Kelly’s division, Johnson Heating, came prepared with a thermocouple and that was exactly what the problem was. It was a quick fix. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

I do think that they are expensive. However, they always show up, on time, every time. They never leave me hanging. And they always get the job done.

We saw a wet area around the two floor drains in our basement...a first in the 21 years we have lived in this 1929 house in Meridian Kessler. This was April 2016. Next, when the washer discharged rinse water beside one of the drains, I began to see light brown water with bits of toilet paper in it come up into the basement from the drain and run in both directions along the back wall for about five feet. It did drain out quickly but it was obvious something must be done. I called Kellie...the company we had used two years before and were happy with. Casey, the plumber they sent at that time, worked over all the faucets in our house...suffering the effects of galvanized plumbing in the upstairs walls and floors, ran a new copper line and faucet to the hose reel outside and was quite knowledgeable...20 years of experience. Casey came with an auger and ran it for three hours through the floor drain and each time it stopped at the same point....about 65 feet. He felt it was running up against some sort of blockage, and measured and determined that the blockage was in the middle of the front yard. Three runs of the auger gave the same answer. The next visit was from the camera crew. These two young men ran a camera and we watched on the monitor as it made its way and again...at 65 feet it stopped. The hand-held sonar device that one of the young men took to the front yard confirmed the measurement. It was obvious we must do something. I'm the nervous type that wants to do things the slow and careful way and unfortunately that usually is more expensive. But...my hope is that it will last forever! Therefore, we made the appointment for Kellie to come and do what we thought would be a "small" repair in the front yard. Our house is on a rather high lot and we have a basement, so that meant that the clay tile was most likely 9 or 10 feet underground. Kellie determined that they did not have a backhoe large enough to dig that deeply so they subbed out the job to an excavation company that they had used in the past. And from this point on, every cent of what we paid went to them. The Kellie plumber that was assigned to our job was constantly on hand to go down in the trench to run the hand-held equipment, etc. There is no avoiding a lot of waiting around in this sort of work. And little did we know that this would turn out to be one of the most severe clogs they had had in a long time! The backhoe would crush a section of clay tile and then the two assistants would drag it apart with shovels and inspect the remains. It was constantly full of what looked like tiny tree root hairs and just "dirt." Then the backhoe would back up a few feet toward the street and repeat this process. This went on for a few days. I was warned that if they crossed the city sidewalk, it would be another category. We did. Then I was warned that if it continued in this fashion and went into the street, still clogged, it would be yet another category....and it was. Even the mailman weighed in on the situation....I introduced him to my husband when he stopped by on his lunch hour and my husband said later that the mailman had said to him in a low voice....."If you have to go into the street, the price doubles." And....it did. We had to have about four sections of the city sidewalk torn out. Then a long expanse of the perfect sandstone curb was lifted up and out and discarded. Next, a special cutter came and scored the asphalt and that was ground out and removed. Four huge dump trucks of our yard's dirt was hauled off. The street was blocked off at each end with signs during the day at this point and at night metal plates were put over the hole. The city gas line and water line, left suspended over the trench for days. Roped off by yellow tape. But finally, when the backhoe had backed up so far that it had broken the curb across the street, and the driver was so beside himself that he got off the machine and put on gloves and got down in the trench and with his hands, pulled back debris with his hands....we reached the main. Yes, our clog reached all the way to the main. Our plumber on the job, Dave, said that he bet the clog was already in place when we bought the house 21 years ago. And a very few feet on the other side of the main, in the city grass strip on the other side of the street, lined up perfectly is a massive old silver maple that the homeowner over there has tried in vain to get the city to remove because it drops huge dead limbs from time to time on the street and city sidewalk, to no avail. We imagine that is the source of the root hairs. I sit here typing this and our new asphalt patch in the street lines up perfectly with that tree. Everything that was done underground seems to have been done correctly. It fell apart when the excavation company did a rush job on putting our yard back together and pouring a partial sidewalk and curb. But this is where Kellie is wonderful....they said they wanted to make me "happy" and worked with my husband to somewhat reduce the price to make up for the fact that we had Mattingly Concrete jackhammer out the concrete repair and the curb repair and replace it, and we will pay out of our pocket in the spring for the yard to be re-done. Kellie said a few mistakes were made along the way and they are going to absorb them. As my husband said..."This is the price of doing business." And I will not hesitate to use Kellie again. They are great. I gave a B for the price just because I was stunned at the price itself....the mid-$20,000's....and a lot of it was labor. We had men here for days....a couple of weeks at least. Multiple permits, several inspections, at least two kinds of crushed stone to go in the trench when it was time to fill it in, at least two cement mixers here to pour. The only day I missed was the day after the 4th of July when they did the asphalt patch. There were a lot of categories to this job. A lot of men and a lot of trucks. It all adds up.

