The furnace was installed in September while the weather was still hot. I contacted him when the weather started turning cold in November because the furnace would not get up past 65 degrees and usually kept the temperature around 60 degrees. He has told me he would call or show up and then has not. It takes threatening legal actions to get them to react. The furnace still does not function properly. He has tried to use excuses as to why things have worked or not worked the way they have instead of testing the various parts on the new furnace. When I inspected the duct work and saw that it was not installed according to code I mentioned this to the owner, Jeremiah Harritt. After some words I told him that I was going to have a state inspector check the work. He then told me that a permit was required for a furnace and he did not obtain one so we would be in trouble. I have since searched the State's web site and do not find either business name listed as doing business in Indiana. I unfortunately relied on the individuals that referred him. In trying to "fix" the furnace on one occasion there was a jumper wire left on something that caused the furnace to heat up to 78 degrees and not shut off. I had to manually shut the furnace off at night until he came back. On another occasion, while installing a new part the worker touched some wires together that blew a fuse on the circuit board. Although this company was referred to me by two individuals, I seriously question their training and professionalism. He tries to dismiss any thing that is wrong. I had water running down the pvc vent pipe from the roof into my attic and down into my utility room. He said that was okay because of the ice that had been melting on roofs. He said they had encountered several situations like that. He actually thought he could convince me that a leaking roof is okay. I suspect that they either did not put a boot over the pvc or did not install flashing properly. I have called another company to fix the furnace. I also was told that I had a ten year parts and labor warranty. I made the comment at the time he told me that since he was a new company the labor warranty was only good if he stayed in business. He now says that I only have a one year warranty. And yes, that was my fault for not checking everything to see what was in writing. I would also say that the way that Air Ease allows these units to be sold to unqualified individuals is a bad practice. This gentleman told me that he had ten years of experience. But, I find that hard to believe.
Description of Work: I purchased a new Air Ease (Lennox) heating and cooling system which included the 95% efficient, variable speed two stage furnace, coil, air conditioner and all new duct work and registers. They were very sloppy with the installation. They did not cover furniture or clean up their messes, i.e. water bottles tossed behind my washer. I have since had water leaking down the furnace pipe from the hole cut in the roof. So, I suspect they have ruined my new roof as well.

Response from Harritt's Residential Service
I am no longer in business for myself. I have been doing heating and cooling for about ten years and this is the first problem that I have ever encountered with a client. Out of the 54 customers that I have ever obtained while trying to start a business, the Member was my only successful client. I do make mistakes and am very apologetic in this matter to her. There is more to this story then what is told but the matter remains she is unhappy. The Member did have another company come out, to my knowledge they charged her $350.00 to perform the necessary repairs on her system, in which I opted to reimburse, however she has asked that I not send her any money. During the installation, the air conditioner was unable to be fired-off due to the fact that she did not have the appropriate electrical ready, so I have offered to come out and fire-off the ac when ready. She explained to me that it wasn't necessary she would have another company out. I make mistakes, as we all do but this is the first complaint ever against me and there will never be any more. Again I apologize for her dissatisfaction.
