We received a packet in the mail from the corporate office of Dish Network that we could upgrade our old receiver to a new DVR receiver for free (besides the increase in monthly fees). The offer also included free HD for life and three free movies if we enrolled in auto pay online. We called to schedule an install date. The Dish Network installer showed up on time; however, he damaged our $2500 entertainment center by putting two huge, very noticeable scratches in the front edge. He also scratched the top of the entertainment center. In upgrading to the DVR, we no longer needed a receiver on an upstairs bedroom TV, but service still had to be set up on that TV. The guy got the picture going on the second TV, but the reception was not clear. While he was working on that TV, a manager contacted him via walkie talkie asking what was taking so long. The installer explained what was going on. The manager said, "That's b*******" and told him to leave immediately. The installer attempted to fix the picture, but after he left, we had to call the 800 number to get additional help. After seeing the damage, we contacted the corporate office of Dish Network. We were assigned "Bill" as our corporate damage rep. Bill was impossible to speak with as he is "on the phone most of the day." We were directed to call the number and ask to speak with him if we needed to actually discuss the issue instead of leaving messages every other day for each other. We tried this and were told we could not speak with him nor could we speak with the supervisor. Eventually, we were told that the damage (in their opinion) would only be $60 to fix and we were offered $40 for our "inconvenience." We told them this was unacceptable. We were then told that if we disagreed, we would have to contact someone re: the furniture repair and send Dish Network the estimate. We did so. The furniture repair guy said that the scratch on top of the unit was not repairable at all. The indentations in the wood on the front were repairable; however, they would always be noticeable. The fee for repair was $150 for a house call, then $65 per hour for each hour thereafter. We have provided this information to Dish Network, and we have yet to receive a response. We would not recommend Dish Network to anyone.

THEY MESSED UP THE SIDING OF OUR HOUSE WHEN THEY DID THE INSTALLATION. THEY SENT A GUY OUT TO FIX IT AND HE PUT SCREWS THROUGH THE SIDING. IT LOOKED REALLY BAD, SO THE SUPERVISOR FINALLY MADE HIS WAY OUT HERE AND REPLACED THE SIDING, BUT THERE IS A BIG GAP BETWEEN THE NEW AND THE OLD SIDING, AS THOUGH IT SHIFTED OR SOMETHING. I TALKED WITH THEM AUGUST 16, AND THEY SAID THEY'D SEND SOMEONE OUT THE NEXT DAY. NO ONE HAS COME BACK AND IT IS NOW AUGUST 25.
