Darrell & Carol Munchel are the owners of A-1 Garage Doors, Inc. They and their family have been dedicated to bringing to the public the best in quality and service since 1988. Darrell has made his career in the garage door industry for over thirty years. He started out as an installer and has spent over twenty years as a business owner as well. He is the current president of the Indiana Garage Door & Operator Association (IGDOA), which keeps him on the cutting edge of advances in garage door services and technology. Our professional installers are full-time employees, trained by us to maintain our high standards. We employ no subcontractors. We install garage doors in new construction and replace doors in existing structures. We removed and haul away existing door, track, and hardware. Reconnect existing opener and install proper bracing for the door. Install woodgrain vinyl weather seal. Replace extension and torsion springs. We repair all brands of garage doors and openers.

Great experience. Steve called ahead to see if it was ok to arrive early which was great. He was very nice and quickly got to work. He installed two new springs lickety-split. Would definitely use A-1 again.

It went fantastic! We relied on another company for years. But when they came out to fix it this time, we just did not like the response from them. So looked on Angie's List, and found this company. Great find! When I called in, they were superlative. And when Steve came out today exactly on time, he looked at the problem in a much better, more honest way. He explained things clearly and accurately, and had genuine concern for our questions. He fixed the door in a much better, less expensive way than had been presented us before. We will use A-1 again, and recommend them to everyone. Could not ask for a better experience. Thanks, Steve!

Carol was very pleasant, helpful, and straight forward on the phone. Steve arrived on time gave an estimate and explanation for the job and performed the work. Garage door is functioning perfectly again. Very pleased with every aspect of this company!

A1 was fantastic! Especially Carol! She stayed on top of the spare door panel order and fit me into their schedule! She made it happens and was good for her word!
Description of Work: A1 Garage Door provided excellent customer service by providing estimates/options to replace the lower section of the garage door that was damaged or full replacement! They were able to locate a panel section of my garage door and expedite the order and delivery! They also scheduled install the day after instead of waiting another week! Carol was fantastic!

Tech arrived on time and quickly serviced our garage door. We need screws tightened and our door ranges reset so that it would close all the way. It is much quieter now as well.

We took possession of the house on a Wednesday and A-1 GARAGE DOORS INC came out on Thursday to do the installation. The receptionist stated that Steve could do the install without me or my husband being there. So i didn't have to take off work, which was REALLY NICE! Steve came to the house and lifted the door manually and did the install. When he was done, he left the remotes in the garage. He left the garage clean and the opener works AMAZINGLY! We appreciate A-1 GARAGE DOORS INC coming out and doing the installation for us! if we ever have an issues and need work done on our garage door, they will be the first people I call!!
Description of Work: My husband I just built a house in the Center Grove area. As a house warming gift, we were giving a very nice garage door opener (we did not purchase one when building that house). I was looking for someone to come out to the house and install the new opener. My parents recommend a company that they have used in the past. I called them and they told me that they don't install openers that they dont sell. Being a little frustrated, I got on Angie's List and found A-1 GARAGE DOORS INC. They had great reviews and the Super Service Award, so they were my top pick. I called and they confirmed that they would be more than happy to install the opener (and a lot cheaper than i thought they where going too!)

A1 was dispatched to our home by the 2-10 Home Warranty. I was very impressed with the company and their technician Steve! Steve was super professional and polite and got us back in service in no time. He was able to work with our old garage door and fix it / adjust it the best he could given house settling etc. In the end, we did not have to pay anything extra over the warranty deductible. A1 made our door not only functional but safe to use again. We will use them in the future for any non-warranty work needed as well! I am not including the cost since we don't know how much the service call would have been if we had gone direct with A-1.

The serviceman arrived as scheduled and was very professional and friendly. He replaced all the rollers on both doors which made them much quieter. He worked on the door that was not working properly and fixed it. I was so pleased.
Description of Work: I purchased the $99 garage door tune-up and roller replacement for my two garage doors. Both doors we very noisy and one od the only worked part of the time.

I had a tension spring break on one of my garage doors. A-1 is local and ranked highly on Angie's List so I gave them a call. They had someone lined up for the next day, scheduled to show up between noon and 1pm. At 11:50, their technician showed up and by 12:20pm was gone, leaving me with a working garage door. He was kind, very professional, and extremely competent. A-1 will be the first company I call for garage door needs going forward.

He did a great job and he is very good. He is probably the only overhead garage door guy in Bargersville. He came on time and was really good about telling me what needed to be repaired. He had replaced some springs that had broken. I felt like he was really honest and didn't try to talk me into replacing the whole unit. He gave me comparison prices.

He fixed what I wanted him to do, but he made a recommendation on how he felt like he could make my garage door last longer because it was sagging. So he worked with my garage door rather than trying to sell me a new garage door. He did the service that he actually came out to do and then a week later, he came back to do the other service and he didn’t charged me until then and it was just one bill instead of multiple bills. His prices were awesome also.
Description of Work: I had him come over just to replace the seal on the bottom of the door and he also did some other inspections.
