LANDSCAPE SPECIALTIES

We met 2 times and talked through what we wanted for our design. Brad brought his landscape architect to assist in getting the detail on paper. We asked up front what an estimate of the time involved would be to complete the project. I was given a number from the landscape architect that seemed reasonable. Based on our meetings they came up with a rough plan that we felt was average and lacked detail. Because keeping to a budget was important to us, I contacted Brad and asked him for the amount of hours that had been spent so far for the work that had been completed to date.. I told him we wanted to keep tabs on it so there wasn't a shock at the end. We received a combined number of hours spent from the 2 of them which was higher than we expected based on what we had received to date and the estimate we had been given. I then asked for a breakout so we could see how the hours had been spent. He was very offended by that and stated that they had informed us that we would be billed monthly. He did provide the breakout. His hours were appropriate but the landscape architect hours were very high given the work that had been done. I contacted him to express my concern and talk through some of the things that we needed urgently to keep our project moving and he informed me that the;y did not feel that working with us was a good fit and they would not be completing our project. We were left with a rough incomplete plan that we could not use as well as in a bind because we needed some grades shot which they did not complete even though they had charged us for time spent at our property. He stated that he would be charging me for 1/2 of their bill for approx $600. I stated that I did not feel that was right since we had an incomplete plan that was worthless to us and that they were refusing to finish because they did not feel it was a good fit for them. I ignored their bill because I did not feel we should pay them since they were the ones who refused to complete the work. We were willing to continue a working relationship but had simply requested an accounting of their time and asked that they work more efficiently in order to control our design costs. Today I received a text from Brad stating that if we did not pay by Friday that they would take us to small claims court. We are paying the bill to avoid any further harrassment however would not recommend this company.

It has gone extremely well. We have been using them for close to 12 years now. Whatever they think our needs are, they ask us about what we think needs to be done. They are very honest.

My yard looks better than ever. They have always been punctual and professional. They were really good.

We have been very pleased with them. Their work is very well done and they are very reliable. They have a high standard. I will continue to use them in the future.
