The facility is clean, and the personnel are competent. I don’t worry about my dog when he’s there, because I think the employees are very well-trained to spot possible behavior problems and avert them if they occur. My dog is happy when he comes home, and he’s ready to go back when we take him.

We have used all of the services offered by Paws and Play and have been thrilled with each service. The staff is kind, patient, and knowledgeable and most know our dog by name for the short time we have been using their services. The facilities are clean and all the dogs seem happy. Our puppy is happy and loves going. We will continue to use Paws and Play for every thing.

When I came to pick up my dog Abby from Paws and Play in Fishers she was wore out and fell over getting into the car. She was dehydrated and smelled so bad I put her right into the bath tub. I gave Paws and Play instructions to give my dog Abby a baby fresh wipe every day. I had to put Abby on grape gatorade because she did not get enough water while she was there. I would not recommend Paws and Play to anybody after my bad experience. I called several times while I was away 8 days and they said everything was okay. I paid over $300.00 for 8 nights at Paws and Play in Fishers so I feel they forgot about my dog and didn't take good care of her. Today a person rescommended Pet Suites Resort and Spa in Fishers so I am going to check that place out. Paws and Play you let me down but most of all you let down my l4 year old Brittany Spaniel that did not get good care at your place. I give your business a F,

I use P&P all the time for their daycare for my Chihuahua Chiquita. She loves it there ad they always say hi to her as soon as we walk in. I have boarded her there a few times for weekends away and the price is very reasonable for me. The staff is always nice and friendly to me and her.

We use them frequently. We have three dogs, and so they charge $50 for a full day of day care. They are really good with dogs, the dogs have a lot to do, they have activities, if it is nice out, they have little swimming pools, and sprinklers for the dogs to play in. They have size appropriate groups as well, and they keep them very busy. The cost is pretty competitive, but I would like it to be a little bit less. They are awesome there.
Description of Work: I use Paws & Play Dog Resort & Training Center as our dog boarding kennel. We last used them yesterday. We do doggy day care every week, and dog boarding every 3 months.

I was a huge fan of this place and actually a very good client for almost two years . I used to take my dog for day care 1 or 2 times per week, and every time we travel we used the kennel, I also did a obedience class and used the grooming services but I didn't like the cut my dog got, and I though it was way too expensive . I was very happy with the people the work there, and also my dog was very happy to be there, he was always exhausted on our way home. Until one day they call me in the morning, to inform me that my dog was playing with another dog and got scratch in the eye. But was told not to worry we clean his eye and he is acting fine and playing. So to me was not a big deal, when I got there hes eye was swallow and red, I mean the white part of his eye was pure red, he had a lot of blood all around hes eye and also was missing his hair around the eye. I immediately asked what happened? They guy said he didn't know, and I ask him to grab somebody they knew what happened. David came out and explained me the he was playing with a Lab and he had scratched his eye, he mentioned the were rough playing but that he needed it to sleep it off and we will be fine. (At this point my blood was boiling, not only they lied to me about what happened with his injury, I was never informed my 20lbs dog play with bigger dogs, and I was being told to take my dog home to sleep). I decided to take my dog to the vet immediately after to find out that he maybe had injured his cornea. The vet put a purple dye to see how close it was from hes cornea and I was told he was very lucky because it was 2mm from his cornea. Thank god he is fine and took 2 weeks for hes eye to be back to normal and I had to put medicine twice a day every day. I call Paws and Play after the vet and ask to speak with the Manager and I was told she wasn't there and left a message for her to call me back the next day. Next day around 10am nobody had call me so I had to call them back. They did refund my money from day care and also they cover the vet bill but I had to call and ask for it. To me a place like this need to pay more attention to the dogs and also maybe hire more responsible people to work there instead of younger people. I will never be back and I also tell everybody I know that goes there about what happened. It would be a different story if they call and said your dog has been in a accident we are taking him to the vet meet us there sorry that this happened etc. Accidents will always occur but to lie is unacceptable. What about if he really had a injury to his cornea, and the first hours were the most important to take him to the vet, and save his eye, and not neglect what happened.

They provide an excellent service. They also send home training materials and offer 3 in home visits after the training. Brittany trained the dogs. They were very in tune with the dogs and treat them as their own. I can tell a huge difference between the dogs behavior after getting them back. The staff is very nice and professional. The facility is very neat and clean. They went above and beyond for us and the dogs. Their communication is great and I thought the pricing is very fair.

We were very pleased with them. We felt that they did an excellent job with both boarding and training. They are very responsive to the pet owners as far as answering questions and concerns. Their training was well done. We had an exit interview where they taught us what they taught the dogs so it was good follow up to carry out at home. Price wise, it was a little expensive but we knew that so you get what you pay for. We have used them again for an overnight stay.

