The owner came soon after our call and gave us a detailed estimate. It was reasonable in our estimation. He made several good suggestions and discussed in detail our decisions regarding color and texture. He seemed sincerely interested in the project and eager to please. Very professional and easy to talk with. The crew member who did the work was extremely careful and neat. He worked steadily and completed the job in a reasonable amount of time without rushing. His work was excellent! It involved a lot of caulking which looks really nice. He, too, was eager to please. He explained every product and procedure before he did it and asked us to check it when he finished. He was polite and pleasant and professional in his work. He was in touch with the owner several times each day. The owner came at the end and checked everything carefully. They were both perfectionists! We highly recommend DeVries Painting and will be hiring them again for future painting projects!

I would've liked to have seen the owner on the job a little more than he was. Their foreman, Veronic Mecedo, was excellent and good to work with. The price was over $5000.

Josh was very responsive to any requests. His team worked very efficiently. They cleaned up after themselves when they were done. Their prices were very competitive. I would use them again.

I was very happy with Devries. Because I needed the wallpaper removed, there was no way for them to know what shape the walls were in under the wallpaper and how much work it would be. The owner made it clear he couldn't promise how much work was involved because of that but gave a fair price that he said he would not go over. It ended up being the worst case scenario as far as the shape the walls were in and amount of work, but he stuck to his price even though the job took longer than expected. The painter was very nice, professional, clean, respectful -- just a pleasant person. He took pride in his work and both he and the owner made it clear that they just wanted me to be happy. They invited me several times to go over the work carefully and point out anything that needs fixing. The owner came on the last day and also carefully looked over everything and did some work himself. The painter cleaned up everyday.

Hard work, excellent workmanship and great follow up are typical when you deal with Joshua Devries.

Excellent from the estimate to a couple of days later the start of the job to 3 days later the finish of the job. Routine follow-up from Josh relative to how the project was going and any questions, plus explanations of what they were doing and why. Veronica was excellent in starting and completing the work. Clean up was great every day as well. Would use again for any wallpaper and/or paint jobs.

The estimate was done promptly and completed the work as promised and within the budget allowed. The company had drywall repair, corrected crown molding errors from another party and all interior paint requested.

When Joshua provided the estimate he explained in detail what they would do step-by-step. They then proceeded to carry those steps out. They power washed the house and let it dry. Then they prepped the house - sanding, caulking, replacing wood, etc. Then they painted the house and stained the door. Every phase was carried out with care and craftsmanship. Joshua was ever present and full of information as to what they were doing and how it was progressing; as well as performing the work.

We really liked Josh and his presentation, and felt the price he quoted was reasonable. He wasn't going to be able to get to the job for some time, but the time was still within our time frame. However, at the time my brother was very ill, and he subsequently passed away. As a result, all of our home projects were put on hold and we're not yet ready to proceed.

Joshua Devries was one of five companies I had bid on the job. From his in depth survey of the house in preparation for his bid, to the options he provided as part of the bid, and the suggestions and advice he gave along the way, Mr. Devries is the best contractor I have used. He missed nothing. Did exactly what I asked. Applied the best paint work on our house that I have ever had. Worked with me on every aspect of the job. Communication was great. Perfect performance is a good way to describe the work and the results. House is two story brick on bottom, wood siding on top, Fine Stone on front of house. Approximately 2500 Sq. Ft. footprint.

They put additional on additional coats to cover the previous dark color. Their detailing around the wood was excellent.

Joshua was extremely reliable and has a very professional crew. I was impressed with the quality of the carpentry work required to replace multiple rotted boards on the exterior of my house. Joshua even offered to come back for touch-up because he knew that I was also getting ready to replace my roof and deck. I am very satisfied with the finished product. One of my neighbors recently had Joshua do an exterior paint job based on the results at my house. I appreciated that Joshua has a "do not pay until you are completely satisfied" approach.

Fantastic. Joshua walked me through everything he was proposing and would do before work started. At the beginning and end of every day, the team leader asked if there was anything we had noticed that they needed to fix or do over, and we walked around the house together every day to do a joint inspection. As they got to each place where there was damaged wood, they checked with me to discuss different options for repair, and also repeatedly checked to make sure they knew which color I wanted to use, rather than making assumptions. Professionalism and pride in what they were doing were consistent. Joshua committed that once they started work, they would be there every day (unless it rained) until they were finished and met that commitment. The day after the work was complete, Joshua and the team leader came by to do another walk around with me and to collect payment. If everyone worked like this, Angie's List wouldn't be necessary. Cleanup was thorough and was done every day.

Joshua, the owner, was very thorough describing how he would prep, patch and paint when he provided his estimate. He worked us into his schedule to get our painting done before we had new flooring installed. They have an eye for detail and made sure that we were completely satisfied with their work. Joshua and his crew were very professional and completed the job quickly. Devries was competitively priced and I would highly recommend them for any painting need.

Joshua and his crew did a fabulous job. He had done an estimate for us two years ago and we were impressed at that time. When it came time to finally have the work done, he was the only person we called back to give us an updated estimate. He kept us informed of his start date and called the day before to let us know he was coming. They completed the work in a day and he came back that evening to walk the house with us to find out if we needed any changes. One area of the house had been repainted before (by us) and the wood was not very good to begin with-so it was a tough area to repaint. Even though we thought that area was fine, after learning about the nature of the wood, he came back on a Saturday and repainted it-without us asking. They did a wonderful job and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a painter. We will definitely use them again when we need any painting done.

Joshua is very professional and a no-nonsense businessman who gets the job done. He came out to the house and gave us an immediate estimate and was able to get us into his schedule within a couple of weeks. On the scheduled day they showed up right on time and promptly began to work. Periodically throughout the day I'd step outside to check on the progress and Joshua was right there to walk me through and give an update. They were very neat and cleaned up everything when they were done. We had just had landscaping done in the back of the house and all of the shrubs and mulch beds were still in perfect condition after they were done. We had an issue with the paint texture on the exterior doors and he responded quickly to fix the problem. We are very happy with the results. The house and doors look fantastic and we definitely plan on contacting him again for future painting needs.

Devries Painting is one of the best professional service companies I have ever hired. They performed every task outlined in the original contract on or before the time allotted for the project. I have already scheduled them for some interior painting later this year.