Denis Jimenez arrived and I explained that the clog was somewhere between the washing machine, Bathroom sink, and Kitchen sink. He asked to see the layout of these rooms and asked why I thought this did not involve the main sewer drain. Satisfied with my answer, he asked to see the pipes in the basement. Then he asked me to go up and try the different drains. He concluded that the problem was in the Kitchen line and went to work. He not only got the drain unclogged, he discovered that my Kitchen drain had an Automatic vent on it that had clogged and was no good. He demonstrated how my sink should be draining and gave me an estimate for replacing this vent. All the time he was he, he was explaining things to me and giving me tips for avoiding this problem happening again. He also had a great sense of humor. I've been looking for a plumbing company. I think I've found it!

First, to my credibility: I am a police officer sworn to be honest and trustworthy.  I have also owned a business for 22 years.  Kellie Plumbing has been a customer and I know the former owner as well as the new owner, Ron G. who also owns Johnson Heating & Cooling in Greenwood.  Ron and I have always had a good relationship and he knows me to be an honest and trustworthy person.
On to the event...
I own a couple dozen rental properties.  One of my tenants called to tell me that the water heater in the house was not working.  I called Kellie Plumbing who said that they could send a technician out to the house.
The technician called me after looking at the water heater.  He told me that the heating element had gone bad.  He gave me an option to replace the element or to replace the entire water heater.  I asked him how the rest of the water heater looked and he replied that it looked fine.
IMPORTANT: I asked the technician how long it would take to repair the water heater.  He replied by telling me that "we" don't carry parts for water heaters that we don't sell and that he would have to see if he could even get the parts (today) and would have to contact his office to see when he could get back out to the house.  I told him to check into those things and to CALL ME BACK.
After speaking with the technician, I returned a call from one of my handyman about another property.  During the call, he told me that his job for the day cancelled.  I asked him if he had time to look at the water heater.  He said "yes" and went straight over to the rental.
My handyman agreed with the diagnosis of the problem offered by the technician from Kellie Plumbing.  He went to a hardware store right around the corner, returned and then fixed the water heater.
A few hours later, the Kellie Plumbing technician called me requesting payment for fixing the water heater.  I asked what he was talking about and he told me that he had received permission to go buy the parts and return to fix the water heater.  I told him that I had already had it fixed by someone else!  He replied and told me that was "too bad" and that he had done the work and expected to be paid.
I told the Kellie technician that the last thing I told him was to call me back after speaking with his office and that I never authorized him to do the work.  The technician told me that he "figured" I would want the work done so he took it upon himself to get the water heater fixed.
I asked him if he happened to notice all of the new parts in the water heater.  The technician replied that he didn't notice them but wasn't paying attention since he had looked at the parts that morning.
I told the technician that he hadn't been told to do the work and that he was to have checked on prices, parts and when he could be re-scheduled to come back out to the house and to call me with that information.  None of this seemed to register with the technician and he kept saying that he did the work and needed to be paid.
I told the technician that I wanted Ron to call me and that I would work it out with him.
Ron never called me.  No one from Kellie Plumbing ever called me to discuss this matter.
Just last week, this same water heater began leaking all over the floor and into the kitchen of the house.  I called Kellie Plumbing only because they were the last people to work on the water heater.  The scheduling lady refused to send anyone out because we refused to pay the bill for the heating element repair. I told her what happened and that her technician had removed and thrown away brand new parts.  She told me that she had my side of the story and her technician's side of the story and that she was believing him and would not be sending anyone out to the house.
I informed her that I wanted to speak with Ron about the matter and she said that she would pass along the message.
Ron still hasn't called me nor has anyone from Kellie Plumbing.
I don't know if the leak in the water heater was caused by the Kellie Plumbing technician or if it was just a strange coincidence.  What I do know is that the technician told me that the water heater looked fine (other than the heating element).
I am thoroughly disappointed in Ron, Kellie Plumbing and the staff of Kellie / Johnson Heating & Cooling.
PRICE NOTE: The handyman fixed the water heater's heating element for less than HALF of what Kellie's technician had quoted.

