The crew was led by Don and he could not have been easier to work with. They were here everyday at 8a.m., and worked until 7p.m. Each day, Don would walk around the house with us to explain what they were doing and to see if we had any concerns. What few issues we had were always dealt with, and they did so in a very professional manner. The process included: power washing the brick, removing all old fasteners and mollys from the brick, filling all holes, priming everything and then painting the final coat. Because the brick and fascia were different colors, they went back and touched-up the fascia wherever there was any over paint from the brick. They even pulled back the landscaping stone and dirt around the foundation so they could paint as far down as possible. When they were done, they pushed back the dirt and stone to give the house a totally finished look. We were unsure about the final color we were going to use and Ronbo let us pick 3 colors that they got samples of and painted all 3 colors on different sides of the house. We ended up not liking any of them, as they were all too dark. So we went and got 2 more color samples, one of which we ended up using. Through it all, Don and the crew remained flexible and pleasant. This was not a cheap job. We had other companies quote us that were much less expensive, HOWEVER, they were not offering the same level of workmanship. Several wanted to spray the paint instead of hand painting and rolling. And, most others were not going to use a primer, suggesting the AURA paint already had a primer in it. Ronbo used the same paint, but also primed, giving us more confidence the paint would last. GREAT JOB! Highly recommend.

Ron was great to work with. The job was delayed due to the weather but when they started everything was as promised.They went above and beyond to satisfy me even surprising me by doing a task for free thought I would have to request. First Angie's list referral I've used for a large expenditure but would not hesitate you use them again.

For those of us who have these historic, Victorian-era homes, it's important to have a contractor who's familiar with their specific needs. If you've got an older home, you know that modern lumber isn't usually cut to the same specs as it was back in the day. Ron knows the places in town where he can still find the parts necessary to get the job done and knows how to make this old house look the way it should. His crew is well trained and uses the best paint for the job, prepares the site properly and works cleanly and efficiently. They are respectful, polite and tidy. Ronbo's estimate was detailed and accurate, so there were no surprises. Patchwork was done on a time and materials basis, as noted on the estimate, and was reasonably priced. I will use Ronbo again without hesitation. I've tried others in the past found out the hard way that a lower estimate usually means cutting corners in some way. When you're spending this much, you want the work to last, and I can count on Robo's to deliver on that.

Ronbo did a great job. They showed up when they said they would and kept everything clean while they worked. No stain went anywhere it was not supposed to. All three of my decks look great including the pergula. I would definitely recommend Ronbo for any of your deck painting needs.

What I got: was direct, straight forward answers - a realistic perspective of all the issues the exterior of my home presents. Risks/benefits if it is painted or stained, recommendations as to how it should be done for long term durability - and what not to do. He pointed out that isn't the paint necessarily failed - its the actual wood that is layering off adding to the durability concerns. Absolutely feel comfortable that his assessment is correct. There was no hard sales tactics. Not rushed in anyway. I was really impressed by Ron. If I decide to paint rather than side this would be the company I would want to do the work. Typically I would of those comparison shoppers, get multiple quotes.... my comfort level was such that I don't think I'd even need to do any additional looking at competitors. Thanks!

We are very happy with the work performed. Ron was prompt, forthright and very knowledgeable. His crews were all polite, punctual, and careful. Whatever areas of the house they were were working on were completely cleaned up at the end of day, which was particularly important to us when they were inside our house to paint the insides of the exterior windows. They even fabricated a few pieces to replace some damaged ornamental curlicues on the outside of the garage! Service above and beyond! We highly recommend Ronbo and his crews.

