You find that there are new laws that you are not acquainted with as you get older that you must learn. Sometimes insurance companies will give you a break if you do take the classes. They have a variety of great services. If you are stuck on the road some place, they will find someone to tow you away or give you the service you need. This past year, I locked my keys in my car, and they sent someone to get them out and they didn't do any damage to my car. This is a service that has been reliable for decades. There is a membership fee.

My car battery was dead, so I called to get a jump start. I called about 7:15 am and someone called within 5 minutes to say he was on his way. My battery had died the night before and I'd had it jumped, but the car wouldn't start again so I assumed I needed a new battery. The original was 5 years old. The AAA driver asked if I wanted him to put in a battery (with a 6-year warranty) for me right then. He told me how much it would cost and told me it would take about 20 minutes to put in. I told him to go ahead. It took no more than the 20 minutes, it cost exactly what he'd quoted me, and I was heading to work by 8 am.

Being a AAA member, I called, gave them address and within 30 minutes the service truck arrived, examined my battery, conducted test and determined it was defective. Went to his truck, retrieved a new battery, installed the battery, conducted tests and left. I could not have asked for more.

Overall, I feel AAA is worthwhile insurance to have.

They have been very good. I have used their service for several years. They are pleasant to deal with, but I feel that their membership price is a little bit on the higher side.

I was getting ready to leave work for the day when a coworker let me know that I had a flat tire. I called AAA, with whom I have had service for several years, and they had a man out here within the hour. He changed my flat in no time, and was very kind and quick! I couldn't be happier with their service. It didn't cost me a dime, and I will ALWAYS have service with AAA!

Although we don’t travel I do pick up maps of Indianapolis and Indiana and make use of their towing services available with our membership. It’s a real comfort to know they are available as all our cars are older. The price listed is a membership for a couple.

I attended a meeting at Speedway Masonic Lodge on August 18. When I left I got into my car and tried to start it but I could get the key to turn in the ignition. I called my wife and she came and tried her key without any success. So we were both bummed out and figuring we would have to have the van towed somewhere and get the ignition fixed. We belong to AAA and have the Plus coverage so the towing would have been covered but we were still looking at a repair bill. The next morning I called a repair shop that I have worked with before and was told that a ‘tumbler’ in the ignition probably fell out alignment and that he uses a locksmith for repairs of this nature and gave me name and number of the locksmith. I checked Angie’s List and that locksmith had only 1 report with an F rating. They were also located at 16th and Emerson so I didn’t call them right away. I found a locksmith closer to home and tried to call them but only got voicemail. I had noticed some reports for AAA in Angie’s List so I called them and explained the problem and was told that they employ locksmiths that could fix the ignition and that they said that they could send one out within 45 minutes and up to $100 of service would be covered by our AAA+ membership. I knew they could unlock doors but I didn’t know about them fixing ignition problems. I went back to the Lodge and someone called me at 9:40 and said that a locksmith was on his way from the east side. He didn’t show up until about 10:45 but he got done at 11:10 and didn’t charge me anything.

We stopped at the office to plan a triptik for a trip that we are taking this week. We were pleasantly surprised that she was able to give it to us while we waited. Also was given travel books, discount coupons to an event which we might attend. She recommended that we call her office if we need information about a stopover room in a hotel/motel--that we could get information and discount rates.

Coming home from a 12-hour night shift as a nurse, I hit a pot hole and blew two tires (I only recognized one tire at the time). The phone operator was courteous and put me on the priority list since I was on the side of I-465 (and it was cold!); the time estimate was under 50 minutes. The repairman arrived in about 20 minutes. He chastised me for putting my tire jack in the wrong place, and then changed the tire without saying anything else. I feel that after seeing the damage I did to the tire he changed, he should have looked at the rest of the tires and the car to check that they were okay. Several miles down the road, another tire blew; this time I called my dad to take me to a tire store.

AA Travel did a great job of saving us money for the family vacation. They made all reservations and arranged for activities while in Florida. We were very please with their service. We have had a membership with this organization for over 20 years.

I served in the Army back in the 50's and we went to visit some old historic sites. We were very pleased. The agent we dealt with was very cooperative and very knowledgeable.

So I waited two days, and the appointment time came and went. When I called, first I was told it appeared they'd fixed my car already. I knew that wasn't true. Then they said it was in the shop. I said, "No, I'm looking at the car." Then I was informed that they were running on a three to four hour delay, which meant there'd be no way to get my car back by 8 a.m. I talked to the shift supervisor who had no clue what was going on. She told me my car would have "priority." Sure enough, my car was back in the parking lot by 6:30 a.m., but the window wouldn't roll down. No one had told me that they had to order parts. Five days later, they let me know the parts were in. The person sent to pick up my car asked ME where the car was going and then, after I explained what happened, asked ME if there was supposed to be a charge for the tow. It's clear communication is lacking in this organization. I have to wonder if things would be different if I upgraded my membership.

I got a flat tire at 70 and 465 in a very high traffic area. They took almost 2 hours to come out at 2 pm on a Saturday afternoon. They actually sent the wrong truck out first, a flat bed for towing, when I just needed a tire changed. I had to call back before the 2nd truck arrived. I told them about the dangerous location, but that didn't seem to speed things up any. I love their service, but hate the long wait.

We worked with Nyree at AAA and she booked us a Disney vacation at the Paradise Pier Hotel in Anaheim California. I was attending a conference in Anaheim. This price was cheaper than the conference hotels. When we arrived at the hotel our room was not ready, so we were upgraded to a park view room. AAA was easy to use as a travel agency and we got a good deal. Paradise Pier hotel was clean and close to the park - within walking distance. I would highly recommend using AAA for vacation needs as they usually offer discounts and specials not available when booking on your own. I would also recommend visiting the California Disney Park and staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel! We had a wonderful time! Nyree was also easy to work with and always responded promptly to calls or questions.