Denis had been out before to work on some drain issues and had checked the sump pump before. He recommended replying it because of it's incorrect installation and it's age. He came back to do that. From what we can see (water comes out into the yard without gravel during a rain) it seems to be working well.

We  found our sump pump dead last night around 10:30. We called Kellie Plumbing and Denis was out in less than 45 minutes. He worked with good cheer until after midnight installing a new pump explaining everything to my husband during the process. This morning, we discovered that the one way valve wasn't functioning and called back. Denis (after less than 6 hours of sleep - I'm sure) was back less than 30 minutes after our call as cheerful as ever, diagnosed and fixed the problem (not his fault; grit had wedged it open).  We were very impressed with the responsiveness both times, but more so with Denis who at no point made us feel a burden or that he was put out over the lateness / earliness of the trip.  Thank you, Denis! Well done Kellie Plumbing!

We have used Kellie Plumbing several times in the past and have always experienced good and professional service at a reasonable price with honesty. I say this because I noticed one of our toilets leaking around the base. When Casey Davis of Kelli Plumbing examined what I thought was a leak he found it to be something else and there was actually not a problem. The honesty part comes in at, I could have been charged more than a service call. Casey was very pleasant in explaining why I thought there was a leak and said If for some reason I find later a leak he would wave the service fee on the next visit if a repair is needed. I highly recommend Kelli Plumbing and especially Casey Davis.

The the service was great. I was quoted a price which I paid. Then 6 Mos later they said I did not pay the full price and wanted and additional $40
Response from Kellie Plumbing Inc
"We reviewed our records and believe we found the call this review is referring to. The work address and cost are different and the work date was over a year before. The signed service ticket clearly shows a discounted charge for the work of $75. A check was received at the time of service for $35 and we billed out the remaining balance at that time. Upon reviewing our payables file we discovered this balance was still open and requested the balance be paid. The quoted cost is clearly a misunderstanding as we could never deliver such a service for the price of $35. We only requested payment for the work performed and should have been more proactive when the invoice balance went unpaid for so long. We apologize for any confusion."

They did the job but they were just too expensive. The quality of their work was alright. I told them and they made an appointment and they came right out.

"The call history at this home shows three trips over the last eight years to clear the outside drain of tree roots. The last occurring was in February of 2012. We provided a quote to replace the piping in 2009 which the owner declined. Annual maintenance with a root killing compound would be the next best solution but replacing the piping will cure the root issue."

Tim came out within about an hour of my call.  He was very friendly, polite, efficient and professional.  It took him at most 30 minutes to locate the leak and make the repair.  One of the fittings had a crack in it and luckily Tim had a replacement with him.  I was very impressed with their timely manner and quick service.  I would highly recommend them for any plumbing needs, which I plan to use them for in the future.
