Mathew Appliance Repair

I called at about 4:00 on a Tuesday and John was able to fit me into his schedule at about 1:00 the next day. He was able to tell me what he thought the problem was and advised me of the price so I could decide whether to repair it or just buy a new washer. But he also told me that it was fine to continue using the machine without the expensive repair and just replace it when it completely quits. I appreciated the advice and his honesty.

Very good service. Mr. Mathew arrived on time, did the necessary work, and the fee charged was reasonable.

He came to our house; had just used the part we needed in prior house so had to leave - I don't remember exactly but he returned the same day later or the next day with part - next day actually. The dryer works perfectly now - he did a great job!

I needed to schedule a couple of weeks in advance, due to my travel schedule. Other providers were unwilling to commit that far ahead. Matthews scheduled and kept the date. They also asked me to provide the dryer make and model ahead of time, and describe the problem in detail, so that they could bring parts that might be needed. I greatly appreciated these time savers, which turned out to be exactly what was needed. The tech was professional, timely and resolved all of the issues with my electric dryer.

The refrigerator stopped working sometime while we were out of town. The freezer was still operating. My wife researched possible causes of the problem and we were able to get the refrigerator working until we could get the source of the problem (thermostat) permanently fixed. We talked with John and explained what problems we observed. He ordered the parts and came out a few days later when the parts came in. While John was fixing the refrigerator he showed us the old thermostat that had been replaced some time ago. It was the wrong part gerry-rigged to fit. The part went out which caused the problem. John replaced the thermostat with the right part. We are happy with his work and will call Mathew Appliance the next time we require appliance repair services.

I was disappointed with the diagnosis and having to purchase a new refigerator but would call Matthews again.

He was really good. His price was really fair. He was very thorough and personable. He worked really hard. He explained everything to me. He did a good job and fixed my problem. The only one bad thing about him was that when I called him, I didn't receive a call back immediately and I had to call him again. He was very polite and nice. He knew exactly what he was doing. I didn't have any problem with my dishwasher after that. I would use him again in the future too.

John came out the same morning I called and repaired my Whirlpool Duet front-load washing machine. He determined the drain pump needed to be replaced, had the part on his truck, and was able to make the repair quickly and efficiently. I was so grateful for his quick response! I will definitely call him again in the future.

Our oven was taking a very, very long time to bake. Call Matthew Appliance because we had used him in the past to repair our washing machine. He knew on the phone what part we probably needed. He came the next day & it was the right part & he repaired the oven. While he was at our home we had him look at our refrigerator because the water dispenser had stopped working. He told us what it needed & ordered the part. Came back in a week or 2 to fix. Very good experience!

Called Matthew App on Monday moring due to clothes dryer not heating up. They returned my call promptly and visited my home the same day to correct the problem. Owner of the company actually completed the service. he was professional and quick to assess &correct the problem. He suggested different methods for usage of the dryer which may help the life expectency some. Seemed to have a high level of integrity and trust. Bill for service call and repair was under $150.00. I would call him back in the future should there be any other concerns with major appliances in the home.

He was very honest to his opinion to what was wrong with the washer. He could have made a special order for parts that would have run to hundreds of dollars.. He just tried out something and wanted to see if it worked. That is what he did and it took him just five minutes to do it and he showed me how to do it if the problem recurred again. So far so good. He was also very efficient and on time. The $65 was just the standard rate for service call and there was no parts ordered or anything. I was happy with that. I will use him in the future.

John is excellent. I found him on Angie's List and he responded quickly. I explained what had occurred, gave him the name, model number & details of the range. He came out the very next day to assess the situation. He determined that the lower bake element needed to be replaced. He did try to bring an element with him but there were none in Indy, and before he ordered one from Ohio (the closest place), he wanted to make sure that was what was wrong. Not only did he find that the bake element had burned out but also that a grounding wire had never been connected or had become dislodged and he fixed that also. He returned within 5 days with a new element and replaced it in short time. John is very professional, honest and reliable. I will definitely use him again and recommend him without hesitation. The charges I paid included his regular service call fee, labor and the cost of the replacement part. All charges were reasonable and fair.

It went well. The frige is still running today. What I liked most about him was that he spoke to me in a way that helped me understand what was wrong without talking down to me. His communication skills were fabulous.

I don't think he fixed the problem, but it is my opinion that it is going to be cheaper to just wait for my machine to fail, and replace it, than to keep having him try to repair it. This is due to the age of my machine (about 8 years old, a front loaded Whirlpool Duet washer.

I contacted John Mathews on Thurs, Feb. 10 after experiencing a problem with my washing machine. He returned my call promptly and arrived at my home approximately 2 hours later. He quickly diagnosed the problem, a failing drain pump. He ordered the part, which arrived the following Monday, Feb. 14. He called early the morning of Feb. 14 and scheduled an appointment to replace the pump later the same day. He arrived as scheduled and replaced the part. The appliance is now working well. I can't say enough about his prompt response and service. I used Mathews Appliance several years ago for another large appliance repair and highly recommend him.
