Jim came right out to give me an estimate! I had three estimates done and he was by far the best price. He and his crew are on time, professional, and VERY particular! They got the wallpaper down and prepped all walls. Then they did ceilings and trim, followed by the painting of all walls. The whole job took them four days to complete! It looks BEAUTIFUL!! They clean up after themselves every day. I am so happy with his work I have them here doing another bedroom right now! They are also doing my parents house next week! I highly recommend Maximum Painting!

The painter arrived and let us know that the work would take a couple of days. He spent the first day just prepping and smoothing the walls. When he was done I would have thought they were brand new. He spent the next three days putting on multiple coats, covering our formerly dark walls with a light neutral eggshell. The work was phenomenal. There was not a single thin spot, error or drip to be found. His work was professional, conscientious, and thorough. I will be hiring him again.

I would loike to contact this company to see if I can still use this coupon before winter.

Overall the job went well and I was pleased with the quality of work that was done.

He came out and complained about how busy he was from the Angies list coupon and how it wasn't making him any money. he went on to say he could only schedule with me when he had other jobs in the area. He rescheduled 3 times for various reasons (one of which he'd had surgery which was of course reasonable) then told me I'd have to go purchase and haul my own drywall to complete the work as his van stopped working. This scenario took place over several months.

Jim did a repair job for me earlier this year and mentioned he could return to do some painting for me. He left me a quote and I agreed to have this work done. In the interim of having him schedule his return, I added a couple other jobs to his list. Although he is in demand, we agreed on a start date, Jim came to survey my entire list, I gave him my paint colors (which he matched perfectly at his supplier). It was a long two days of work for Jim repairing my plaster walls, removing wallpaper, prepping walls and painting walls and ceilings. A masterful job -- a wonderful cleanup. I am very, very impressed with Jim, his great attitude and his limitless talents -- he even fixed a few things done by a previous contractor (not an Angie's List choice -- my mistake!). Use this guy! He is worth the wait!!!!

First let me mention that Jim is very busy but when he sets an appointment he keeps it. Jim arrived on time to quote the job and was very thorough in reviewing what needed to be done. He even noticed additional tape peeling on the other side of the wall in the bathroom which I had not seen. He is very pleasant to deal with and even gave me a quote to paint both of the rooms in their entirety. He worked up a quick rough estimate right then and emailed me a final bid for approval (both were the same amount). Once I accepted the bid Jim worked with us to get a day and time that we could be home. Jim arrived for the job on time and according to my wife and daughter was great to deal with and very professional and polite. He worked straight through until the work was done and cleaned up after finishing. When I examined his work I noticed that he had done everything he promised to do but also filled in numerous imperfections and nail pops in both rooms and the bathroom at no charge and without being asked to do so. The paint job on our bedroom ceiling (a barrel ceiling with a fan in the center) looks great. We're so pleased with his work and professionalism that we have asked him to bid on painting our exterior trim and when we are ready for the interior work will have him bid on that as well.

I was soo happy with the way everything turned out - far better than I had expected. In the two days jim was here he tackled so much! I had been dreading this project. I thought for sure that everything once started was going to be far more work than we had originally anticipated - and it was. However, Jim tackled everything with ease and with a smile! He was a pleasure to work with. The kitchen was far more intense than I even thought - once we started to cut out around the damage, it just crumbled and crumbled - but Jim made a phone call, got additional help and he finnished on task, on time and did an absolutely beautiful job. I was really amazed with his professionalism and his expertise. Everything came out far, far better than I thought it would. We'd hire Jim again in a heartbeat. In fact, I have to look at my calendar and see when he can come back to do more projects I've been putting off.

