour turnaround, you cant' get any better than that. He is very professional and "knows his stuff. Cameron walks the walk and talks the talk and knows the meaning of excellent customer service. HIghly recommended, you won't be disappointed.
Description of Work: Furnished a new computer/keyboard and transferred files for my old pc to the new.

Cameron came to the rescue after I had been through two different computer support companies in three years. I will not elaborate on the extent of the poor service I received from the other two because that is in the past. Cameron basically rebuild a new computer system that I had bought from one of his competitors. From the start the system would not function as it should or support the things I needed it to do. He worked effortlessly to correct all the problems with my server and work stations and from the day I met him, he made me feel comfortable. He has not let me down. In fact, I am amazed at his work performance and ethics. My system is now working properly and I can use everything the way I need to. He is now working on my website! I just wish I had met him sooner. Good, reliable, trustworthy computer support is so hard to find. Please give him a try. You won't be disappointed.
Description of Work: Cameron Taylor has been so terrific. I have had some not-so-good experiences with technical help regarding our computer system and server and it is very encouraging to finally find someone who is extremely competent, well-trained and so personable. He is extremely professional and speaks in terms that I can understand. I think that may be his military training! I would recommend this company to anyone who needs help with their computer system, regardless of the size. He will go out of his way to find cost effective solutions to your problems and his response time is lightening fast and that is SO important when your system is down during the middle of a work day.

I really liked Cam and his excellent service. He did this type of work in the Marines and is now starting his own business. He responded quickly when I called to inquire about his services. He was able to make repairs promptly. His rates are Excellent! He was very professional, and I would trust him in my home anytime. I now feel I have a professional, reliable, and cost-effective I.T. person to turn to for my home computing needs.
Description of Work: I have a Dell Dimension desktop PC at home which was hit by a virus. Cam diagnosed the problem, backed up my data, wiped the hard drive, reloaded Windows, added RAM, and reconfigured the PC for better operation.

When I lived in Indy, I had some problems with a new computer I'd bought and even though I purchased a service contract with the store I bought the computer from, I could not seem to get adequate help from them. Cameron was just going into the Marines at that time and his mother was my neighbor. I asked if he might take a look at my computer because I knew he had always liked computers and would be working with computers in the Marines. He got my computer all set up and working great! In 2007, I transferred with my Company to San Diego, CA. When I had problems with getting my computer set up after the move, I remembered that Cameron was stationed in Oceanside, CA. So, I called him and he quickly resolved my problems. He has worked on my computer several times since then, when I've added new hardware, when I had a virus and to just clean things up when it was running slow. In all instances his service was excellent! I know he is out of the Marines now and has his own business in Indianapolis, so I want to recommend his service. I think his rates are extremely reasonable too.
Description of Work: I have used this service about four times. New computer set up, to get rid of a virus, to add a new printer, and then to help me clean up files and get my computer "tuned up" to run faster.