Our rescued dog has severe separation anxiety, and when I recently came home from a seven hour period of leaving her alone, she had defeated her third crate in the month that we have had her. We spend all hours of the day with her besides work hours and short times that we try to crate train her, walk her at least once per day, and are as affectionate as possible. We were desparate and wanted a solution. I felt like we had tried everything. Luckily, a friend of ours works at Paws & Play and recommended the best, most cost-effective solution my budget could handle for my pup - to have her stay at their location for a week and become reacquainted with a new crate. We got her back home last week, and she is AMAZING. Though we still have some work to do, she is willingly laying in her crate at any time. The hardest part is getting her in the crate when we actually want her to go in - she's a very smart dog, but we are working on it, since she will always hate being in there without us around. Kacie was our trainer and she is fantastic. She informed me of her progress throughout the week and by the end of the stay, she was confident in our dog's ability to learn to be alone. As this is our first dog ever, we did not know what her real needs are. She was destroying things inside (and out, if she was able to get out) of her crate which in her scenario meant she needed more exercise. We thought we were giving her the proper amount since she is a lounger and fairly calm, but to get her to be alone, she needs to be pretty much exhausted. Kacie trained her to use a treadmill (amazing) and she can now get up to 2.8 mph for 25 minutes. Because our dog is a mix of two hounds (beagle/basset), she was not getting proper exercise on a walk, mostly because she is still learning how to walk nicely, but also because she is always on the hunt. The treadmill is a way for her to focus just on exercise, with nothing to sniff. Thankfully, our apartment complex allows our pup to use their treadmill. Kacie also introduced her to a new rewarding toy which we now put her meals in. This toy is stimulating in a mental and physical way, and it was a toy I've never seen in a typical pet store. Kacie showed us a new harness. The one we previously used for our dog was one that clips at her neck/back and while she does walk better with it, it's actually rewarding her for pulling. The new harness attaches to the leash in the front, which vastly helps prevent pulling. We have a 90% pull-free walk with her now! We soon hope for 100%! We wanted to focus on the separation anxiety, but what we also got was more obedience training. Suddenly, we noticed our dog would take longer bathroom breaks which lead to fewer accidents in our house (actually none so far). She also waits at our door so we can lock it on the way outside, whereas before she would continue to pull until she pulled us to where she wanted to go. I am so pleased with our experience at Paws & Play and with Kacie. The price I listed includes a coupon for $50 that I used, to make each day/night about $53. Completely reasonable for what we now do not have to pay in daycare (about $20/day) and get to enjoy a very loving and wonderful dog. It's worth it to wake up earlier and walk her on a treadmill for her to finally be happy when we get home! Paws & Play has a fantastic program, but remember that you still have to put your part in the training process afterward. We now have very specific things we have to do to leave her at home, and so far we've had just a couple of really good days. There will still be bad days, but what our pup learned is literally priceless. You do get a training session with your trainer after the week is over, so they can show you what works for them, since each dog is different. She showed us the products she tried that helped without any pressure to buy (but why wouldn't you if it works???) and gave us cautionary information as well. She trained us how to boost our dog's confidence and to keep our confidence, with positive reinforcement. SO happy we did this. Also - Kacie gave us a tour and the facility is top-notch. The nicest kennel areas I've ever seen and we watched as some dogs were in daycare - their supervisor was actually playing with them with toys - something our dog does not experience at our current daycare location. They are also open later than other places I've looked into. The only problem is they are too far for us to use their daycare if needed, but we will definitely be lodging our pup there in the future! Even the visiting area is so cute and cozy. And it's actually clean. I highly recommend Paws & Play!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE. sOMEONE ABUSED MY DOG HERE. THEY SENT 2 TRAINERS OVER TO "WORK WITH OUR DOGS AND CHECK IT OUT" NOTHING WAS DONE BESIDES SITTING IN MY OFFICE COVERING THEIR BUTTS. I have talked to my breeder, vet, and a behavioral dog therapist and ALL AGREE SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENED TO HIM WHILE THERE. Labs do not do just turn personality after 2 years of being great dogs raised with 4 kids. These people are going to cover their butts no matter what. Completely unacceptable. We have spent lots of money bringing our dogs here for boarding, training and baths. I can't tell you how upset I am by this. NOW= we will spends hundreds or thousands of dollars on a behavioral dog trainer to try and fix what happened to my sweet 2 year old black lab while in the care of these horrible people. Shame on you!!
Description of Work: We boarded our dogs for 5 days here. They came back with kennel cough, diarrhea and green mucus coming out of his eyes. These dogs are 2 years old and have been the sweetest dogs. After being boarded here we now have agressive dogs who now growl at children and bit our next door neighbor 9yr old boy. This dog has never so much as growled at children in the past.

