I was extremely pleased with Steve and A-1 Garage Doors. The total service experience was far beyond expectations. Every step of he process was very satisfactory. This includes scheduling the appointment, explanation of pricing and services provided, the service call itself, and payment.

I thought I needed an 8' system, but wasn't sure. A-1 drove out to measure my door to be sure of its height, before replacing it. The owner looked at the old system, tightened some screws and now it works. I had had another company out 2 weeks ago, who blamed the malfunction on the photo eyes, and did nothing to get the system to work. A-1did not charge me for anything and lost some short-term business, but I'll definitely have A-1 replace my door when it finally dies. What an outstanding company, from the people who answer the phone, to the owner. They are obviously operating to earn long-term customers, not just money. I really appreciate an honest service provider!

They came out when I asked and fixed the problem fast. They did not try to sell me anything. Could not be more pleased with their work.

Our spring broke on our garage door. I initially called another garage door company that I have worked with in the pass, but they never called back (they still haven't called back!) So, I went to Angies's List and saw A-1 Garage Doors listing and thought I would just call them. Right off the bat the woman on the phone was as nice as nice could be! She took my info and with a couple things to check on she said she could squeeze me in the same day I called! She had service guy, Steve, come out and fix the door. Steve was a garage door repair wizard! I could tell he new exactly what he was doing and that he had a lot of experience. In a matter of minutes he flew around the garage, replace the door spring and even did some maintenance on the door itself! Awesome job! they are my new garage door people!!!!

I have used this company several times over the last decade and have always been very happy. They are always very responsive, very prompt, and priced fairly. This time we had an appointment set to install a new opener at a rental. The night before another renter called me with a broken spring. I called A-1 and they fit in this door into their schedule and handled both appointments one right after another. The employees are always very nice and always clean up. Would highly recommend.

Suddenly, the single manual garage door was very hard to close. Eventually, I saw a loose cable and called A-1 (after checking Angie's List, of course). They scheduled for the following Monday afternoon, called 1 1/2 hours before the scheduled time, and arrived 1 hour early. Darrell was highly efficient, obviously knowledgeable and skilled, and quite congenial. He re-attached the cable, lubricated the spring, and, while testing the door's movement, noticed a mis-alignment of the ceiling mount on one side and corrected the alignment. The door now operates at least as smoothly as when it was new (28 years ago).

The service was performed quickly and professionally and the service man replaced only what was necessary, which saved us money in the long run. There was a small misunderstanding re scheduling, but that was satisfactorily resolved. This company seems very reliable and concerned with its customers.

Everything went just as planned. The technician showed up early (called first to confirm it was OK). The technician was courteous, knowledgable, and professional. The door was installed in about 2.5 hrs. No mess. No fuss. A very good experience.

This is a great company. When I called to set up a service call, the knowledgeable woman that answered asked what the problem was. I basically said that the single car garage door was very noisy when opening/closing and it seemed like it might be in the rollers or track. She then suggested that I lube everything before paying for a service call; but, by that time I had lubed it and I couldn't identify the problem, so we set the appointment. Steve the technician called me about an hour ahead of my appointment time and said he was ahead of schedule and was in the area, could he come early? That worked very well as I was here waiting for him anyway. When he arrived, he was pleasant, professional and diagnosed the problem immediately. He adjusted the width of the tracks on the single door. The tracks had somehow moved inward enough to squeeze the rollers which did not let them move freely. Steve said they may not have been installed properly or they may have moved with humidity and swelling of the wood around the door opening. He then looked at the double door in the garage (which I did not call them about because I didn't think it had a problem). He noticed that the connecting arm was traveling too close to the opener when the door was raised. Though this could have been a costlier repair had the shaft been bad, Steve said he thought it just need to be adjusted and that it may be fine thereafter. Again, very refreshing to have a service company looking out for my wallet instead of stating that I needed a costly repair. While Steve was at it, he lubed both garage doors. Again, I never mentioned a problem with the double door, but he took care of it anyway! The total bill would have been $85 (refreshingly low in my opinion), but Steve reminded me that there is a $15 Angie's List coupon. I happened to already have printed the coupon, but again, really nice that he brought it up when he didn't have to. Great company, great experience. Thanks A-1 Garage Doors and thanks Angie's List. Great job! We definitely have a new garage door company, A-1 Garage Doors.

