+ -1 moreRodney Spencer and his crew built at 12X36 sunroom on the back of our home built in 1968. Rodney and his crew provided excellent craftsmanship on all facets of the project. They passed the Speedway 6 stage building and electrical inspection process with flying colors. My wife, and I are very satisfied with the new sunroom, and they exceeded our expectations. Rodney managed supply chain issues (concrete, PTAC, exterior door) without impact to the quality of the work. He also managed losing one of his key crew members for 4 weeks due to injury and maintained the quality of the work. With the supply chain delays, Rodney successfully managed the project costs within his initial project estimate. The only change order was to install a new roof and skylights on the back of our house when issues were uncovered when tying the sunroom roof into our home roof. Rodney was very straight forward when issues were discovered and discussed those issue with us when they occurred. He was very open to discussing the project daily and ensuring that detailed decisions not covered in our initial design were addressed in a timely manner. He is one of the most honest contractors that we have had the privilege to work with.
Description of Work: The sunroom work included: • Move the internet fiber cable from roof of old sunroom and re-install after sunroom completion with no internet service loss • Remove the existing prefabricated 12 x 36 sunroom roof, walls and wood deck foundation and haul away. • Install new foundation with 16” by 8 “concrete footer with 8” block in the same footprint as the existing sunroom and a concrete slab. • 2” x 10” floor joists with ¾” T/G OSB plywood. Build new 2” x 4” x 8’ walls with 1 main door and 11 – 48” slider windows with ½” drywall. • Ceiling will be 2” x 12” rafters with 1/12 pitch vault with 5/8 “drywall. • Install new roof shingles and skylights on the back of the home after discovering issues when tying sunroom roof into the current house roof. • Wall insulation is R-13. Roof insulation is R-30. • Friedrich PTAC 15,000 BTU heat pump unit installed for heating and cooling. • Painted ceiling, walls and trim to owner’s desired color. • Installed electrical infrastructure to support 3 ceiling fans, 3 ceiling lights, 8 indoor and 2 outdoor electric receptacles, 1 PTAC, and 1 exterior light. • Installed exterior vinyl soffit, 8” fiber cement lap siding over ½” OSB, and exterior wood. Painted the siding, the foundation concrete block, and the exterior wood.

I had three Egress windows installed and couldn't be more pleased with Spencer's Construction. It was a pleasure meeting them and talking with them, absolutely great and hard working company. It was a little more challening than most since we had to get underneath an airduct in the basement and through a deck above ground. The team did an outstanding job from start to finish, communication was great, and went above and beyond to protect our house from damage. The window and well were expertly installed and everythings looks and functions perfectly. I'd highly recommend Spensers Construction.

They are very good to work with. We had a finished wall and didn’t need to touch up any wall paint. Just had to paint the new window trim which was expected. Excellent work!

+ 0 moreThis job went incredibly smooth, even despite a week full of Noah’s Arch level rain. The Spencer Construction group was well prepared to ensure the foundation of my house was safe and no rain water got in my basement. They did a good job of explaining all the different steps of the project and making me feel comfortable with their work. They even worked around a gas line it got in the way of the dig. Now I have some huge windows in my basement and it’s warm and full of light. I would definitely recommend Spencer Construction or higher them again for another job.

I was naturally concerned about cutting a hole in my basement wall and he explained everything thoroughly. After starting work I surprised him with a change and he handled it great. His price is fair and did wonderful work. Communicated well kept to the dates he said. I would hire him again in a minute!
