+ -1 moreIt went great! They came by the day I called for an estimate. They actualy came back to meet with my original builder to show them all the things that were done in error. They were very respectful with this situation. When they came to complete the work, they actually ended up fixing several other small things for no extra cost. Their price was very fair and I felt they were thorough. I would recommend them highly!

+ -1 moreWe have had no problems whatsoever since. Their work saved us thousands and thousands of dollars if the problem had not been corrected in time.
Description of Work: Due to ice, sleet, and snow backup on the roof at the front entrance of our house, we had severe ice accumulation that was backing up under the shingles and filling the gutters, and, would evenentually have leaked inbetween the exterior of the front entrance and the interior walls, creating interior water damage. An architect told us that it was one of the worst architectural configurations for an entrance he had seen. It was 3 areas of roof converging over and at the front entrance, creating the conditions for snow, ice, sleet to lock together and back up under the shingles for at least 2-3 feet.. I was referred by a builder to Specialty Guttering Systems. The owner, Mr Dave Brooks, came to the house and personallly inspected the situation. It was a very very cold, frigid, December day to be up on a ladder, investigating the blocked gutters, ravines, and shingles, looking under snow and ice, on the roof and in the gutter seams, , and analyzing the way to correct the problem, in December. .He advised we needed ice and water shields, a new drip edge, repaired seams, much larger gutters and downspouts, the replacement of hundreds of shingles. They were able to schedule the work in 2 weeks, despite severe winter weather. They removed all useless materials, installed the above new equiptment, and, succesfully corrected the problem. They carefully cleaned up all material and this included raw, sharp, aluminum, rivets, shingles, downspouts, gutters, tarps, and discarded materials.

+ 0 moreI have used this company before and when this hail storm came in and damaged my roof I gave them a call and they had the bid that I wanted and my insurance company agreed. They ordered the slate and three months later it came in. It took a couple of months to do the work. I liked the owner real well because he was constantly on the job with his crew. I liked his crew too.
Description of Work: They took all the tile off the roof and put new slate on. They installed new gutters on our home. They built an awning that my wife had designed.

Description of Work: They replaced the whole gutter system on our house. They also put in some venting and replaced the wood on the bottom part of the overhang. They took the old gutter system down and hauled it away for us.

+ -1 moreVery well. I was sent a color chip chart and picked the color and faxed in the confirmation and they arrived in about a week. There was a lot of rain at the time we had the job done in May 2008. They were in and out in a few hours and they look and work great.
Description of Work: Removed old gutters and downspouts from barn and replaced with seamless gutters and new downspouts. Length of barn is 80 feet and we did both lengths so it was 160 feet of gutter. They disposed of the old gutters as well.

+ -1 moreAnswered my call promptly. Performed a free estimate. However, after we faxed back the estimate, we did not hear from the company. I had to call them - it was probably about 2 weeks after I faxed back the signed estimate/contract. They came and went without us knowing. Usually, this would be okay but our son was staying here and had to listen to the pounding all morning. We could have given him notice if we knew they were coming. Additionally, they left a mess - clumps of leaves from the gutters all over the yard. It also appears one of our yard ornaments was broken. It was laying on our deck and the glass in it was cracked. We believe the gutter installation is fine - we were just disappointed in the customer service.

Description of Work: Replaced 50 feet seamless guttering (hit by falling tree), re-attached 2 downspouts and replaced mesh gutter covers. Also repaired seam in gutter on outbuilding.

After the inspection, we asked for some small modifications to ensure a clean line along the roof. The work was done quickly and to our satisfaction. + -1 moreThe fact that I received a letter in the mail within two days of calling Specialty Guttering, contradicting what I'd been told on the phone, indicates that the company is either "cherry-picking" its work or simply doesn't have the courtesy to be honest with customers at the time they call. Either way, this is very disappointing. Why wouldn't the company have simply called me back and indicated their unwillingness (or "inability") to quote my job? It would have saved them a .39 cent stamp and the time to type a letter. Odd way to do business. I would never call them again for future work.
Description of Work: I called Specialty Guttering on a recommendation on 6/22/06. They took my name and address and said my information would be given to a representative and I would be contacted for an estimate on new gutters, downspouts & possibly soffits. Instead, two days later on 6/24/06, I received a letter in the mail indicating that the company was so far behind with its work that they would be unable to quote my job.

+ -1 moreDavid Brooks and his men did an excellent job, including solving problems created by previous roofers. They are skilled, respectful, diligent, careful and cleaned everything up well. David came promptly when there was a problem and immediately rectified it. Later he provided an additional service free of charge. We highly recommend this company for your guttering and roofing needs, especially if you have copper guttering and slate roofing. (See our roofing report too.)
Description of Work: Replaced copper guttering and downspouts on a large home and installed deicing cables and sensors in the guttering. Also replaced a copper barrel roof poorly installed by a different roofing company.
