Very quick response to our call, came the same day and arrived at the appropriate time. The plumber was very professional and polite. He gave us a quoted price before doing the job and was able to proceed with getting everything completed very quickly. Great experience and we will certainly use them again as needed.

Wow! Ryan came out promptly which was appreciated as I had a flooded basement. What a joy! He was very polite very professional and explained everything really well without acting like I was stupid. Very respectful. We discussed options. He was informative, forthright, and not at all pushy. I felt like he really knew what he was doing. He looked at a few other things I had wanted done, but got sidetracked by this little disaster. He is going to get estimates on everything we discussed and can come back as early as Tuesday. (Today is Thursday). And they are busy from all the rain/flooding. Very accommodating. Also want to mention that when Steve Ray called he was very polite and understanding of the urgency. Never hesitated to get someone here ASAP, only 1 hour! Overall, best experience of any tradesman I have dealt with. I would recommend but want to keep them for myself :) they would get all A's but I honestly can't assess the quality just yet. The sump pump sounds great though!

I purchased the needed sink etc. Ryan and a second plumber arrived on schedule. The most time-consuming job was replacing a fifty-year-old lead drain pipe that had split and was partially enclosed in a basement inner wall. (not in concrete) It took four hours or more to remove the old kitchen sink, cut out the old pipes, replumb the drains for the double basin sink, and install the sink, faucet and disposal. In the basement, they also replaced the toilet's complete flush valve kit, well as the tank to bowl kit. Finally, they replaced the drain pipes on an old metal double basin laundry sink. Both guys were very pleasant and professional. The bill for the two plumbers totaled 1850.00

Steve and his crew were very professional and cleaned up after themselves and probably left the place better than I had it they worked on the plumbing for about two weeks or more and earn their money

Very well. Our house and toilets are very old - circa 1906 - but we love them. When two of them stopped functioning we called steve ray plumbing and they came within the hour. The plumber was both professional and personable. He told us that he didn't have any mechanicals on his truck that were compatable with our toilets, so he called around until he found a supply house that had the right mechanicals. He then left to pick them up. He made the appropriate installations and did not charge us for the time he took to go pick up the right hardware. Their business card is the only plumber on our cork board of reliable service firms and their phone number is on my i-phone under "plumber'. HIGHLY recommend!

No complaint with the work. Very professional, pleasant, skilled. I made the error of not asking for a quote ahead of time and was taken off guard by the combination of service call and minimum one hour labor charge for something that literally took well under 30 minutes. [sadly, after the fact I find that there is a coupon for Angie's list subscribers - but that's my fault, not the provider.] Just make sure you are aware of this minimum ahead of time. I cannot recommend for very small jobs like mine, but believe you will receive excellent service and a reasonable competitive cost on larger jobs.

Ryan came out, looked at what had to be done, went to the truck and got necessary replacement parts, and installed them. He also explained that due to the way the pipe was initially connected to the main waste pipe in the wall, it might not hold, but for now everything was great. He didn't think there would be any trouble. The original material was metal and corroded. I asked for PVC pipe and that was what was used. After installation he checked to make sure there were no leaks. He was quick, polite and professional.

Very prompt service, right on time, efficient. I can state many more superlatives, but the best part was how accommodating the job was performed. The focus was clearly on what would meet my needs and get the job done without undue expense. They even offered to use some copper pipe I had already purchased to save me money. To reiterate, the job was done contentiously, cleanly, quickly, and accommodated my specific needs perfectly. I would recommend them highly, to anyone.

Garran arrived as scheduled, assessed the problem and made recommendations for resolving. My home was built in 1949 and the galvanized pipes had not been updated to PVC and were starting to rust through. The estimate provided was very reasonable and Garran was available to make the repairs immediately. He called Ryan in for assistance. The two of them kept me appraised as they worked on the project. I was very pleased with the work and will call Steve Ray plumbing in the future as the need arises.

We were very impressed with Steve and Garrett's professionalism, courtesy, and promptness. They scheduled our first visit for the day after our first phone call to them, and arrived exactly when they said they would. The second, repair visit was done on the next day. We have had problems with the drainage from our showers backing up for over 30 years in this house, and Steve Ray was the first plumber to find a way to fix it well, and hopefully, permanently. We found their rates reasonable, as well, given the amount of time spent at our house. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Mr. Ray was vary prompt in returning my phone call.( 20 min or less) we have set up an app. will finish review after service is completed on 10/9/14.

They arrived an hour after I called them and then the plumber Garren was very professional and nice got the job done quickly.

We left a message on the answering machine and within 15 minutes we received a call back. He showed up early and on the day that we called. That was really nice because a leak costs money. When he arrived, he assessed the situation in the bathroom and determined the problem immediately. He had to cut out a section in our closet to access the plumbing but that was not a problem for us. We do however, have a cat that lives in our bedroom and the young man was very cautious about not letting him out and I really appreciated that. It took about 2 1/2 hours to fix everything and install the new components. We were quite happy with his work and his attitude about his work. He was very knowledgeable, efficient and timely. Two day later, we had another problem, same area. We called right away and they responded right away. He was here within an hour and had the problem fixed quickly with no charge to us. If in need of future plumbing, I will definitely call Steve Ray Plumbing.

