Great experience! Arrived promptly for the estimate and was very good at walking me through the options and what they would look like in our particular application. Their estimate was significantly cheaper than any of the other Angie's List companies I had come estimate the job. With the down payment they went ahead and ordered the door for me. Due to some other construction work we were having done, timing and phasing of the various pieces of work was very important to us. These guys were extremely flexible about the timing. When the doors arrived and we were not quite ready for them, they held the doors in storage at no extra cost until we were a go. When it was finally a go, they arrived early on the day of the work. They were very professional with their guy explaining exactly what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. They got right to work and worked very efficiently and without much intrusion into our master bedroom. The workmanship was excellent. The door product seems very good and works perfectly the way we wanted it to. When the job was complete they cleaned up the site and left the construction site spotless. I would as highly as possible recommend these guys to anyone. They are the real deal!!

The owner came out and supervised the work of Victor, who was very knowledgable, and they did a great job on helping me get a better seal on my older windows.

I am very pleased with the service provided. When the renter to this unit moved out, it appeared the window was fine. When I cleaned the windows, however, this vinyl double-hung would not close. Apparently the original installer was no longer in business, so I looked to Angie's List for help. Obviously, I needed someone to fix it quickly in January. I called Scientific, was directed to Vic in repairs, was given an estimate and made an appointment within the week. Vic arrived on time and quickly solved the problem. He also looked at all my vinyl windows (6) and made small adjustments to some that hadn't locked properly in years (I wasn't too concerned as it was a 3rd floor unit). He charged the estimated amount with an Angie's List discount.

John was very professional and walked me through all the options and prices. Due to southern exposure, three windows need replacement. Took about 4-6 weeks for windows to arrive. First trip out they replaced 2 of the three. One window was not measured properly. Took another 4-6 weeks to get the replacement. Luckily not in a rush to have replaced. Look great and Mike the installer was also professional. Would recommend again.

I would use this company again without hesitation. I would recommend them to anyone. The cost for the repair was less than half of a local company that we received a quote from. Very professional and excellent work.

From beginning to end, the process was smooth and very satisfying. I am a first-time homeowner and this was the first project I brought someone else in to do. Jon came out to do the original quote/estimate and was very helpful. He gave me some great ideas not just for these replacements but for some other projects I'm lining up for the future. We spoke with three highly-rated (on Angie's List) companies. We excluded one because we felt the windows were lower quality and excluded the other for reasons detailed in the "F" rating I gave them on here. Jon gave me a line-item quote right out of the gate and even later provided me a quote on Marvin windows as I briefly considered going that route. We were told there would be a six-week wait on the windows but then got tripped up a bit with the Christmas holidays. Nothing I fault anyone for and the wait was consistent with what the other companies told me. Jay and John came out last Saturday morning and they were gone by 3:30pm. They were very considerate when it came to not leaving the door open or tracking around a lot of snow/mud. When they were done, they cleaned up to the point where both rooms looked better than when they started. The effect of the new windows was immediately noticeable. Both bedrooms were significantly warmer. I went to a few older windows and measured the glass temperature at 54 degrees. The new windows were 67 degrees and there wasn't a single draft. The guys did great work--the windows are gorgeous, the trim work looks better than I expected and I already got a compliment from a neighbor. I will definitely be using these guys for future projects. I honestly can't think of anything I would have had them done differently. Working with SHS was truly a pleasure!

The experience was excellent. They provided excellent workmanship and left no mess. The windows are great and I researched the product and it’s excellent. They were easy to work with and friendly, too!

Everything about the process, from getting the quote getting the work done was terrific.

I had three other contractors come out for estimates (two local and one big box store) and Scientific was the last one. Jon was very thorough and knowledgeable about the product and installation. They were not the lowest of the four estimates, but based on research and in talking to Jon, I felt that the windows Scientific offered (Soft-Lite) would be the best for my needs versus the other companies, that they would do the best job with installation, and that they would stand by their work/product (warranty). Jon also went over their standard practice of taking extra precautions outlined by the EPA during installation, assuming that there is lead-based paint present (other companies wanted to charge extra for lead testing and for more precautions should it be found). I was also pleased that Scientific wouldn't charge extra if rotten wood or other surprises were found once the old windows were removed. We ordered the windows and about six week later they were installed, which took about 4 hours. I'm very happy overall with the quality of the windows and the installation.

We contacted this company in order to inspect the condtion and quality of our windows. The windows wouldn't shut or secure properly. Victor arrived on time and got right to it. He was professional, knowledgable and a credit to his company and profession. He was patient with my questions and was able to explain fiscally responsible options for future work. I would recommend this company and should I need their services in the future, they will be my first call.

I called them after the great job that they did install a new bathroom window earlier this year. The serice/ salesman was Jon. He was great and responsive to my needs. They installers were Jay and John, super guys that did a great job!

Victor was able to come out at a time that worked for me very soon after I called. It took him only a few minutes to find and resolve the issues. He even took the time to show me how to maintain the windows to avoid common problems in the future. He was more than accommodating on price since it was such an easy fix. I will definitely call again the next time we have any issues.

It was outstanding! They were professional, responsive, punctual, and cleaned up after themselves. They were very reasonable. Any questions I had, they were very responsive to all of my concerns. I would defiantly use their services again if I needed any additional windows.

One of our windows was not closing properly. Victor came and immediately identified the issue and within 30 minutes, had the window fixed and operating. I had a handyman come through for other fixes around the house a few days before finding Scientific and had him look at the window. The handyman indicated the window was warped and he couldn't fix it. I was afraid someone would tell me I needed a new window but Victor's expertise was apparent when he showed me what was stopping the window from closing. The window was not warped. I don't blame his slight tardiness; getting downtown during morning traffic is probably the worst. Would highly recommend.

Outstanding job. They were very prompt, efficient & courteous. They kept everything tidy along the way & even polished the new windows. There were a few touch-ups needed / again, they did a great job. They are very skilled and proud of what they do and represent. I highly recommend them & if needed in my new home, will be sure to hire them.

Representative was courteous and easy to work with. Installers were pleasant, considerate, and careful. They covered any items indoors that could get dirty and completely cleaned up when done. A project that we expected to be an ordeal was painless.

Is there a grade better than A+. Service was impeccable.

When Victor and his colleague came back to fix the window, they were fast, efficient, and courteous. The window looks so much better. They also did a quick fix to the pull on my screen door at no charge and gave me advice about another window. I highly recommend these guys, they truly understand how to deliver a good service.

John was fantastic with the estimate. He was clear and did not push us to spend more than we needed to. The workers were very punctual, worked efficiently, professionally and calmly. I love our new windows and am glad we went with Scientific.

I had used Scientific Home Services a couple of years ago to replace most of my windows. I love my windows - they keep the heat and the cold out, there are NO drafts, and they also provide sound proofing from outside noises (like the el train a few blocks away). I needed to replace the final two windows, including the bathroom window. Jonathan was able to meet with me a few days after I called; he went through the details of the replacement and gave me the estimate. The bathroom window required a slightly different installation process so as not to damage any of the existing tiles surrounding the window. As soon as the windows were ready (earlier than expected!) Jonathan called and the work was scheduled. The workmen came on time and were courteous. No tiles in the bathroom were damaged. They cleaned up well on the inside of the house; I would have liked one more pass with the vacuum on the outside to get up those little pieces.

It went just as I hoped. They are a good company and they did what they said and it looked great.

There were only phone calls and Jon was very helpful throughout.