Ron himself came to give me an estimate. He was very prompt in returning my call and scheduling an interview to assess the job and give me an estimate. They were able to start working within a few days. The two work men work very polite and hard working.They tried multiple methods to remove the unco-operative wall paper border. Ron came by to oversee and lend a hand but in the end, after 3/4 of a day spent on a job that should have only taken an hour or two, the decided on a skim coat of plaster. On to the bead board which took 3 coats of paint as per my contract but still bled through. I don't know how many coats they finally had to put on but the finished product looks great. The ceilings that needed plaster repair are coved with a simple plaster trim that also needed repair. After making the plaster look as good as new there was some difficulty matching the ceiling paint and the wall paint. The room is large and we did not want to repaint the entire wall surface and ceiling but with trial and error and several trips to the paint store the perfect match was found. Ron came every day so check on progress. His workers left my house very clean each evening when they left. The job took a day longer than expected but looked great when finished. Ron came back the day after just to make sure that the bead board had not bled through again. It hadn't. I would definitely use Ronbos again and would definitely recommend them.

Outstanding. These guys work fast and do beautiful work. Period. Ronbo is a very direct guy - I respect him for that. He has saved us lots of money with suggesting not doing things to the house we can't recoup should we ever sell it. I highly recommend Ronbo and all his men.

I would never use or recommend Ronbo. So sorry I paid them for their services. Due to water damage, my bedroom needed much scraping, sanding, etc., After the job was done, I called Ronbo to complain about how the bedroom walls looked. He said he would come over to look at it but, he never showed. Then one night, he night unexpectedly is knocking at my door for his check. I deducted 15% from the bill but, at closer look, the walls look as if they were only lightly sanded and then painted over. I can see so many marks and imperfections and bumps. I'm so disappointed in myself for not having them come back and do the job correctly before I paid them. I learned a lesson from Ronbo and I really wouldn't advise anyone to use them. Ronbo himself should have come to check the job after I complained rather than show up at night at my door without calling and wanting his check. So unprofessional.

I discovered Ronbos Fine Painting on Angies List after a falling out with another painter. I received an estimate two days after calling Ronbos office for an estimate, Ronbo is a well respected and highly sought after painter, so waiting for an estimate is the norm. Armed with an estimate notebook and a pen Ronbo wrote down all of the painting I wanted in my four room condo. He made a few suggestions as to what would look nice in the condo, but he never out right told me what to get painted. He was patient and not pushy. I was given a fair estimate, if you want a professional paint job you have to pay for a professional paint job. The day the painting started Ronbos' right hand man, Don, and a crew of two men went over the details of the painting and went right to work. It took three men only two days to paint my condo to my exact specifications and they did an excellent job. Even with such difficulties as painting my radiators, I live in an old building with radiator heat, the painters were fast and efficient. After the job was finished, Don walked me through the condo to ensure, again, the painting was done to my liking. I was totally amazed at the incredible and professional job three men did in only two days of painting four rooms.

We looked into several painters, and got estimates from a few -- or tried to. When we called one place (which we found on Angie's List), the response was less than enthusiastic -- seemed like this vendor was too busy and couldn't be bothered to come look at our project. Another place we called (another Angie's List find) came out and promised to send us an estimate within 48 hours, but we never got it. Ronbo's came to us via personal recommendation from friends, as well as reviews on Angie's List. Very glad we decided to go with them! Ron and his crew were terrific throughout the project. Ron and his right-hand man, Don, were highly professional, courteous, prompt, and responsive. Ron worked patiently with us re: outlining the project and explaining the work to be done, and they got started right on schedule and stayed on schedule. The Ronbo crew scraped off all the old paint, including around the window trim, and resealed all the window trim after painting it, then re-painted the entire exterior and the front porch, which needed some light carpentry work to repair some old rotted threshold wood. Great attention to detail, especially with the window trim and the front porch. They also restained our deck in the back of our house, first power-washing it, and then restaining it. The deck hadn't been stained since I built it in 2003, and it now looks as good as new again! There was one tricky aspect to the work, which was replacing a couple of broken/missing siding shingles right behind our power line supply pole. We made a call to ComEd to request they add some slack to the line (and they came out and did it in only a day!), and Ronbo's did the rest. Ronbo's is certainly not the cheapest vendor out there, but as I said in another review for George's Concrete, you get what you pay for. In this case, it was great work, and great service. We would highly recommend Ronbo's work, and fully intend to have them come do some interior painting for us in the near future!