As always happens, it's a holiday - Labor Day. I hear the glug/glug - telltale signs that I have 24-48 hours to get the sewer line cleaned out....or else. The thirsty roots that attack yearly due to a bad line replacement done years ago by a no-longer in business sewer guy. Dominick took my call cheerfully even though it was a holiday! I asked for after 3 PM the following day. 2:55 - "we're on our way!" Less than hour later, with an additional "well, while you're here" project of replacing a showerhead, they're on their way and I can flush without fear! I've had several different guys out over the last few years - including Steve himself. All have been friendly, efficient and professional in all aspects. Great bunch!!

Would you want someone treating your mother this way? Well, today was Mother's day, and I my mother informed me of an appalling experience regarding Steve Ray Plumbing Service in Springfield, IL. My mother is in her 60's, she is a retired special education teacher (It takes a special person to teach young individuals with disabilities, and even more so...dedicated 35 yrs of her life doing so), my mom lives alone, and my mom is on a fixed income. I work two jobs and I am finishing my graduate degree in business, I am extremely busy to say the least. She understands my hectic schedule and did not want to burden me (it would not have been a burden to me because I will do anything for mom) by asking me to install her new garbage disposal. So, she called Steve Ray Plumbing in Springfield, IL to handle the removal and replacement of her garbage disposal (she was referred this company's name by some friends). -My mother purchased the new disposal herself for $97.00 at Lowe's. -Steve Ray Plumbing Service charged my mother $355.00 to install her disposal. (install included minor plumbing reroute of the dishwasher hose). This routine service call should take an hour tops. As I stated before, my mother bought the new disposal herself, she was charged $355.00 for a garbage disposal replacement (with reroute of dishwasher hose) on a 12 yr old home. This is truly despicable in my opinion, and if the owner of Steve Ray Plumbing was aware of this, he should be ashamed. As I expressed my utter disgust to my mother regarding this experience with Steve Ray Plumbing and the amount of money which she was charged, she asked that I do NOT tell anyone because she is embarrassed (broke my heart). I could not let this go without doing everything I can to share this story. To conclude, I thought this story is worth sharing and everyone needs to read it. I work two jobs, I am also a business owner myself, I am also an entreprenuer, and I will graduate in August 2013 with a Master's Degree in Business...I will never condemn a company for striving to earn an honest profit...but I refuse to endorse this company. We called at 3:00pm and two of their guys were at our front door in 30 minutes - FIRST WOW! They cleaned out the sewage line and walked us through the entire process from start to finish - SECOND WOW! They laid down carpet and rugs everywhere they walked and they were extremely knowledgeable and profession - THIRD WOW! Customer service was amazing, job couldn't have been done better. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone! Great A+++ job, Steve Ray Plumbing! We wouldn't call anyone else in the future!

It was great. They were here while I was on vacation right before Thanksgiving and I was able to get a lot of baking done. Which I think they enjoyed too. They got to take some cookies home.Get group of guys.

They did an unbelievable job. We have had several bids and they never got back to us. They say they are going to come out but I never heard from them for a while. Well, Steve Ray Plumbing came out that day. He gave us a bid on Thursday and he said he will see us on Monday and he was here. We had more work for him because we couldn’t believe it. He was real meticulous. The bathroom is beautiful. Our house was built in the eighteen hundreds and he completely redid the entire thing. It is just wonderful. We love him. He was big and had a great personality. He paid attention to detail. His guys were very professional. He kind of kept things out, he said he is going to need a room where he can keep his equipments. He also had a drive trailer that he brought in our driveway while he was here; all his tools were in there. They did all the sawing outside. They had rugs going from the top porch all the way to our bathroom and they also wore flippers over their feet so that they wouldn’t get any dirt inside anywhere. They wore it every day. It was just unbelievable and our bathroom looks absolutely gorgeous. They did an excellent job. We did all the gutting ourselves because our daughter is getting married and we were on a budget. He was okay with working with us on that. He just said that he didn’t want to be delayed on that. He wanted to make sure that if we say that we are going to do it he wanted it to be done on such and such date because he has a crew coming in with nothing being done. He actually gave us a weekend to do it. He came back that Monday to inspect it before he got his guys on Tuesday. He wanted to make sure that everything was the way it should have been. He had a truck out there and we just put everything out. We were very fortunate because one of the other guys wanted to go to a certain place where he was going to get a deal. We wanted to pick our own stuff because we could get whatever we wanted. They were great. On price they were kind of expensive. He worked with us and allowed us to go to the shop and get stuff on sale. He would use his truck on top of that and he would go pick everything after we picked it up. He was real good about that. We saved a lot of money that way. He also let us to do the demolition which the other 2 guys wouldn’t let us do. He worked with us and that was really important. They knew exactly what they were doing. They were just very good. They were right here when they said they were going to be here. They are going to come back and do the master bath as soon as the wedding is over.

Spigot was replaced at half the price of competing estimates by a technician who was knowledgeable, efficient, and polite.
