Tina Hawk came out for the estimate. They charge for labor and the customer buys the supplies. Tina drove us to the tile store and we selected and purchased our tile. Tony Hawk installed the tile. He had to remove the old first. Our entry way is roughly 4 feet by 15 feet. Tina suggested we rim the tile for a finished look. That was a good idea because the new tile was just a hair higher than the old. The rim gives it a nice finish. Tony used matching caulk to finish the edge and you can barely tell it wasn't the original flooring.

They were available to give an estimate in the evening & worked with our schedule. The actual install went great. Tony answered all our questions, made helpful recommendations, and was professional. Our bathrooms turned out fantastic! Would hire again.

The parties have reached an agreement. The provider took responsibility for the issues that were raised leaving no further concerns.

This is the third project we hired Hawk Tile to do on our home. Tony has almost become like family to us. We could not be happier with the end result!! He is professional, trustworthy, and dependable. If we could tile our entire house we might consider it:-) I am counting down the days until we can remodel our master bathroom so that we can have Hawk Tile come out again. I highly, highly recommend using this company!

The remodel went very well;smoothly from start to finish. Tony and his son were very punctual and worked long hours to get all the work done in the time frame allotted. Tena was extremely helpful and knowledgeable when dealing with materials and coordinating the job with other subs.

The approximate amount spent included the purchase of the glass tile. I paid for the glass tile upfront. I was supposed to pay 1/2 for the service upfront and the remaining half once the job was completed. Things we liked: They were definitely punctual and very responsive to answer questions we had prior to the install. They helped us with the decision on what tile to go with as we couldn't decide on our own. They were available late into the evening to provide the estimate. They provided their portfolio of work which looked very impressive. Their price was very competitive and they seemed very confident in there abilities. Thigs we didn't like: Tony and his son, or I should say really Tony's son did the majority of the work. Tony had mentioned in the estimate that he had been teaching his son for a little while. They arrived right on time and began to work immediately. Not long into it I noticed that Tony had dissappeared and was gone for at least an hour or two and left his son there to keep working. When his son asked for my help to move my stove I asked where Tony had gone to. I was told that Tony had been trying to cut glass tile with the dry saw and it wasn't working well so he had to go home to get the wet saw. First off, I'm not an expert and do not claim to be, but everyone I have spoken to said you have to use a wet saw, and why didn't he bring it to begin with him in the first place? I didn't bother them during the installation which took way longer that I was originally told. When Tony came back he started to do some of the more intricate cutting and whatnot. He said he was pretty impressed with some of the smaller cuts he was able to make. After they cleaned up and left I started to look at things closer. (my fault for not doing this before they left, but i hate confrontation). Things just didn't look right. First off, they were 12x12 mesh backed individual glass tiles. When they put the sheets together some of the tiles were actually touching on the sides, top and bottom. There was no spacing whatsover. In other spaces there was a large gap. The spacing was very very poor and it is not the tiles fault, it is the installers. I found a few places were tile was already falling off. I found a corner seam were some of the tile was chipped, but apparently because its in a corner we shouldn't care? The major issue was the waviness we saw. It looked like an amateur had done the work, and I'm pretty sure Tony's son is one. Perhaps if Tony had done all of the work it may have turned out differently, I dont know, because he was still there in the end to view everything. We called later that night to tell them about the issues and the fact that we did not want to them to come back the next day to grout as the whole tile needed ripped out because we are not settling for that. We were told the tile could still be adjusted to make it right. That is completely wrong. That night I started ripping tile off and it was darn near impossible and I had the right tools to do it. They stated it was the tile's fault, really? They wanted to come back that night and look, and we refused. Thats on us, but if it wasn't done right the first time, honestly I don't trust it will get done right. We were told that if we didn't like the work then they didn't want our money. HA! The check was cashed the next day by them so that was a lie. Yes its my fault I didn't pay closer attention while they were there. Yes its my fault because we didn't want them back. Bottom line, it should have been done right the first time and they did not deserve a dime of my money.

I am absolutely in love with the tile that I bought and thrilled that I found Hawk Tile on Angie's List. The installation is beautiful and I could not be happier! I've already had a couple friends over and they can't believe how good the tile looks. I'm really happy I hired Tony, because he's professional, helpful and skilled at his craft.

