Mathew Appliance Repair

I contacted John Mathews on Thurs, Feb. 10 after experiencing a problem with my washing machine. He returned my call promptly and arrived at my home approximately 2 hours later. He quickly diagnosed the problem, a failing drain pump. He ordered the part, which arrived the following Monday, Feb. 14. He called early the morning of Feb. 14 and scheduled an appointment to replace the pump later the same day. He arrived as scheduled and replaced the part. The appliance is now working well. I can't say enough about his prompt response and service. I used Mathews Appliance several years ago for another large appliance repair and highly recommend him.

We were extremely happy with the services. On the first call, Mr. Mathew stated he would come on the same day and he arrived before I could due to travel time from my work. It was 4:30 to 4:45 and he was done by 5:30. We called him within 2 days about additional repair or replacement on other appliances and he came on the next day, repaired each of the appliances and all are working quietly. We would definitely call him again. He is extremely prompt, professional and pleasant.

Overall it went well. They were very flexible with the time. We were lucky enough to just have a latch broken that was easy enough to fix without having to order parts!

The problem was difficult to diagnose, being either of two things or both. Both parts replaced and through no fault of John's a defective new part was provided necessitating another visit and replacement which worked. John persevered and was very amenable to getting the job done correctly and making sure it was done right. He is very easy to work with and forthright.

he pulled it out and tested it. determined the motor was burned out. called to price replacement and suggested might be better to replace. put it all back. was satisfied with his work even though he wasnt able to fix the problem.

All services were performed perfectly and just as important, the repairs remain working months and years later. So I did not need to replace any appliances and they were repaired for a reasonable price. John is always on time, is friendly and explains the repair.

Mathew Appliance Repair came out to our house and spent time troubleshooting our dryer. They discovered that the problem was the dryer vent. Since they don't clean dryer vents, he gave me a list of recommendations for how to get it fixed. The recommendations ranged from simple DIY solutions, to more professional/complex solutions. And he recommended other companies and resources that could help me out every step of the way. They were on time, honest, and fair, and the dryer works now.

John was polite and efficient. Repaired the motor coupler in the machine. Cost was very reasonable. I would definitely use him again.

He informed us we are using the wrong type of detergent and we needed to use a finish when the dishwasher was running. He gave a $5 Angie's List discount.

Water remained in dishwasher after using. Dryer had been making noises for quite awhile. Mathew came out did not have the parts. Ordered them and came back and replaced them. Both are working fine now. He didn't give much notice on the second trip, but everything worked out.

We were pleased that he was able to come the next day. He knew what the problem was before he came because he had asked us questions over the phone. He also cleaned up after he had fixed the refrigerator.

The service was prompt, professional, and very affordable. It was certainly less expensive than getting a new dishwasher, which is what we thought might be necessary. I highly recommend this company.

Everything went great. He would be the first one to call if any other appliance goes bad.

It was a great experience. I called them and he asked when I was available, I told him that I was available now and he was out within 30 minutes. He was very professional. He had all of the parts he needed on his van and worked very quickly. I mentioned that our dishwasher went out and he took a look at it and ran it for us as well. He gave us some great advise as we would like to replace the dishwasher. He told us about what he has seen with different manufacturers. He gave us the pros and cons of the different bonus features and even told us what we should expect to spend. We were very impressed with his work, timeliness and the cost. He even gave us an Angie's List discount.

I called in the morning to make an appointment & he was able to get me in the same day. Showed up on time & finished the job in less then 30 minutes.

I called Mathew Appliance Repair when our refrigerator was no longer cooling. He was able to come out almost immediately. He diagnosed the problem and quickly repaired it. The problem was someone left the fridge open overnight and it caused it to malfunction. $45 of the charge was for parts and the rest for tax and labor.

He stated that he still needed to charge me for a ?service charge? of $43.50 because because he pays Angie's List over $300 a month. I told him he should have discounted the trip charge or something because I have used him in the past and on this particular visit he didnt do anything. In response, he real flippantly said ?file a report?. I said ?let me think of something for my $43.50, and I asked him how to clean the refrigerator icemaker plastic portion?. Then he flippantly said, ?my rates go up the longer I'm here.? Last time I had him here to do work, he left a bolt off in the freezer. I was going to have him put that back on but I couldn?t find the bolt.

Our major complaint was given both myself and my husband work, it was difficult to gain a specific day and relative time for the work to be done. This job required2 visits to our home, one to initially assess the problem and the second after ordering the parts, coming to install. Both times it was hard to pin down a time he would schedule us in. I realize schedules are tight, but he should be able to identify a day and either morning or afternoon. Because we were on hold, it affected our schedules and daily routine for almost 1 week while our washing machine was not working.We have used Matthews Appliance Repair before with great results and would use him again, this was just not a good experience this time and I would ask John to be more cognizant of those who are working and having to take time off from work to stay home for the repairs.

Refrigerator suddenly stopped cooling, 2 days before Thanksgiving with a load of food in it. Contacted Mr. Matthew @ 8 am when he opened. He was sympathetic and promised to find parts before scheduling the appt. Called @ 11 and then came @ 2. Had to work around our remodeling crew, but did so with great patience. All was done within 90 minutes and he left with check in hand.

Refrigerator/freezer not cooling. Mr. Mathew quickly and accurately assessed the problem and replaced the faulty starter. He also made sure that the compressor was working correctly and that there was nothing else affected. He is knowledgeable, prompt and professional and I will recommend him to my friends and family.

Finally decided to have the refrigerator looked at since the constant water buildup in the refrigerated section was becoming a problem that wasn't solved through adjustments of the temperatures. Called Matthew Appliance Repair and received an answering machine but to my surprise I was promptly called back about 5 minutes later with an explanation that he was just leaving a previous service job and was unable to answer at that time. We discussed my schedule for the day and were able to work out a good time for the repair visit. It was fantastic that I was able to receive service on the same day I called. Upon arrival I was greeted in a very professional and friendly manner and was told right away that he expected the fix to take about 30 minutes. He was very considerate of my schedule and the repair of the drain and installation of the drain heater was all completed as estimated. He cleaned up after himself and the Angie's list coupon was honored. Overall this was a great experience and I will be using the company again if I need to have a refrigerator or washer/dryer serviced.

Prompt reply, On Time for service call, Professional, Reasonable prices...highly recommend!!

Washer appeared not to work when we went thru normal starting starting procedure. Called John who we've had twice before for different equipment. He came next day. Looked immediately for obstructions to door closing operation. Found one of two screws which secures washer to counter top from below had worked itself partly out. One would not normally look for this be it can't be seen without looking under counter. This screw was blocking door from closing thus not locking in place to start washer. Corrected screw and washer started normally. Recommend without qualification.

John is very profesional. He is very responsive. I've used him several times and is almost always out the same day as I call him. He always calls back quickly and is very honest. The repair for the dishwasher today was about the same price as a new one and he was the first to tell me that. He will be call on in the future by me.
