ANIMAL MEDICAL CENTER

First of all I would like to comment how rude Jennifer the reception was when I called the center to find out what was wrong with my sisters dog. I will get into detail later but you don’t treat your patients the way she responded to me on the phone. My sister brought her dog here for the last 9 months because he was coughing and gagging. Dr Lantow diagnosed him with bronchitis. He prescribed steroids, cough medicine and other pills. My sister called him alot because it was getting worse, not better. This dog was my sisters life by the way. She would do anything for him. She hated to see him suffer but the dr explained the meds should help. She had called saying he was having a hard time breathing and my sister thought it was time. This was last week. He said as long as his mouth didn’t look purplish, it wasn’t his time. So my sister trusted him. This was last week. I called Jennifer yesterday to try and get answers cause he was gasping for air and my sister was a wreck. The dr said he would call her and she’s still waiting. It’s was too late For his call, my brother in law took him to the emergency vet last night cause he was coughing up blood. They did an exam and found out it was his heart! Not bronchitis! They said he would be gone in the morning so they had to end his suffering! So sad ! How can you assume it’s bronchitis! Mistreating him for 9 months when he may have lived longer with the right treatment. I have 3 dogs that go there and I’m sorry I won’t be sending them back. The groomer Vicky is wonderful but not the other Inconsiderate people there. The dog was my sisters family and all she is doing is crying. She feels she killed him because she trusted the doctor. He suffered way too much under his care! Do not go there!

My dog has been going here since I got him 6 years ago; all the doctors know him fairly well.
My dog had what appeared to be a rash on his belly, so I called the office and was able to get him in later that day. This isn't the first time he has had this rash, so I was concerned but actually figured out the all weather rug was probably the culprit and the doctor agreed. I used the ointment for a few days, bought him a different rug to lay on and so far, so good.

The receptionists are ridiculously incompetent and rude. All but ONE of the doctors act extremely high strung and are impatient. Every time I made an appointment, I waited anywhere from 30 - 90 minutes until I was put into a room. Although I requested to see a specific doctor, I never saw the veterinarian I requested, and to make matters worse, my first visit there with a cat that needed plenty of follow-up care, the receptionist put me in with a relief doctor, and I was pressured by one of the resident veterinarians I saw on my next visit to repeat all diagnostic procedures done with the relief vet, costing me a lot of additional money. The receptionists NEVER asked the reason for the appointment when it is made and often times give very unprofessional medical advice over the phone. I also NEVER received follow-up calls after surgery to let me know how my pet was doing, and I never received calls letting me know when to pick up my pet when they had to stay there for the day.

They take a personal attitude with the animals they take care of, and they are really promptly when it comes to getting in to see them, specially if the dog is sick because they let you right in. They are also very accommodating with the billing process.
