AC Best Heating and Cooling LLC

We hired this contractor to paint our house and install fan in the bathroom and closet for a contract price of $7,222. The contractor collected $7,500 but only completed the bathroom fan installation. They caused significant damage to walls, floors, trim, and fixtures with spackle and textured paint, leaving everything needing repair or repainting. I and my husband have had to sand and repaint walls and clean paint off surfaces yourselves. They got more paint on the trim, banisters doors and furniture than they got on the wall. They also use two different colors of white one semi gloss one not it looks like tic-tac-toe in my hallway. Joe and his team do not communicate or showing up regularly. The work 3 hour days l. They spent less than 68 hours on my job. Joe Fontana is a hack and a fraudster. He has multiple complaints and law suits against him in Boone, Winnebago and Cook county all contract tort damages!!!!! if you can't put paint on a wall, you got some serious issues. My lawsuit is being filed this morning it for double contracted price. It caused me more to fix it then original quote. To date no deliverables on that contract except one fan. This company is a joke and Joe is a 🤡 and a thief.

Do NOT let this man in your house!! Joe answered my call almost immediately and quoted me $1000 less than everyone else (should've been my first clue!) He never showed up on time, hours later than told me, what should've taken one whole day took over a week, as he only came for a few hours everyday. I was without heat on the coldest days of the year for 3 weeks!!! After a week heat still wasn't working and Joe keep feeding me lines about having to give the system time to "circulate", when he showed he that the boiler was heating up and pipes around it, but not the radiators, so I paid him and the next day, we still had NO HEAT! I had to call in another heating expert Wesley's heating and cooling, and Wes showed me how Joe had installed pumps upside down and various other mistakes, he took the time to show me why the brand new system wasn't working. Rockford City inspector was called in and turns out Joe Fontana is NOT LICENSED to work in Rockford, NOT LICENSED to work on boilers. I quickly called the bank to cancel the check but Joe had very quickly cashed the check and disappeared! He is wanted in courts here in Rockford and in Chicago for similar infractions and complaints. I wish someone had put a review in here before I got scammed by him. I hope this helps someone else to not get taken. Call Wesley's Heating instead, he is a true angel, honest and forthright, professional, quick to respond, and fairly priced. ** Almost forgot! Joe Fontana's men stole $100 out of my elderly father's dresser while they were here working, when I confronted Joe with this , he apologized and handed me some $20's saying he was paying it back, when my dad counted it later there was only $60 there. I would never let this man in my house again!