Wonderful experience! I called and was scheduled for service the next day. Steve showed up (early, even!) and was quick, courteous, and answered all my questions. I really appreciated how he saved us money with his honesty - by telling us that our garage door was designed to have 1 big spring, instead of 2 smaller, weaker ones! We have already made it a point to spread the word about this company. :-)

Great ! The guy knew his stuff, very efficient, quick, and wonderful to watch a master at work, they make things look so easy. It's been 6 or 7 months ago now and it's still working good. I would absolutely have them out again if needed.

The bracket on the top panel of my garage door broke off the panel and contorted the door such that I could not get it to close completely (large gap at top of door). A-1 Garage doors came out and fixed my garage door so that it would be fully closed. While he fixed the door, I inquired about installing a new insulated garage door. The price was very reasonable. A-1 ordered the door and installed it a week later. The work was done very quickly and professionally and A-1 did not charge me for fixing the garage door! Overall, very satisfied with the quality of the door and the quality of the work.

We couldn't have better things to say about this company! I called with a "somewhat emergency" call -- my garage door wouldn't open. The receptionist (who was also very nice and professional) said he would arrive in @ an hour; he was here much quicker than that. "Steve" fixed the opening/mounting hardware. We also had him repair the seal on the bottom. He worked very quickly and did excellent work. He was extremely nice, professional, and we felt charged us a fair price. (We asked whether we needed a new garage door, and he told us no, the one we have is in excellent condition. We feel he is an honest businessman.) We will definitely use them again and have already referred him to others.

I described the issue I was having w/ my garage opener and it was instantly diagnosed. I was provided with two options, replacing the unit or having the gears replaced and re-packed. After consulting w/ Steve onsite, we decided to go w/ the latter. I was very pleased first and foremost w/ the punctuality as I had other obligations later that day that I moved. The work was completed in short order, Steve even helped me program my garage pad that had been sitting idle. I appreciated the fact that they provided several options and were very honest in helping me pick. I indicated that I found them on Angie's List but did not have the coupon but he honored it anyway. Top notch service, I wish more companies took the same approach.

Called late one afternoon to ask about an estimate. They were there at 7:30 the next morning to measure and write up estimate. Door was ordered and delivered less than a week later. Install was done the next day. Everyone involved was extremely fast, courteous, professional, and very knowledeable.

Service man came even before scheduled time....which was great.....did the taking down of old srpings one of which was broken....replaced the garage door springs...then the automatic opener..was about 2 hours as he said.....cleaned up his mess then explained all about the new system and worked it for us..his explantion was very througho....asked if we were satisfied and then gave us the bill which I paid gladly....he was a very great service man......this company is A-1.

The serviceman arrived on time. He explained what the problem was and how he would fix it. He was courteous and professional. He did a few additional things that I asked about, like oiling the chain, and he did not charge me extra. The job went very well. He honored the Angie's List coupon.

I've actually used them on 4 occasions (always for completely unrelated things). The first time they came out a couple years ago when one of my 2 garage door opener motors died and they replaced it. They worked efficiently, were very knowledgable, and stayed after to help me set my cars and other garage door openers to work on the new door opener. The next time they came out to replace the spring on my single garage door. The third time they came out I was having issues with my door opening and closing spontaneously and they correctly identified the problem as my garage door opener remote as being the problem. They took out the batteries from this one remote and the issue hasn't occured since. They did not charge me anything for the third visit. The last time was to fix the last 2 springs. They're always very accommodating as far as scheduling and show up right when they're supposed to. Great experience.
