A Do Hair Design

Caitlyn is a fantastic stylist, and whenever I get a cut, it's like visiting a friend. She is very talented and professional. I also enjoy the interns that sometimes work with Caitlyn - friendly and very helpful. I started going to Caitlyn, on the recommendation of a friend, because I had long hair that I wanted cut, but NOT by someone who was eager to chop it all off (which is a rather common reaction, I've found). Caitlyn has always worked with me to find the right look for my hair, while still keeping in mind how I like to wear it and how much effort I'm willing to put in to make it look good. The administrative staff at A-Do is very nice too, and almost always call to give a reminder 1-2 days in advance.

I felt my hair looked great when I left the salon. I rescheduled and look forward to my next cut!

It was a great experience. The salon is inviting and features local artists paintings. The receptionist was very cheerful and remembered helping me set up the appointment. She offered me a beverage while I waited a few minutes (I had arrived early). The stylist did a wonderful job! As I was leaving two or three ladies gave compliments on my new look. One lady even said, "Oh my gosh, I didn't even recognize you! That is amazing. Your hair looks so much healthier." I felt great!

Julie is great. I'm notoriously lazy with my hair and she's always giving me simple ways to fix it or push it back without making me look like I'm in 1st grade. Some salons tend to cater to women who dress up to go get their hair cut. I tend to fit it in between errands. Julie treats my hair better than I do, and just might convince me to actually pay attention to it one of these days.

I found Tammy to be very sweet and professional. She brought a bunch of supplies and samples of hair products (since this was the first time she would be seeing me and didn't know what type of hair I had). I showed her a couple photos of what I was going after and made it happen. She explained to me how to use the samples and coached me on how to blow dry. She even asked for my vacuum afterwords so she can clean up the clippings while I checked my new haircut. She even offered to come back anytime while I was on bed rest if I needed another styling before my other baby shower or a trim.

She was very patient. Heard what I was saying and gave me a great cut. The shampoo she recommended really lived up to her comments of, ''You can feel the difference after a few washings.'' She didn't advise me to stop coloring my own hair. In fact she gave suggestions on how to do it more efficiently. This is more than I have paid for. Price of $45 is without tip. In the past for a hair cut but as the market goes not really all that expensive.

After my last stylist moved out of the area, I checked the list and found A Do and after reading the reports and going to their web site, I decided that Gina would be a good fit for what I needed. She is, absolutely. I came in knowing I would like to change my style, but I also had no idea what I wanted. She asked well thought out questions about me without being too personal and suggested several approaches. I was thrilled with the results and have been going back to her for over a year.

I think this has been the best salon that I have visited. The reception asked me questions about my hair to match me to the best stylist. The stylist gave me great suggestions on how to care for my type of hair (thin and fine) and a great cut.

I receive a hair cut monthly, but have also received a perm and eyebrow wax in the past. They are always very prompt and professional. They call the day prior to remind you about the appointment. I have been going to this salon for several years and have always been very pleased with the services. The only drawback is that free parking (in the back of the salon) is limited and otherwise, you need to park along College Avenue and pay for parking.

Excellent cut/style/color. Will miss Jennie, as she's moved to Michigan. Always friendly and full service.

Gina was on-time, pleasant and listened to what I wanted. And she was a pleasure to talk to. The salon itself is bright and airy, not at all crowded or stuffy.

Tiffany Holmes is a great stylist. She is really talented. I brought in a photo of a haircut, and we talked about my hair type and whether that style would work. She determined that it would, and I left feeling like the celebrity in the photo! She is great!

Wow. I have had only a handful of good hair cutting experiences in my life. Seriously. I have very fine hair that has a mind of its own. And I have always struggled with my round face and looking waaaaay younger than I am. Some might say that's a good thing, but it doesn't always help when you're a marketing manager trying to deliver presentations to big wigs. Unfortunately, looking like I am 14 doesn't help me much. I thought the only way I could look older was to drastically cut my hair short (not something I really wanted to do, but I thought it was what I had to do to look more professional and older). Gina helped me realize that I could still have my length, still have a great, great haircut with life and body and interest, and look my age (or closer to it, at least!). She gave me great styling tips and even talked me out of doing color and highlights!! I know she could have easily sent me out of the salon having spent $150, but she cautioned me to wait. I love her.