He had a long drive in from Romeoville, arriving at 9:45 with a helper. THey assembled scaffolding and pulled down the loose bits avoiding the cracks that were within 6 inches or so of the decorative plaster trim. The do not do that kind of plaster. After agreeing on a strategy to fill the opening, Jim said it would 300 plus materials. I thought it would up to 300 more, but I'm not that person who is going to nickle and dime someone. THey went to Home Depot and to lunch and were back within 1.5 hrs. THey applied a mesh to the 3 foot medalion shaped opening and applied an initial coat of drywall compound. They left just after 2. Let's call this 4.5 hrs. SLightly annoying points: They asked for rags, a staple gun to apply the mesh, garbage bags for the debris, and an extension cord. Luckily, I had all 4 things. THe next day, Jim checked to see if I had a shop vac, which I do. Turns out I didn't have a filter in it, so that wasn't very helpful. They arrived at 9:30. THey sanded, caulked most of the cracks, ran into a land mine of sorts as he got close to the plaster trim, fixed it, ran another coat of compund over most of the ceiling and went for lunch. They took a short lunch (30 min) and came back to knock down a few stray edges and remove the scaffolding. They left at 1:30. Let's call it 4 hours. Slightly annoying points: THey borrowed broom and dust pan which now need to be rinsed, and left chalky film over the entire floor, and hallway, and to a lesser extent the room directly adjoing the living room. As I was writing out the check, I reviewed the total cost: 775$ ($400 worth of work from the Angie's List coupons + $300 +$75 dollars in materials. "No," he said, "it should only be $575 dollars" But I bought $400 of work. "No, that's 4 hours of work" Right, which I bought twice. "Well that's how Angie's List markets it. No one has ever complained about my prices." I'm not trying to weasle out of paying you, I just don't think you realized I bought 2 coupons. "No, I know you bought two coupons, no one ever complains about the price." I think in the wash I paid $100 too much. And, in all honesty, your skill set is not in plaster. I don't think I would have bought this from a drywall company, as my ceilings are plaster. "This job took 10 years off my life. It was hard work." Please wear a mask when you work. In closing: 95% of the job looks great - it really does. The plaster needed a little TLC though, and this is not the company to do that. All of his other Angie's list reviews look great. I wish him well. I do, though, think $775 spent with a company that does plaster would have resulted in a better outcome. And, I think I really did overpay $100, for the time and materials, I think he would have truely charged me $575 like he first tried to correct me. I think he thought I was buying $200 worth of work, and an additionaly 300 + materials. So, I learned a little lesson - no more Angie's List coupons.

. Jim Carpenter of Maximum Painting Inc is excellent. He was very flexible in doing the piece that we wanted him to do. He was very busy but he squeezed us in. He kept the mess down to a minimum and he was very reasonable. We didn't buy the coupons that Angie's List offered, but he was still very reasonable. He was here for 2 days and he did an excellent job.

Owner is busy but worked us in to his schedule with minimal delay. Completed the agreed upon work efficiently and left no mess. Provided a fair estimate for finish sanding the work and painting the entire room.

I purchased a coupon for some drywall repair. When I called for an appointment Jim was courteous and able to set a time for the work that fit my schedule. The day of the work Jim arrived on time and worked efficiently. The work involved repair of one spot in the laundry room and two in the garage. He said he could not replace the drywall in the laundry room because of the difficulut location, but would repair it the best he could. It looked perfet when he was finished. The other spots in the garage were completed and looked well done. The work was finished within the 2 hours that was purchased with the coupon. Jim was professional and explained what he was doing as he worked. I would use his company again for any work I needed done.

Excellent job. Cleaned up everything after he was done. Take a lot of care in matching the sheetrock, taping and wet sanding till you could not tell there was a problem beforehand.

Came out a week before to determine work that needed to be done and that could be done within te 4 hours. Decided on a cost to finish all work that needed to be done. Showed up the day of and repaired plaster and drwall. Put up plastic between mudroom/pantry and kitchen to keep dust and debris out of kitchen. Came back next day to finish the work. Cleaned up afterwards even washing down the kitchen floor where drywall/paster dust had been tracked in.