Response from Paws & Play Dog Resort & Training Center
[member name removed], We would like to extend our sincerest promise that Rocky and Lola were treated with nothing but love and affection while they stayed at Paws & Play from 6/26/14 – 7/2/14. We have cared for Rocky and Lola since they were puppies and have always witnessed the same sweet temperament from both of them while in our care. When we received your call on 7/18/14 that there had been an incident with Rocky and a neighbor’s child in your backyard on 7/17/14, we were willing to help, especially since we have helped train both dogs as puppies. You had expressed concern that you thought something may have happened while Rocky was here. We have combed through all of our records and spoken with all of our staff to see if Rocky’s behavior was abnormal or concerning or if anyone witnessed any sort of foul play to any of the dogs in our care. After an extensive effort on management’s part, there is nothing to suggest that Rocky was mistreated in any way while in our care. We did send two of our professional obedience trainers out to your home to conduct a Free Evaluation with Rocky and your family. We felt that having two trainers in the home would be the most beneficial because they would be able to contribute more feedback and ideas to Rocky’s training plan. It is a Paws & Play company practice that any sort of behavior concern and/or modification starts with a Free Evaluation. Jumping into training without collecting all of the details can be dangerous for humans and dogs alike. We know Rocky’s demeanor while he is in our care very well and wanted to know if his demeanor was different outside of the facility. The knowledge that we received during the Free Evaluation with your husband led us to believe that the best course of action for Rocky’s training plan was to do In-Home Private Lessons. Working with him outside of the home environment would not be sufficient for the behavioral concern that you expressed. Our offer of In-Home Private Lessons with our two trainers still stands. I gave your husband dates of availability that we have after your family returns from vacation next week. We believe that Rocky’s behavior during the incident was a response to several new conditions in Rocky’s life. During the Free Evaluation your husband shared with us that you had moved homes while the dogs were staying with us. Rocky was brought home from his stay with us to your new home, in which he had never been in before. You had mentioned that he was under the weather around the same time as well. He was also introduced to a lot of new adults and children within a short amount of time, and it was the 4th of July which can be overwhelming for dogs in its own right. While he may have been resilient to these situations individually, having them pile on top of each other, can be extremely overwhelming to a dog. We also were told that Rocky does growl at some people when he meets them for the first time. While this is not an a-typical response from certain dogs, it can be your first sign of your dog having some insecurity to new people. Rocky and Lola are also very energetic dogs that require a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. It is hard to tell why Rocky made the decision that he did because there were no adults present at the time of the incident to recount the details for the trainers. The only thing that we can go off of is what the children shared with your family at the time. We believe that, in summary, because Rocky moved homes, was ill, introduced to many new stimuli and people, his previous signs of insecurity, his high energy level, and the two week period between him coming home and the incident, he reacted the way he did based out of either fear or frustration. If Rocky had been treated unkindly by any of our staff, he would have shown these behaviors towards adults of either sex. All of our staff is over 18 years of age and only our staff is allowed in the Lodging area and the play spaces where the dogs are kept and exercised. His decision to react this way to a child “randomly” would suggest that his growing insecurity is with children and not adults. If you chose to take Rocky to another trainer or behaviorist, we would be more than willing to supply them with as much information as they would like. We can give them copies of all of Rocky’s charts during his Lodging stays and his paper work and charting regarding his training with us. We would also be willing to answer any questions they may have regarding the way our facility is ran, how he is taken care of here, or any other questions they may have. We would love the opportunity to continue to work with Rocky and your family. They are staff favorites here and we hope to see them again. Please know that we are here for you and your family. Let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you or any questions that you would like answered.

Kind of pricey, but it went really well and despite the fact that my dog was SUPER new to me (adopted less than a month before she was boarded at Paws and Play), it really did help her get started on training. I can see where additional weeks would be very helpful. They were very kind in explaining everything that they'd worked on and offered to answer questions anytime we had them. They also recommended some better toys/dog supplies that would be good for the dog. Pleased with the stay for sure.

We stopped to tour the place a couple of days prior to needing services. The staff was courteous and helpful. We toured the facility; it was in top-notch shape. We subsequently decided to utilize doggy daycare. They gave a report on how our dog did when we picked him up. You can tell the staff enjoy dogs! We will definitely use their doggie daycare service again and have already scheduled 5 days of boarding for when we will be out of town.

Overall it went ok. This was the first time we have used ANY boarding for our young dog, and they made it easier assuring our dog was in good hands. Everyone was very nice, and check in was very professional. The kennel area is nice and clean, but I was a little disappointed in the back fenced in outside area, and backed up to some sort of industrial facility. It seemed really small and not a lot of area that I saw for dogs to run when they are outside. I might have missed some other land that they might have had but because I did not see much running area I decided to suck it up and PAY for a 1 mile leash walk....I was a little confused with having to pay for a walk. It would be nice to have a package you could purchase that included maybe a free dog walk for every two consecutive days of boarding. Overall I would recommend this place for boarding, but next time we might look to try another facility to compare since we are new to the boarding service.

I would not hesitate to bring my dog back to Paws & Play Dog Resort & Training Center. Every interaction I have had with them has been exceptional. We worked with Brandi who was excellent with our dog Miles. Because of her and the team at Paws & Play Dog Resort & Training Center we now have the best behaved dog at our apartment complex and the dog parks where we take Miles. I'm confident that when Miles is of age he will easily transition into passing the Canine Good Citizen test. Miles also attends the day care at Paws & Play Dog Resort & Training Center every Thursday and loves it.
Description of Work: AKC Puppy S.T.A.R Classes (6 1 hour classes).