I have very thick, straight hair which had not been cut for months. Julie colored, washed, conditioned, cut, and styled my hair. I did not plan layers and just wanted to cover the gray with highlights. Julie, however, warned against highlighting and traditional coloring. She explained that with both highlighting and traditional coloring, a root line would begin to show as my hair grew. So instead we used a product that she said will ''fade'' in 6-8 weeks rather than reveal roots. It is close to my natural shade. I am happy with the cut and the color and would use Julie again. I have no reservations about recommending her. I also bought some ''product'' (not reflected in the price above). It was expensive and I would not do it again. The salon is very nice with funky original art.

I normally frequent a hair stylist downtown, but since moving north wanted to find something a little closer. I scheduled an appointment with Karla at A-Do Hair Design. I was her first appointment on a Saturday morning and was attending a wedding out of town later that afternoon. She gave me a really nice cut and styled it perfectly. I'm still very happy with the haircut a week later. She seemed to be very knowledgeable about hair and very easy to work with. I'm not certain on the price because in addition to the cut and style, I purchased a hair product. I'm guessing the cut was anywhere from $35-$45 of the total. I am definitely going to go back to Karla in the future. I am giving her an A for price because it's what I'm accustomed to paying, and the quality is important to me.

I've been going to Julie for the last few months. I'm really impressed with the quality of my cut and hi-lite as well as the salon in general. There are so many talented stylists, it's easy to find one that suits your needs. I also like the products they use and sell. If you're looking for a new stylist or for a change this place is perfect!

I found Gina's name from checking Angie's List. She spent a lot of time discussing how I wanted my hair, and cutting it. I really appreciate the personalized service. She has an extremely friendly personality, and was easy to talk to.

I HAD A LAST MINUTE JOB INTERVIEW, SO I CALLED A DO TO SEE IF I COULD POSSIBLY GET IN. THE RECEPTIONIST WAS VERY FRIENDLY & HELPFUL, AND FOUND ME AN APPOINTMENT LATER THAT SAME MORNING. MY STYLIST'S NAME IS JULIE, AND SHE DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. SHE SUGGESTED SOME SIMPLE CHANGES TO MY HAIR AND GAVE ME AN EXPERT CUT, WHICH MADE ME LOOK LIKE A MILLION BUCKS. I WALKED OUT OF THERE FEELING READY FOR MY JOB INTERVIEW! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

HEATHER IS A FABULOUS STYLIST. SHE IS VERY CREATIVE WITH COLOR AND CUT. IN SPITE OF HER YOUTH AND HIGH STYLE APPEARANCE, SHE CAN CREATE STYLISH AND CONSERVATIVE LOOKS WHEN REQUESTED. SHE DESIGNS BASED ON THE CUSTOMER'S NEEDS AND DESIRES.

JENNIFER WAS VERY THOROUGH AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT COLOR. THEY WERE FAIR AND REDID A FEW STRANDS I DECIDED TO CHANGE AFTER THE TOTAL JOB.

GINA DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB. WE HAVE USED HER FOR YEARS.

JENNIE IS A FUN GIRL AND ALWAYS DOES A NICE JOB WITH MY HAIR. SHE MAKES YOU FEEL AT HOME AND LIKE YOU ARE BEING PAMPERED.

I'VE GONE TO SHERYL FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS NOW. SHE ALWAYS GIVES ME A GREAT CUT AND NEVER PRESSURES ME TO BUY PRODUCTS. I WENT TO A COMPETITOR THIS WINTER WHEN I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND GET A SITTER. I REGRETTED IT FOR WEEKS BECAUSE THE HAIR CUT WAS SO BAD. I'VE NEVER HAD A BAD CUT FROM SHERYL, AND OFTEN HAVE PEOPLE ASK ME WHERE I GET MY HAIR DONE.

STYLIST WAS VERY NICE AND SEEMED VERY PROFESSIONAL, BUT I RECEIVED A BAD HAIRCUT. WENT HOME LOOKING OK, BUT COULDN'T REPRODUCE IT AT HOME. MY HAIR WAS UNCONTROLLABLE AND LOOKED RIDICULOUS. WENT BACK AND THE STYLIST SAID I NEEDED TO USE A DEFRIZZ PRODUCT AND PROCEEDED TO TELL ME SHE KNEW THE CUT WORKED, BECAUSE IT WAS EXACTLY THE SAME HAIRCUT SHE HAD! - THAT'S NOT WHAT WE HAD DISCUSSED AND NOT WHAT I HAD ASKED FOR. I FINALLY WENT TO ANOTHER SALON TO HAVE MY HAIR CUT CORRECTED AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CUTTING TECHNIQUE USED ON ME WAS ALL WRONG FOR MY FINE, WAVY HAIR. I AM NOW IN THE PROCESS OF GROWING OUT LOTS OF LAYERING. WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS SALON.
