They did a good job and we will use them again.

I was disappointed in the beginning because they caught other animals, but not the ground hog. Without them asking me, they put another trap down and in about two days they caught the ground hog.

Very well. The technician was very personable. She reassured me that the termites would be taken care of. She was a little late coming, but called to let me know she would be late. This was very considerate. Another technician came later that afternoon to perform the treatment. He inspected the areas in question, explained the process, then proceeded with his work. It only took him about 30 to 40 minutes. Except for the termites, it was a very pleasant experience.

I decided to try ant bait that I found at a local store for $1.98. It worked, and I have not seen an ant. I saved $168.

The city trash dumpsters in our alley are frequently mis-used and in the summer of 2006 rats took advantage and spread to our neighborhood. When the weather turned cool, they started chewing into the mortar of our 100-year-old house's stone foundation. Varment Guard confirmed that they had many such calls from our neighborhood, most callers aghast at the problem, since it had never happened here before. Troy came on time, within 48 hours of our call, was conscientious about our pets, and made every effort to explain to us what was safe and not safe for our two dogs and cat. The treatment was effective within two weeks, faster than anticipated. Rat damage ceased and no further rats have been found or seen.

Very well. Estimate, installation and then subsequent removal were done promptly and courteously. Very pleased. So far, so good. No reappearance of bats in the house.

Varment Guard was very responsive. When Squirrels were heard in attic, I called on a Saturday, they were able to come out Monday Morning. Kyle was the employee & came every day for three weeks until all squirrels were caught cleaned out attic & repaired the opening. Even though they caught more squirrels than the estimate, no additional charge & he and his associates were very courteous & kept me informed. Hopefully, I will not need them again, but they will be who I call if needed. Thanks Kyle!

Very well. Both appointments went smoothly and each time the representative arrived early (a definite plus). They told me that I could expect a "swarm" and to see ants for a couple days while they took the bait from the traps. Since Varment Guard visited my house, I have yet to see one (alive) ant. Very professional, and a very good job. I would use them again.

I was not happy with the service. I thought that the cage they brought was too small for the squirrel and they had to keep coming back. I called the manager to complain, but he was out of town and wasn't able to return my call until later in the process. When the manager came back into town he brought a bigger cage to my house an caught the squirrel right away. However, they left the squirrel in the cage on my roof for about a week before they came to take him away. Each time someone came to my house they were suppose to leave a note on the door, but I only received a note on the day that they caught the squirrel. When I received the bill, it was written down the days and times they came, but I don't have any proof of that. I also didn't like that I had to pay half of the money up front.

He gave me an estimate of $295 to set traps on the outside of the house. I told them before someone came out, and when he was there that I had chipmunks in the house. It did not make since to set traps outside when they were inside. The guy said they were getting in from downspout drains. He did not check dryer vent, dog door or chimney cap. Did not make sense that the downspout drain he was referring to was the corner of the other unit s garage. I thought this company was an expert in animal removal.

A neighbor came over and told us that something could be done about the grubs. I called Varment Guard and told them to come get their traps. They picked up the traps on the 10th. We are really upset with this company. We spoke with Jennifer on the 11th and said we would like some of our money back. Chris (my partner) called and spoke to Brad who said they were going to keep the money b/c they did half of the work. Again, we are upset b/c we feel like they cheated us. Brad said they did the work and that they were keeping the money. He refused. Yesterday, the 13th of December, we received a bill for the balance with finance charges added to it. I called them back to speak to Jennifer who said she would have to speak to her supervisor. Kristin Lahmon (the supervisor) said she would call back. I am still waiting for that call. They should NOT have sent the bill. The only reason we agreed to use this company was b/c they said there was nothing we could do until the following spring.

It went well, so far as I can tell.

A staff member came to identify the problem and provide an estimate the day after I called. He said we had a bird nesting under the tub, and he set up a time for a removal team to come the next day. That team was scheduled to come in the morning, but they did not show up until 9 in the evening. They saw no evidence of birds or a nest under the tub, and they left after suggesting the problem must be squirrels, but that another consultation would be necessary in order to obtain an estimate on that type of problem. It took two days to get another visit for an estimate, and then traps were put in place on the exterior of our home. Two red squirrels were captured over the course of a two week period, wherein we had contact with the staff from Varment Guard only twice, other than when we called to ask that an animal be removed. (We were told that staff would leave a card each day to indicate a visit, but that did not occur.) After the trapping time, the entry point was sealed.

Things went very well. What was represented was done as promised in the time line given. I did shop this same system with another Angie's list company and found this company to have a much better price for the same system.

They came out as scheduled, inspected the house, and put out baits. The baits were not effective, so they came back and put poison in the walls where we were hearing noises- within a couple days we had no more problems and we have had no problems with mice since then.

I was very pleased with Varment Guard employees, Brad who identified the problems and prepared an estimate and Mike who solved the problems.

Great. The tech who comes to my house knows me by name and is super friendly and helpful.

They initially diagnosed the problem as mice. When they did not catch any, they did another inspection and discovered more evidence and determined that the problem was a squirrel. They charged me for both services even though it seemed that they may have misdiagnosed the first time. They did give me a $40 discount on the squirrel service. They explained that animal removal is not an exact science. They never did catch a squirrel either, but repaired the section of the roof where it was getting in. The animal problem disappeared so apparently the rodent found another home. They did come by very regularly to check their traps and leave reports with the tenant.

The representative from Varment Guard thoroughly inspected the roof and possible entry points. I asked him to check the attic itself and he readily agreed. After inspecting the attic, he was upfront with me. He did not see any entry points and was of the opinion that the sounds I heard were actually on the roof (crows, specifically) and not "in" the attic. Highly recommend this company and I would quickly hire them for any animal removal I might need in the future.

They had good communication and did quick work.

Varment Guard came out and I contracted with them to set traps for two weeks, to catch the groundhogs living under our barn. I was promised a 30 day guarantee would follow this two week trapping period. I asked for a written copy of this guarantee and I was assured, I would receive it after the two weeks. I thought that was unusual, but figured they were a big enough company, that they were on the up and up. They trapped and removed two groundhogs. They picked up the traps on a Friday, even though the original contract extended through the following Monday. We were not home at that time and they did not leave a copy of the guarantee. Two weeks later when we saw another groundhog. When I called the company, the receptionist checked our records and said we were still under warranty. Then another representative called back and told me that, there was no guarantee, because they had captured two of the groundhogs.

Very good experience. They came out and assessed the situation and set non-lethal traps. The critter proved to be very difficult to trap but they continued to monitor and visit periodically. Eventually it was trapped and they moved it to safer area. I marked the price as an "A", but didn't really do any comparisons so I don't know if this is competitive or not. Their service was great.

The technician was prompt and friendly. I was disappointed that he was unable to find where the mice were entering the house, so he couldn't close the holes. He did indicate they may be entering under the front porch, but repairing that problem was outside the scope of what he could do. The service seems a little pricey for less than one hour of work, but the technician was knowledgeable and professional.
