John was actually early for the appointment and everything went very smoothly.

One of the two plastic hinges for the clothes washer lid broke. I called Matthew Applicance and left a description of the problem, the washer ID number and my contact number. He called back in a reasonable period of time to confirm the information. I communicated we were not in an emergency situation as the lid still worked with the one hinge, but that I wanted both hinges replaced. He said he would check on the parts and his schedule and get back with me to schedule the repair, which he did. He called and came to the house within a couple days, which was actually a quicker response than I expected. He knew what he was doing. The repair took no longer than 15 minutes or so. The lid and the machine work fine now. The only point of dissatisfaction was that he walked up our snow covered sidewalk to get to the front door. When I answered the door I noticed he didn't make any attempt to cover or remove his shoes. I asked him if he had footies or would mind removing his shoes. He responded that he did not have footies, they were just another cost, and that he preferred not to remove his shoes. I thought this was very unprofessional in that 1) I was standing there on our wood floor in my stocking feet and 2) other service people that enter our house routinely either remove their shoes or put footies over them without being asked. I didn't press the point, but told him to stay put as I went to get a towel to place on the floor for him to dry his shoes off on.

I highly recommend this repair service. I will definitely use as needed.

The repairman was knowledgable and willing to return to fix an alignment problem that surfaced after the initial repair. Our only concern with this experience was that he was extremely evasive about pricing as well as fixing an exact date and time for the repair to take place. This was a bit unsettling. In the end, we paid substantially more for parts than we were quoted by other Angie's List providers. Unfortunately, we did not find this out until we were writing the check.

One of the burners in the upper part of our double oven was not working. " Ain't go time for that" I called A. L. and got three references and chose this provider. After phone calls to set a work time, the oven was examined. The oven required a controller motor that needed to be ordered. Three days later, Mathew arrived and put two controller motors in. The work required lengthy analysis and he was successful. This provider was courteous, honest, and easy to work with. I would both recommend and use again this provider.

Mr. Mathew explained to me when he found the source of the leaking that the 10-year-old Maytag washing machine I had was better than most new ones on the market. He explained that if it was him, the $260 repair was better spent than purchasing a new machine. I felt comfortable with his explanation of the rationale for repair, and I confidently asked him to repair the machine. It has worked wonderfully since then.

the serviceman informed me that the repair on the ball bearing would cost almost as much as a new machine. he explained how the change in design of the front loaders resulted in this poor engineering flaw. I appreciated his honesty and also found many reviews online explaining the same thing. He said i could continue to use the machine until the bracket broke. 6 months later I am still using the same machine. It has a loud roar in the spin cycle, but other than that, still functions.

The oven did not work after running a self-cleaning cycle. I called Mathews Applicance Monday morning and John was at my home Monday early afternoon. The stove had to be pulled comletely out and the back had to be removed. There is a safety switch way inside that had to be reset. John then tested it, twice, to be sure it was operating correctly. The back had to be replaced and the stove moved back into place. This is the second time I have used Mathews Appliance Repair and I will use them again. The price seemed very fair, John is professional and courteous.

John responded quickly to the voicemail message I left him. He arrived on time, fixed both the dryer and the stove very promptly, and charged a fair and reasonable price for his work. He was friendly, personable and professional, and I will definitely call John again if we have any issues with our appliances in the future.

I identified Mathew Appliance Repair because of it's high Angie's list rating. After describing the clothes washer problem to the owner, he scheduled an appointment, did research on my specific machine and purchased parts for the probable repair. The appointment went well because he was on time, knowledgeable and efficient. The repair was expensive because the electronic control center was replaced. The labor charge seemed quite reasonable. Overall, this was a very satisfactory experience.

The technician said he serviced my area (NW Indy near Eagle Creek), but said it was on the outskirts of the area he serviced. I had a window of availability 3 days out from 8am-3pm, but he said he could not commit to that window, and would need an all day window. I didn't have the model number on hand, but told him I could get it to him, but he seemed disinterested in the work due to the location, despite attempts to change around dates to make it more convenient for him. I recently lost my handyman who helps with my rental properties, and have been looking for good new people to help out. I was disappointed he didn't want the work since the reviews are good. While I appreciate his honesty in not wanting to take on the work due to location, I think that he should probably alter the location he says he services since it's not a true representation of the work he will take on.

Great - Fixed Ice Maker

I have used Mathew appliance in the past and without question will continue to use them. I called Mathew and left a message. He called me back the next day. I told him that my KitchenAid dishwasher was not drying the dishes. Rather than simply schedule an appointment and come out he asked me the make and model of my dishwasher and then asked me if the Jetdry dispenser was empty. I checked and sure enough it was empty. He told me to fill it and see if that would fix the problem. I did and sure enough the dishwasher is back to drying. In all my years of dealing with service companies I know that it is rare where a honest techinician will call you back and work with you to ensure a service visit is necessary. I just wish I could consistently find other service providers like Mathew Appliance. This is a solid company and I would give them an A+ across the board if I could.

This is the second time I've called them to look a our oven. The first time it worked when he got to our house. It is an intermittent problem. This time he came out and took several parts off to see if changing anything made a difference. He then talked to whirlpool and tried some of their suggestions. We talked about what I wanted to do, I wasn't sure if the repairs were worth it or if I should just get a new range. I decided to just get the new range rather than risk it. He gave thoughts of make to look for and avoid. Very professional service. Would use again.

I left a message for John on a Sunday. He returned my call first thing Monday morning and was out the next day, Tuesday to do the repairs. The sink disposal was straightforward but the stovetop had some potential issues. He explained the variables and gave his opinion on best way to proceed. He was exactly right and fixed the stovetop with no problem.

John is professional, honest, and reliable. I trust his judgement and know that he always tries to do the right thing for the customer. I have used him for many years and always recommend him to my friends and neighbors.

He fixed out dryer (again!) saving us a lot of money over a new one. He has done several appliance repairs for us and each time he does a great job. Always friendly and very professional. And we've never had something that he couldn't fix.

I called and scheduled a time for Mr. Mathew to come and inspect our dishwasher. After trying a couple of things, he determined it wasn't getting enough water. Upon further investigation, he discovered the appliance was never installed properly and there was a big kink in the main water line. He did not have all of the parts he needed, and scheduled another time to come back. I don't think it was normal for him to do an install of an appliance, but we were very appreciative of his time and effort.

John was responsive and was able to get out the same day to repair our ice maker. He was courteous and helpful.

From the time we called, to the time the dryer was fixed, we were 100% satisfied! The service exceeded our expectations so when our ice make was on the fritz a month later we called again and were equally as pleased! This place is the best!! Beats big box store service hands-down!
