Description of Work: We have worked with Element Worx for three house projects. In all instances, Brett Williams did a terrific job guiding us through the process, making savvy recommendations and making sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. Three years ago he replaced the windows in our 120 year old house. He guided us through brand & color options and even suggested a finishing touch for the outside siding that looks fabulous, and we certainly wouldn't have thought of on our own. He and his crew were courteous, punctual, conscientious, and finished the project without delay. The work quality was/is top-notch, despite the fact that such an old, settled house presented challenges. We remain tickled that we no longer need a scarf to sit by the front bay windows! Next, Brett built a closet in our daughter's bedroom. His estimate was much less than others we received, and the work meticulous. After listening to our idea, Brett suggested an alternate place for the build-out, one that ultimately made much more sense. We're grateful for his design savvy. His carpenter actually figured out how to re-used floor moulding for the door frame, which wasn't expected and looks great. Most recently Brett built a three-car garage to replace the two-car garage we had. Again, all went smoothly. After interviewing us, he presented multiple design options, each incorporating our needs as well as additional (helpful) ideas we hadn't thought of. Budgets were clearly explained. From there, Brett took care of everything, including guiding the project through our Village Hall permit system, which can be tricky. His team was clearly able and courteous. Brett was very present throughout project. Timelines and budgets were hit.

Description of Work: We have had Element Worx do a number of services at our home over the last year and a half and every time they are spectacular. This last time we had Brett and his team put in a Patio and they were able to do this in one day and it looks great! Other projects we have had Brett do has been a new Banister, a New fireplace/entertainment center and he also built us a new fence for the back yard. To this day, we get neighbors coming over with extremely great comments about the fence that Element Worx did, it so much improved the look of our yard, yet helped improve the look of our neighborhood too! Description of Work: You know the drill. The seal on the refrigerator is going. The appliance is more than a decade old, how much does one invest in repair? All appliance are the same age, do you change one off, or as a group with similar finishes? And if you upgrade the appliances, shouldn't the laminate counter, and the over-mount sink go as well? Ah the slippery slope of home ownership. Fortunately, one call was all I had to make to get 1) a clear idea of what could be done with my limited funds and 2) a turn key manager/visionary to get it all done. Brett Williams from Element Worx clearly outlined my options, built a reasonable budget and executed--on time, in budget with outstanding results. I told Brett what I needed, wanted and could do without. He took care of the rest. He took me granite shopping, selected appliances based on my desires, and came up with a truly glorious scheme for merging old with new in my 135 year old kitchen. One day for appliances, another for counters/sink and one for tiling. Viola! Gorgeous kitchen, like new, with money left for property taxes! Brett even came back and installed a light fixture gratis. There was never a mess left in my home. I never had to worry about the quality of work, nor the reliability of the tradesmen. If you are lucky enough to live in Element Worx territory, you have found your "go to" guy for any project you can conceive. If you do not, you should move.

Description of Work: Element Worx did a number of upgrade & rehab projects at our 100yr old home, maintaining and enhancing the architectural integrity at every step. Brett Williams, the proprietor, has every last fine detail in his scope as he plans and executes a project. Below is a list of the three bigger projects that he undertook; my fiance and I could not be more pleased with the results. 1.) Fireplace installation, including period-authentic mantle & bookshelves - Element Worx took an architectural drawing that we had engaged a prominent local firm to complete and executed flawlessly. Keep in mind that this 100yr old house was constructed without a fireplace, and now our guests can scarcely believe when we inform them that it was just recently added to the house. It matches in every way, from the fine woodwork on the mantle & bookcases on either side of the firebox, to the exquisite tilework surrounding the firebox. 2.) Designing, ordering & installation of an architecturally significant replacement window that is now efficient to the highest standard of 2012. Many other vendors considered the project and determined that it was too challenging (there are unique, tight 'round' elements in the picture window) to execute at a reasonable price. Element Worx partnered with a specialty window vendor and constructed a 4-piece window that exactly matched the design we sought to replicate. Again, guests to our home can scarcely believe the fine details and that a craftsman in this day and age could replicated detail seemingly only found in a bygone era. 3.) Replace substantial architectural elements in 100yr old porch - Element Worx did an extraordinary job replacing both the steps, fine-picketed railings and then the porch 'skirt' consisting of hundreds of vertically-aligned pickets. Their attention to detail was astonishing, and more neighbors have come by to deliver compliments than I ever imagined. The genesis of this project is unique as well. I had asked Element Worx to 'fix' the existing porch skirt & a rotted-out railing. While they quoted this 'plain vanilla' request for repair, they took the time to deliver a second, compelling proposal to do a more extensive restoration that would have a longer lifespan and make the architectural designs on the house 'pop'. As far as curb-appeal goes, the money spent was more than worth it. Phenomenal attention to detail executed at a fair price and in a very timely manner.

Description of Work: Brett and his craftsmen replaced the leaky roof on our back porch, all of the windows, and outer door, the stairs leading up to our back porch. They replaced the floor of our back porch and kitchen with a beautiful oak floor (not laminate). They made additional repairs that were needed including fixing the door to our walk-out basement, added insulation to the porch and repaired several pre-existing electrical issues - added new fixtures, as well. Brett has impeccable taste and an eye for aesthetic detail. His work is not simply functional, it is beautiful. Our back porch was transformed from a cold, dingy storage area into a place where we can spend time and relax as a family.