I have a lot of fence! The first day they power washed and removed moss and years of dirt and mold. Then 2 or 3 painters painted both sides working from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM for two days. They were careful to push aside all plantings so as to paint every inch of fence. And not one plant was destroyed in the process. Last year Ronbo did the house exterior, now the fence and this winter I will use him for some inside painting. He is as honest and dependable as you will find. He had quoted a price last year on fence and honored it this year without reservation. I highly recommend this company.

Ronbo was attentive and helpful choosing materials and techniques to be used on repairs. His workers were efficient, prompt and careful of my garden and flower areas. They worked long hours for 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The house looks great! I will use him again next year to do my fence and wood shed.

Can't say enough good about Ronbos. They got me out of a huge time bind (had hired a different painter who didn't work out, but needed to get rooms finished before move date) and had a competitive price at that. The painters were beyond punctual (early each day, including Saturday), friendly, and did exquisite work. They were able to make my old and damaged walls and ceilings look like new and made the very vivid colors chosen by my girls beautifully even and with perfect lines against the white trim. We have a lot of painting that will need to be done in the coming years, and I won't hesitate to return to Ronbos. Thanks again!

Ronbo's did an excellent job in all respects. They responded timely when I called to obtain an estimate and performed the work when they said it would be. The quality of painting, staining, and board replacement is very high. I very much appreciate their moving and returning the heavy furniture. I had a question or two that I called them about; they were very responsive. The work matched the estimate.

Quality was fine. Complained that I was asking for ceilings painted though.

They were excellent and did a wonderful job. -Old paint & window woodwork were in rough shape, they did great prep work. -Paid attention to detail and quality, some areas weren't accepting paint very well, they got it right. -Perfect match to existing colors which we liked. -Coordinated painting with other work we were having done so we didn't have to, made it much easier on us. After past unsatisfactory experience with others, we told Ronbo we wanted it done right...they delivered!

They were very hard working and professional. Worked 12 hour days to complete quickly. They left no mess or paint droppings anywhere. Will definitely use them again and would highly recommend them. A lot of fine detail work since it was a brick house. A lot of divided pane windows and doors and also included a pergola around the patio in pretty bad shape.

We needed to have our cedar siding retreated, exterior and interior trim painted. We contracted with Ronbo's to have work done on our home. They provided a fair price and prompt service. Ron gave us our estimate and Don was in charge of the job. The crew showed up on time and completed the work within two days. In addition i received two phone calls from Don to be sure that I was happy with the work after completion. We were very impressed with their followup and look forward to working with Ronbo's the next time we need them.

Ron is an excellent person to work with. He gave many excellent recommendations concerning paint colors, and used excellent paints. The bid was reasonable for the amount of work required on our home. His crew was professional, friendly, and did fine work. They took care not to damage any of our plantings and cleaned up well at the end of the day. The entire project went smoothly. We are very pleased with Ronbo's work and recommend the firm highly.

I received quick responses to all emails, texts and phone calls. Ronbo was extremely responsive, punctual and perfect in every way. It costs a bit more than I am used to, but well worth it in terms of a great experience. His crew also did a superb job cleaning up at the end of each day. Highly recommended.

I had some water damage in my basement. Ronbo's cut and replaced all of the damaged dry wall and then repainted the walls and trim. They did a very nice job and did what he could to save us some money. They did not insist on repainting the entire room and did a very nice job of blending the old and new wall sections. You could not tell what was newly painted and what was old. We were very pleased with their effort!

We were very happy with the work and the speed with which the job was done. It is important to point out that they did not need to repaint the entire room. They were able to blend the new with the old. It looks great and saved us some money in the process. Anyone would appreciate that.

The owner of Ronbo's is very congenial and professional. His crew worked exceptionally hard and had a unique system in place that allowed not only for great efficiency, but also a job well done. I would not hesitate to recommend their painting services to anyone.

The price was great, he beat all of the other estimates we received by at least $300. The quality of the work was very good and the overall process went well.
