 + -1 moreMuch of this was covered in my response to the earlier question. I made the appt. Trey showed up exactly when I expected him and he proceeded to clean up my computer ("too much stuff running in the background"). Who knew? He stayed over an hour and I felt guilty only paying him the $50 he asked for. I would certainly rec. him to anyone. Best part? I did not have to spend 2 hours talking with tech support with someone for whom English is not their first language! That alone is worth $50 any day!
Description of Work: Trey Womack came to my house and worked miracles on my computer. It had gotten very slow and I had lost the ability to get into my email account. He got all that straightened out and explained patiently everything he was doing. He even installed a new (free) virus protection program. My computer now operates much faster and I have a better understanding of how to correct some problems myself.

 + -1 moreMy computer was operating very slowly, and I couldn't get access to certain websites. Trey Womack (technician) removed some programs that he said were slowing the computer down and added some free virus and spyware protection. He also showed me how to perform some procedures I wasn't too sure about.
Description of Work: The technician removed some programs from my computer and added some others. Also, he instructed me on some procedures that I had questions about.

 + -1 moreNot well. Her reply: Dear Judy, We missed your appointment for which we sincerely apologized. Angie's List has a number of providers which will be able to offer you a discount. Regards, Barb Starr. I didn't want a discount just to get a discount. I wanted it to compensate for their mistake, which forced me to rearrange the rest of my work that day. I won't be returning. She had a great opportunity to retain a customer -- and to have me tell a positive story to lots of friends and co-workers. Suffice it to say, a lot of people will be hearing about my experience with Indy Home Tech and, sadly, it won't be positive.
Description of Work: Trey, the technician, has done work for me before. I set up an appointment for 8 a.m. Dec. 18 so he could get my union's old computer hooked up to the Internet. I arranged the rest of my day's work (on a day off) prefaced on being able to get on the Internet, as my personal computer was dead. He didn't show at 8, but I allowed time for traffic. I called at 8:20 or so and talked to his aunt, Barb Starr, who does the scheduling. It turned out she never passed the appt. info on to Trey. The appointment wasn't canceled until 8:50 a.m. Barb apologized but offered no credit for future work. I wanted to stay as a customer, but I felt she should have offered a 50-minute discount, as that was the amount of time between the start of the appointment and its cancellation. I left an e-mail and voice mail, proposing such a credit.

 + -1 moreOur computer was running very slowly and had stubborn viruses, in spite of our up-to-date virus and ad-ware protection software. I called a few other computer repair companies on Angie's List. Indy Home Tech had a good price and sounded knowledgeable. We agreed to the technician's recommendations, although we aren't sure he gave us the correct information about our email. He took the computer to his office for repair and brought it back promptly the next day. So far, the computer is running well.
Description of Work: The technician re-installed Windows XP, installed updates and Avast Antivirus. The work was done in two and a half hours @ $35/hour (Angie's List special price for first-time customer.)

 + -1 moreThis company provides excellent and convenient service. Trey, and members of his staff, are on time, return my phone calls, very knowledeable, trustworthy and dependable. They are pros! It's wonderful to have someone come to your home so you don't have to disconnect all the cables and try to package up all the ''pieces and parts'' to take to a location for service or repair.
Description of Work: I contacted this company for advice regarding a computer purchase. I've used them before and they are very knowledable. I wouldn't call anyone else! Once the computer arrived, Trey came to our home and set it up. He transferred files from the old computer. He installed new software on the new computer. He took out the modem from my old computer and installed it into another computer that I own. He also removed old files from the second computer and cleaned up the hard drive.

Description of Work: Returned calls promptly and scheduled appt within reasonable time frame. Trey came out to assess a wireless network problem. He suggested purchasing a booster router due to the age of the home and poor signal. He upgraded the network to the new router and cleaned up the files to enable the computers to run more efficiently.
