The meeting went very well; got stuff done that was making me so frustrated. Arrived promptly same day as I called! Would definitely call again. Wish I could afford to have him out once a week.

Description of Work: I taught computer science for years and watched the Dell Computers perform in our computer labs under the worst possible circumstances. I am fairly new to Angie's list, but I wanted to put a great word in here.I have 3 Dell Computers and 2 Macs. My son has 2 Dells. We had no problems until 2011. I had purchased the3 year protection plan for not much money. It was a top of the line graphics machine. Dell sent someone to his home to check the problem and then mailed a brand new top-of-the-line graphic computerto his home. It was not the 3 year old model; it was the new one. This was the only problem we ever had, but they came through quickly and fully.

When I purchased this, they charged me twice for the program. I have been trying to receive one of the charges back ever since. The entire company has been little help in receiving the mistaken double charge. I went and cancelled my credit card so they cannot continue to charge me for this. They did repair the computer just fine.
Description of Work: Repaired my computer and I bought a MacAffee Security system.

No problems ordering. The rep gave added additional rebates over the phone. Originally received two sets of speakers and no monitors. This was resolved after contacting the company. I completed the rebate forms, but they never came. I called repeatedly over the course of a month and was just given the run around. I still never received $100 rebate check which I was owed. Bottom line, you can't count on the rebates promised over the phone.
Description of Work: Purchased a computer (8300), speakers, monitor, wireless mouse and keyboard.

They have helped with many different things. I bought a printer and had a problem with it. The first time I was on the phone for about an hour and a half. They sent me a replacement part. They told me they would call between 7:00 and 8:00. They called at 7:10. They were on the phone with me until 10:30, getting the part installed. They never sound like I'm putting them out.
Description of Work: The customer service is phenomenal. I made many calls here after purchasing my computer. I also got a very good deal on my laptop.

Used the website mainly, did call and ask a few questions. Easy process. Cheaper price than I could find elsewhere on-line and in stores. I have had some problems with the computer initially. Base level tech support was NOT helpful. Ask for "escalations" and they are very competent and friendly.

My husband spoke with someone over the phone and really liked the ability to customize the components. The biggest perk was they sent us a detailed outline of all the things we talked about over the phone within 2 days of the initial phone call. The price was very reasonable compared to all the shopping around we had done. The unit came from a delivery service within two weeks, very timely manor! No surprises as far as cost and what we got! Very pleasant buying experience!
Description of Work: We bought a laptop for our daughter who was going to college.

They sent the incorrect item 1st time, second time was missing what I really needed. It was ery hard to reach Dell, and then hard to understand some of their employees broken English.

Description of Work: I PURCHASED A LAPTOP FOR OVER $3,000 AND SPENT AN EXTRA $100 FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. WHEN SOMETHING WENT WRONG WITH MY A/C PLUG CONNECTION INTO THE LAPTOP, THEY TOLD ME I HAD DAMAGED THE COMPUTER, MY WARRANTY WAS INVALID, AND THE REPAIR WOULD COST $700.00 BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE MOTHER BOARD. I CALLED ''NERDS ON CALL''. THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH A PLIER IN ABOUT 20 SECONDS AND TOLD ME IT WAS A ROUTINE PROBLEM, TOO MINOR TO TAKE ANY MONEY FROM ME! DELL REPRESENTATIVES HAD ALSO LIED TO ME TWICE DURING MY EXTENSIVE CONVERSATIONS WITH THEM, TELLING ME THEY WOULD REPAIR THE COMPUTER, FOR EXAMPLE, AND THEN SENDING ME THE COMPUTER BACK UNREPAIRED.