Jim arrived on time and got right to work. We supplied the paint, but Jim did all the rest and simply worked for 4 hours straight to edge, trim and paint the walls and doors + trim of the laundry room.

A large crack runs throughout my living room ceiling that Ihad repaired several years ago but the crack returned. A bedroom wall and a kitchen wall developed a large crack following settling of the house. Jim came in, and using tape, repaired the ceiling. He repaired both the walls. Jim also looked around at other areas that need attention and offered his services -- no pressure at all. This was a great experience with home repairs.

My experience with Jim and Maxium Painting was fantastic and I would highly reccommend him to anyone. I realize the work being performed was tedious and messy...and Jim did an unbelievable job; it looks great. He did the job in a reasonable amount of time and considering the mess involved, cleaned up pretty well. After he finished I had an electrician in to install some recessed lighting in my kitchen and there were a few hairline cracks and one larger one. Jim came back to fix them almost immediately after the electrician finished and with minimal mess. He was cordial, very easy to get along with and even let me dogs out for me one day when I couldn't get home from work in time. Overall I would definitely use him again for painting and/or drywall services, a total professional.

He put down a drop cloth, scraped and patched the holes, dried the drywall and painted. He then cleaned up throughly.

Jim reviewed the work, returned when he said he would, installed dust barriers around work area and mudded entire ceiling in about 4 hours with very good results and cleaned up afterwards leaving a smooth finished result. I have another house I'll have him review and if it all works well he'll get that job also.

Arrived on time, totally prepared to patch 20 years of drywall dings and scrapes. The guys were great and easy to work with. They also gave me a quote to paint our master bedroom suite, which includes a 22 foot vaulted ceiling!. They helped pick paint color, purchased paint and di an amazing job. All furniture was moved and returned to its original place, all mess was cleaned up, and now the room looks GREAT! Highly recommend!

They were very rude to me over the phone when I called to schedule the appointment. Took the day off work for when he did finally schedule a time. This morning he was supposed to come and he never came. When I called him, he made excuses and was not truthful on why he did not show.

Overall, they were great to work with and I would recommend them to my family and friends.

We contacted Jim Carpenter of Maximum Painting because of the great reviews of his company on Angie's List. We also preferred to hire someone from our local area. We needed our entire 2 story 4 bedroom home painted (interior). We also needed numerous drywall repairs and a few drywall modifications. Jim made special arrangements to start on our job promptly and promised a 3 week completion date. Our estimate included sanding and priming the walls, ceilings and trim with two coats of Sherwin Williams Pro Interior Paint. Drywall work included all small repairs of surface, but also some large and challenging repairs and modifications. Jim was very involved with the painter he chose for us, overseeing our project. and also spent time at our home drywalling. During the course of the work, we even added on a few extra drywall projects for Jim, and he completed them well and quickly. Work was actually completed several days ahead of schedule.We were impressed by the quality of the drywall repairs and modifications completed by Jim. Painting was completed in a very timely fashion. Painter was very fast in getting the work done. The final painted interior was gorgeous and very well done. Jim Carpenter, owner, also did a final inspection of all work, completing a few last minute touch ups. Both Jim and our painter seemed to really like their work and had a great attitude. Jim was very meticulous about the quality of the job done. The painter also was aware of any possible flaws as he worked, and it was important to him to make sure the final job was a quality one. We hope to work with Maximum Painting Inc. again in the near future!

The work was done well, with the repairs appearing seamless after it was done.

We had started work on our diningroom and realized we were in over our heads. Jim came and finished what we had started within a week and a half and our room is now ready for paint. He worked very quickly to fit in our project around others he already had going. His attention to detail is remarkable and he made sure the whole room was perfect before he left. Jim was beyond professional and friendly and happily answered as many questions as our 3 year old could fire at him. Though our project wasn't huge Jim quoted a fair price and did a great job. We will definitely call Jim for our next drywall/painting project that needs to get finished.