I contacted Hawk Tile after reading good reviews on Angie's List. I knew that I wanted a tile backsplash, but I didn't know much about what materials I needed or how much of them. Tena was very helpful in setting up a time to come do an estimate in person, and was able to give me some suggestions on tile selection, color, and material. The estimate was very reasonable, so I hired them! After I selected my tile, they picked up all of the necessary tile and other materials needed for the job, which was a huge help to me. Tony and his son arrived right on time and were very respectful of my home and my schedule. They made some suggestions for improvements, which turned out to be fantastic! The workmanship is outstanding, and they are very neat...cleaning up after themselves after each day's work. What I especially liked was that Tony and Tena did not hesitate to answer questions, provide suggestions, and give input based on their years of tile experience. But I always felt that they supported whatever my choices were. I also appreciate that their estimate was very detailed, so I always knew exactly what I was paying for and never felt like any of the charges were at all out of line. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Hawk Tile installed a beautiful back splash for us in August of 2012. Had a minor problem with one area under a window sill. Called Tena on 11/22/12. Tony returned our call the same day and came out to look at the problem. Came back on 11/23 and fixed the problem under their 5 year warranty program. Wonderful service! Would recommend Hawk Tile to anyone needing tile work as they stand behind their work 100%.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Initial meet and design review was friendly, non pressured discussion. The responding quote extremely competitive, and throughout the project the team was professional and courteous. Innovative solutions were provided to give more cost effective options when it came to countertop selection and sink area design. The process of tile selection with Tena and Tony was informative and ensured the choice worked with the age of the home, the desired design concept and ensured a professional finish. The project included the need to maintain a prior stained glass window as part of the shower area, the tiling surrounding this challenge and throughout was immaculate. During the project troubleshooting was required regarding the interior framing, original pipework and the extraction unit and Tony continued to be on top of the details ensuring robust solutions while working alongside other vendors. Tena ensured up to date assessment of any change orders, project managed other contractors well and the team was accommodating even when faced with delays due to other contractors (glass installation). Tena kept details of the budget accurate and timely with extremely friendly and professional follow up. Overall an extremely positive experience and I have recommended this company to my nearest and dearest.

Excellent job! Could not be happier with this company. Tena gave us a very detailed estimate. Tony installed the tile. Tena had very good suggestions about the design. Tony is an expert at installing the tile. He is a perfectionist, and wasn't satisfied until each tile was just right. Tony and his son showed up on time ready to work. Cleaned up after they were finished. Great job, really happy with this company and would recommend them to anyone.

Overall I would say the experience was excellent. With a great deal of guidance and support from Tena, I chose a 20 x 20 porcelain tile for the floors and a coordinating porcelain tile with blue pearl inserts (matches the beveled edge on my countertop!) for the backsplash. Tony is very skilled at laying tile and I very much appreciated that I was kept informed along the way. The result is just beautiful - the new floor looks far more expensive than it truly is and the installation is excellent. Also, Hawk tile uses some installation techniques that I haven't not typically seen....instead of replacing my ugly black rubber kickplates with more ugly black rubber kickplates, they utilize the floor tile to actually tile the kickplates. It looks great. Also, there is no transition strip between the tile and the carpet - the edge of the tile is beveled and the carpet is folded under. Again....much more sophisticated look. This was a sizable job and I think that the price was good in light of the amount of work and the type of tile that I had installed. Very good value and money well spent.

We didn't have enough of the left over tile and they did a great job redesigning the pattern to use as much of my tile as possible. It was extreme tight working conditions as well. They did a great job.

I am VERY picky about work I have done around my house and I must say that Tony and his son did an outstanding job laying the tile. They were very cautious about preparing the areas outside the bathroom so as not to soil the carpet and flooring in the adjacent rooms. In one of the two doorways, after the tile was laid but not yet dry, I let Tony know that I was concerned that the gap between the flooring in the next room and the ceramic just laid was too wide. Tony immediately pulled the tiles up and recut the tiles so there was only a 1/2" gap. This enabled the T mold I needed to purchase to fit exact. I would use them again.

Tena and Tony were extremely easy to work with and most importantly did what they said they would do! My wife and I were looking for tile for a backsplash in our kitchen one Saturday for a project that we thought we were going to do ourselves. We saw another couple with a cart full of tile and made a joke that despite not having a camera crew we wanted to "crash" there tile project and do it all for them. After a good laugh, I asked the husband what he was doing and that is when he shared his story of Hawk Tile. He said they started with the just one bathroom tile project. They were so impressed by the quality of this project and found Hawk Tile so reasonable and good at what they did, they are now using them for a third project in as many months. After hearing this story, I had to get a quote because I really did not want to do this project. As much as I love my wife, I could think of better ways to get our quality time in. So, I got a hold of Tena. She allowed me to send pictures and measurements to her via email. From the info I sent her, they quoted the job and stuck to the price which was very reasonable. They are very tech savy and communicated via phone, text or email which made everything easy to set up. My wife and I wanted to get this project done within 2 weeks and Hawk Tile fit us in the window that we requested. When they arrived, they got to work and knocked out the job. We have busy schedules and Tony and Tena were more than accomadating. We are very satisified with Hawk Tile and would recommend Tony and Tena to our friends and family who need tile work done. Top 3 things we liked the best: 1. Communication was great. We never felt like we were being ignored, and they easily communicated via text, email and phone. 2. Great value. Great quality product for a very reasonable price. 3. Showed up when they said they would.

Overall it was flawless. Very thorough from start to finish. They also include a 5 year warranty. That says enough right there.

Oh my gosh, they arrived 15 minutes early for the appointment, they quoted lower than any other tiler I had come to my home. They then made suggestions, but did not force their ideas. They said they could do stairs, which none of the other tilers wanted to do - why? They brought a book of 8 years worth of homes and businesses they had worked on. They took great pride in their work. They were honest and generous with everything. They cleaned up after themselves every single day...do I need to continue???
