They walked us through each step of the process and continued checking in after we hit delays in selling our other home. They even paid a lot of the costs for us to re-lock our loan because of the delays. We felt cared for through the entire process. HIGHLY recommended.

 + -1 moreGetting them to lock the rate was our idea not theirs. They mentioned we should do this around a specific time period but never followed up. When I called to inquiry about the timing of the lock, the gentleman acted hesitant. I thought it was HIS job to protect us from volatility not MINE. One question that was never fully answered was whether they hold accreditation with a large panel of lenders or not. In our opinion, a good broker gives the client a checklist. This ensures that all necessary documentation is received prior to the closing date to prevent any delays. We encountered a delay because of paperwork and had to cancel our movers. We fully expected to have access to all final documents to be used at the closing. We had no opportunity to read them until we sat down at the title company. In the past we had these at least 2 full days prior to closing. If anyone reading this hasn't purchased a home since the Patriot's Act was adopted then get ready! I guess we thought the changes would be explained to us thoroughly. The changes are vast and quite intrusive. We take responsibility for our part of this failed relationship. You need to educate yourself and not rely on perceived "good" loan officers. Because of the failure of our existing home to sell, we had to scramble at the last minute to secure our down payment money. DO NOT DO THIS! Have your money ready at LEAST 2 weeks prior to closing.

 + -1 moreMy husband and I were scheduled to close on a home March 28 with Union Savings as our lender. We were so displeased with their service throughout the process that we decided to change lenders only 10 days prior to our anticipated closing date. We had concluded that even though it appeared Union Savings could close on our home on time, we did not want a long term relationship with the company. Our realtor had recommended MAK Team initially, and we wish we gone with them from the beginning. They took on our last minute loan with professionalism, honesty and efficiency. Mark and his team have finance and legal backgrounds and were obviously well versed in the realm of home financing, leaving us much more confident in their work than we were with Union Savings. Even though loans through Access are sold, Mark remains our point of contact for any questions about our loan. At the end of the day, we may have paid a little more in closing costs (although it's hard to tell as we never knew the final Union Savings closing costs), but we had peace of mind that we were in good hands. I highly recommend this team!

 + -1 moreMark and his team were absolute professionals through out my very long drawn out and difficult process. After an initial referral from my realtor, Dan Irish, I met with Mark at his Carmel office. I can relate the total experience to shopping at Nordstroms. THere are very few businesses that take customer service to heart and from the lady answering the phone to dealing with Mark in person I was thoroughly impressed. I did not have an easy ordeal, in fact it was really, really difficult up to the closing table. However, Mark did everything humanly possible to keep me informed and in the end make this deal happen. I will and have referred Mark and his team and can honestly say that without them I am not sure I would be in my home without them.

Description of Work: My wife and I are friends with a Chinese family who do not speak english. My wife, being Asian, translates for them and we have been assisting them in purchasing a home. My realtor, Dan Irish, arranged a meeting with The MAK Team, Access National Mortage, to pre approve them. When the credit reports came back, one of the 3 reporting credit bureaus was showing a judgement and outstanding balance owed for a significant amount of money, which did not belong to them and would have kept them from obtaining a mortgage. I made many, many phone calls over a couple of weeks to the credit reporting agency, attorneys, etc, etc and got absolutely nowhere. Everyone pointed me in a different direction and said there was nothing they could do for me. I called Patty Barkley at Access National, who was handling this account, and told her of my frustration and did she have any insights or suggestions as to how I could clear this off their record. Patty took charge and long story short, was able to ferret out where this erroneous report came from and got it removed from their credit report. This took her days and many phone calls to accomplish yet she persevered. She called me and kept me appraised of her progress numerous time. Customer service in today's world seems to be a phrase but not an actuality. Not the case here. Our friends own a restaurant and have little time to go anywhere. Mark Kuchik came to their restaurant and met with them after 9:00 at night and Patty cleared a blemish from their credit that was undeserved and hindering them.  + -1 moreMy wife and I were first time home buyers relocating from out of state. We first contacted a big name bank for pre-approval, but did not get the personal attention we wanted. In fact they never even followed up with us to see if we wanted to go through with the loan application. Then our real estate agent recommended us to Misi at Access National. We couldn't have been more satisfied. Her schedule was extremely flexible and she even met us at her office on a Sunday morning to discuss the mortgage process so that I could catch a flight that afternoon. We also enjoyed the Tuesday afternoon updates. Every Tuesday she would give us a call and provide us with status updates, as well as answer any questions we may have. Misi and the MAK Team helped make buying our first home an easy and painless process. She even contacted us a few weeks after we moved in to make sure things were going well. In all, we were extremely happy and highly recommend Misi and the MAK Team!

I really apppreciated his honesty, and not trying to sell me something that he knew wouldn't be in my best interest. He recommended another option for me, which I investigated and it turned out to be just what I was looking for. Great to find someone with this kind of integrity.

 + -1 moreIt was service like I ve never experienced before. What made it such a great experience is that they handled everything. They handled the lenders, the paper work, setting things up with the title company and all the other paperwork. We really had no paper work that we needed to deal with on our own except for the stuff they needed us to sign.They also do a weekly telephone call with you to give you an update to see if you have any questions. They do that with the realtors as well. They will check up with us in about a year to make sure everything is ok with the loan and there are not issues. Any questions or issues we had, we called them and they dealt with it.
Description of Work: They handled everything from meeting with us, to doing the credit check, to securing the mortgages that we needed for our new house purchase.

 + -1 moreHands down, the MAK mortgage team's level of service, attention to detail, and personal touch just cannot be beat. They couldn't have helped me feel more comfortable in my first home buying experience and two refinances. Mark and the team took EXTRA time to frame the big picture and then explain all the details where appropriate. The team was not at all afraid to tell it like it is, and did so in a way that was always both "business AND personal". In other words, they have never directed me down a financial path for their own benefit, nor did they move forward in a process until I clearly understood the why/what/how of the process. I also had quite an attractive builder incentive, but knew that it was only a matter of time before I'd refinance with the MAK Mortgage team for a better interest rate. Lastly, although Mark and his team are very busy {working hard for their clients, so bear with them}, they ALWAYS provided timely and encouraging newsletter, email, and phone communications.
Description of Work: In 2002 I purchased my first home using Mark and the MAK mortgage team. Since then I have trusted in them to help refinance my first home (2005) AND once I moved to my new home, they helped me refinance the builder provided mortgage to get a better interest rate and monthly payment (2007).

 + -1 moreMark and everyone on his staff was courteous, professional, knowledgeable and responsive. Our Realtor was very impressed that one of the staff called every week to keep her updated on how things were going. She said that usually she had to make multiple calls to find out any information, so this was a welcome change. All staff that we came into contact with were great and they didn't treat us like a number. For example, when we came to the office to sign the application and other forms, there was a big, festive welcome sign with our names on it. This business, to me, personifies the meaning of customer service.
Description of Work: MAK Mortgage provided complete financing for our newly purchased home. Given that we had a house to sell and then had to find another one, things were rather hectic. Mark was very professional, personable and knowledgeable. He guided us through the whole process and was very responsive from start to finish. After waiting for three weeks, we found another mortgage broker who helped us close on our home in only ten days. Mark did finally contact us after we had already closed and he worked very hard at trying to persuade us to give him another chance, but we decided that it was just too late. If he had come to us a week or so sooner with the offer we would have gladly allowed him to help us with the refinance because he found us a great offer, it was just too late. I believe that he has learned from our experience and I would give him another try.
