Description of Work: We had initially contacted this contractor 4+ years ago to obtain bids on having interior repairs done throughout our entire home, due to damages that happened because of a sinking/shifting wall, almost immediately after we closed! For many reasons it took us a L-O-N-G time before our place was ready for its full repairs and during the wait we have hired him to handle many smaller jobs, all successfully. Troy was professional and patient with us throughout the wait and when it was finally time to get the BIG job done he showed up on time on the agreed upon date (he's ALWAYS punctual), reviewed with us what needed to be done and if there was any new information that he may now need, considering the extraordinary length of time between our original agreed upon bid and now; assured us that everything would be taken care of (we were going out of town on an extended business trip, timed so that our home would be empty and he could work) and we left town confident (but admittedly a 'bit' nervous) that he had it all under control. Troy and his assistant had to repair both small and MAJOR drywall cracks ALL throughout our home, some requiring that they finish removing the drywall 'mud" that had already fallen in chunks, exposing the beam underneath, and fully repair the area, replacing the mud, and then paint. We had up to 2" separations between the ceiling and wall in some places and he repaired everywhere that was needed; found a way to quiet the overly creaky floors throughout our condo; after crack repair, some areas needed water damage covered and that was done; a large hole in the ceiling in front of the chimney was repaired (the shifting wall had also caused some leaking); replaced front door; repaired and painted major crossbeam in garage as well as additional cracks throughout that area and painted. Once all of the cracks and (in some cases) gaping holes were repaired, all repaired areas were painted. Installed new bathroom towel bars; repaired grout cracks in ceramic tile floor that we'd had him install 2+ years ago (gorgeous job!) that had occurred due to add'l. settling after sinking wall was jacked up and stabilized. Additional odds and ends. Since we were out of town, we spoke several times by phone if there was a question or just to check in, but we felt confident that our home would be treated by Troy as if it was HIS home, and when we finally arrived back home, after almost 4 wks. away, our place had been transformed! Or, perhaps more accurately, it now looks the way that it's 'supposed' to look: shiny and 'new', without both vertical and horizontal cracks in its ceilings, over and around door jams and windows, and without large chunks of drywall mud missing everywhere you look on beams and corners. Although it would have been a lot more 'fun' to have had major design renovation done, we now have a home that looks as if people live here who care about it (and I won't be embarrassed to have guests over!) and I can't wait to have Troy come back ASAP to put in the new kitchen backsplash that I've been eyeing; now THAT will be a fun job to have done! This one wasn't 'fun' but was crucial, and Troy was extraordinarily PATIENT with us, waiting for us to be able to get started (I know from experience that many contractors wouldn't be as much) and once he got to work he was focused, professional, talented and worked diligently in an effort to be 'completely' finished before we came back to town, which is sometimes impossible when working on such a large job with so many variables, things that can go wrong!) so that we wouldn't be inconvenienced any longer than absolutely necessary. Now that we've finally gotten our BIG job done, I'm looking forward to getting him back here to do some of that 'fun', design stuff that he and I have been talking about, on and off, for years!
