I had an excellent experience with this company from start to finish. During the heavy snowfall this year, water got under a limestone cap on the side of my chimney. It froze and the cap came tumbling off, exposing the insides to the elements. I wanted it fixed quickly and requested multiple quotes. Dan from Northsouth Masonry called me the next day, even though many masonry shops seem to shut down during the winter. I sent him detailed photos of the issue and we agreed on a price. Dan said he could take advantage of the brief warm spell, and the work was performed a few days later. It looks fantastic. The mason showed up *exactly* on time. The original construction didn't use steel pins on an angled cap, making it vulnerable to falling. These guys corrected that problem with hidden steel pins. A solid 3 hours of work on a 12 ft ladder. I was impressed. I was at work and the wife was manning the house, so Dan sent me multiple photos of the work at various stages which I appreciated. When finished, everything was cleaned up and spotless. A+ communication, A+ reliability, A+ punctuality, A+ work quality, A+ price. Thank you!

Dan O'Brien was very responsive compared to other masons when we were shopping around. He quickly came to inspect our fireplace and was receptive to what we wanted while offering very constructive feedback, offered approximate price up-front. He stayed in contact and worked with us throughout construction. His staff was prompt, trustworthy (nobody home at times without problems, issues), and professional - solving minor problems that came up to make a beautiful stone fireplace and hearth my wife and I are very happy with. Overall cost below what I expected. We highly recommend Northsouth Masonry.

Dan and his crew are exceptional contractors. Their pricing is fair, their workmanship is exemplary. Dan always communicates schedule changes and issues that may arise on site. In addition, his crew is respectful and neat.

Nothing short of outstanding. In two days, the NorthSouth crew transformed the front face of the property from weathered and battered to like-new. The neighbors are grinning from ear to ear. The 5 new concrete steps are flawless, and merge seamlessly into the porch structure. Rebuilding the planter was no small task -- it was a custom job that required specialized framing and considerable planning, even for a skilled mason, not to mention about a half ton of concrete, literally. Those guys made the whole thing look easy. Impressive to say the least. Now I am grinning from ear to ear. I have used NorthSouth before, and will not hesitate to hire them again in a heartbeat.

These guys were excellent. They were professional and hardworking. They went above and beyond our expectations, replacing more brick layers than originally planned simply because it was the right thing to do. They were gracious enough to comply with a last minute addition of replacing the Chimney flutes as well. Highly recommend - in fact we've already asked them to take a look at another project on property

Dan and his crew did excellent work. They had to replace a couple of concrete steps on our front porch and perform tuck pointing in the front and side of our brick bungalow. They did a great job! On time, responsive to our questions, cleaned up really well. I would highly recommend them.

Need tuckpointing or glass block windows? Look no further. I've done the work for you. I Called 3 tuckpointers on Angie's List. First guy made an appointment and never showed up. Second guy walked around the house so fast I could hardly keep up with him, said he would send an invoice, never did. Then I called Northsouth. Dan was on time and patiently explained what I needed done and suggested a few other things. No hard sell. Nice guy to deal with. Dan and his crew did an excellent job. My house looks great and I love the glass block window. It's perfect. Would definitely hire again.

Dan and Northsouth's team is great. They finished an extensive in one day, when we thought it would take several days. They did some extra cracks they found without charging additional. In fact, when one of the areas where they had planned to fix some flashing turned out not to need new flashing, they told us and reduced their bill! Not something you often see. I have already asked them to bid out some other projects.

It was a pleasant experience from start to finish. Daniel O'Brien came out and gave me a very competitive price. He explained what needed to be done in a clear , precise manner. The crew who did the work were polite and professional. They answered my questions satisfactorily. I would certainly recommend this company . A potentially stressful experience actually went very smoothly.

Dan is an easy guy to work with. His men have done work for us before and we were happy to work with them again. They came when they said they would and did everything we asked. Very accommodating. I would definitely hire them again.

Called Dan along with several other members on Angie's List. He arrived on time and gave a very thorough assessment of the job He provided an estimate in a matter of days. His estimate was in line with and slightly lower than other providers, but his professionalism was higher than the others. I talked with him on several occasions about the job that he was going to do, about concerns related to his estimate for replacement bricks, and about discounts. He re-assured me on the scope of the work, double checked on the brick count based upon his photos, and provided an Angie's List discount. The final selling point for me though was that he only has a single crew and does not hire sub-contractors. I actually needed to have my job delayed because of this when there were family related issues for a team member, but I still prefer this over having less known and vetted individuals completing the work. The work crew arrived on time (and slightly early) each day. They were exceedingly polite, hard-working, and conscientious during the 4 days that they were completing the job. They made sure to clean up each day and left things extremely tidy once the job was completely finished. I was exceedingly pleased with the entire process. My house looks remarkable in the front thanks to the cleaning and tuckpointing job that they did. A Big Thanks to Dan and his exceptional crew!

I am very happy with the work. The crew showed up on time and was very easy to work with. I asked a lot of questions and they were answered professionally and accurately. The crew did a nice job cleaning up as well. I will contact them for future masonry/tuck pointing needs.

I asked Dan to come out for an estimate based on the reviews I saw on Angie's list. He wanted to come out before he was leaving on vacation so we agreed he would come while I was not there which he suggested would not be an issue since everything was on the exterior. When I received the estimate, it became clear that he did not even look at all 4 sides of the house. I emailed him back and suggested that if he wanted to be considered, he would need to come back to check all 4 sides of the house (didn't think I actually needed to tell him that). He didn't respond to that email, but randomly showed up on my doorstep a week later. Against my better judgement, I let him take a look around and submit a revised proposal. I went with another company as I felt as though cutting corners on the estimate would likely result is some unwelcome surprises down the road. When Dan emailed me to ask what I thought about the other estimate, I thanked him for his follow up and let him know we decided to go with another organization. His response was that he's going to charge me for the second estimate...ridiculous. I would recommend not wasting your time here and just going with a more reputable company.

The job was done quickly and thoroughly and with no disruption to my schedule whatsoever. They communicated well and were punctual in getting the work done. They left no mess and were very professional in the handling of every aspect of the job. I HIGHLY recommend them!
