I contacted Scientific for an estimate to replace our walk-in door on the garage. The old one was a commercial grade steel door and frame which was rusted and would stick. Jon came out and gave us an estimate for removal and replacement of the door and the frame. I was told it would take about 3 weeks for them to get the door and once it was in we could schedule a date for the work to be done. Like clockwork, 3 weeks after I paid the down payment, I received a call from Jon that the door was in. Three days later the worker came out and replaced the door. The worker was prompt and the work was completed quickly. The new door and frame look great and the door opens beautifully. It actually looks better than I expected. I am so glad that I no longer have to throw out my shoulder trying to get the door open.

Some of our windows were not closing easily or tightly within the frame, and we were getting a lot of condensation (in the form of ice build-up) on the glass in the winter time. My assumption was that we might need new windows. I called to get a quote. An appointment was made, and Jon Koloms came out. He was punctual and pleasant to deal with. He took a look at our windows, listened to my concerns, and told me that we do not need new windows. He spent a lot of time explaining solutions to my problems, and in general he was extremely patient and helpful. I had the impression that he knew what he was doing and that he was honest. If ever I need new windows, I will definitely call this company, and I'll give their name to friends who need new windows.

John called me within the 5 week estimated time that my windows had arrived. They were at my house to install the windows within a couple of days. Installation went quickly within 4 hours. An additional window, which was not measured, was earlier added to my order . We both assumed that it would be the same size as the others but upon installation, they discovered it was a slightly larger window. John was apologetic. Since this window was specially measured and ordered for my house, he asked if I had another window that might need replacing of the same size. If I purchased it, he said he would give me a special price on the larger window that needed reordering. This was done and he charged me half price for the newly ordered window (since I had to wait another 4-5 weeks). He also allowed me to pay within a certain time period for the additional window. When they cleaned everything away from the windows, they accidentally discarded the curtain rods for 2 windows. When I notified them, he amiably reimbursed me for their value. I was disappointed that the window screens seemed so light weight and wondered if my cats would be safe if they ran into them. The windows are on the second floor. John tried to accommodate me and installed free of charge a heavier grade pet screen on many of the windows. This screen turned out to be black and a heavier gauge which hurt viewing out of the window. After seeing that and after hearing there really was not another kind of screen I could purchase, John replaced these windows once again with the original screen. I appreciated him trying so hard to please a customer. The windows went through their first winter and held up beautifully.

I'm very grateful for Michael's advice on my problem. I was able to fix everything for $8 at the hardware store. He could have easily done the work himself and charged me, and I appreciate his honest advice and integrity.

This was the best $175 I have spent in I don't know how long. The provider spent just over an hour at my house, working quickly and very professionally. He was very cordial and responded to my questions as he was working. I was pleasantly surprised that replacing the screen in a large door screen was included in the cost. (I wasn't sure if only window screens would be included). Before Scientific Home Services fixed my windows, my house was cold and very drafty. On really cold days, I couldn't even sleep in my bedroom. But amazingly, this quick and inexpensive service made my home so much more comfortable. I absolutely would recommend Scientific Home Services to anyone who needed this type of service.

The work went very well overall. We are pleased with the result.

Victor came out and told me the problem was with bad exterior caulking around certain windows. He advised me on what professional grade caulking could fix the job - since brands in home depot etc would fail like the ones put around the new windows by the previous owner - (and how to do it). He also gave me estimates on replacing old windows. That was a bigger job than I needed, but I followed his advice on the caulk and the windows stopped leaking.

Victor came in and worked very hard to rebalance all of the windows. He was able to repair every vinyl window, even one that I thought I would have to replace. He worked hard to get all of the older windows completely repaired in just one day.

He really took the time to do it right. He spent a lot of extra time to clean up bits of caulk which he didn't need to do. He made some recommendations on some other things for me.

They did a great job. They showed up on time, completed the job in the time they said they would, showed me what they did, and gave advice about our windows. Great job!

The contractor called us to set up an appointment. The contractor arrived on time as discussed. He sealed all of our windows that had cracks, adjusted doors and eliminated any draft from under and above doors. He did both upstair and main floor. The person performing the task went above and beyond. We have noticed a big difference in relations to a warmer home and less drafty home. We will definitely use them again.

They did an excellent job. The salesman was very thorough with his explanation about what kinds of windows were available. They were incredibly task oriented. They said they were going to finish the job in 2 days but they did it all in 1 day. They were superbly clean. I actually wasn’t at home when they installed the windows and if I had not seen the new windows when I got home I would not have even know that they were here. I had got 3 quotes and they were the cheapest. I have recommended them to several people.

A wholly excellent experience. We received estimates/consultations from three A-rated providers off of Angie's list. While Scientific was not the least expensive, the quality of their windows was certainly superior making an apples-to-apples comparison slightly difficult. However, it was John's honesty, demeanor, and thoughtful presentation to us was what sold us initially. Having used a window contractor previously that was an absolute nightmare to deal with, we were gun-shy, to say the least, about replacing more. However the process was seamless from start to finish with Scientific. + Received the initial quote on 2/23 + Signed the agreement 2/27 + Measurements were completed on 03/01 + Windows arrived at Scientific on 03/28 (we were initially told this could take up to 6-weeks, so we were pleasantly surprised) + Windows were installed on 03/30 in one day Would recommend this company to anyone. The installation was a breeze. Jay, the installer, was top-notch professional. Would use again for sure.

They were very quick to return our call. They came as scheduled, a few days later. They quickly fixed the problem and checked the other windows to be sure they were working correctly, too.

He went above and beyond for me. I told him my longtime plans to not rehab my basement, and he gave me a better, less expensive plan, however, one that he could not fulfill. He referred me to someone to work on my windows for the time being and advised me what could be done to my windows 30 years from now. I was very impressed. He didn't take advantage of me but rather he described a better idea.

From start to finish we couldn't be happier with the job Scientific did! Jon was able to accomodate my work schedule and meet me later in the evening in order to give an estimate. He took the time to answer all of our questions and we felt his pricing was very reasonable. Once ordered, the windows arrived in approximately 6 weeks and we were able to schedule installation immediately. The two installers (I don't remember their names) arrived on time, worked quickly and left no mess behind. We will definitely call Scientific next time we are ready to replace some windows.

Before buying the deal, the owner promptly responded to my inquiry re: whether or not the company serviced my area. Once confirmed, I bought the deal and scheduled the service immediately. The assigned technician, Victor, contacted me within hours. He was able to accommodate my schedule and put me on the calendar for an appointment the next week. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He was friendly and courteous. He performed the work quickly and professionally. I would definitely call this company for similar service or if I was thinking of replacing windows. A good find for the price!

This is the third time I have used them. I used them before for a sliding glass door and an upstairs bathroom window. John and Jay arrived early which was great. Covered their shoes, covered the furniture located in the area where they were working. They did a very good job pulling the old windows and installing the new ones. They cleaned up after they were done, another super job!

Victor did the best he could with the windows. He calked every window, and went above and beyond in his dedication to his work. I was very happy with him and his superb attitude, and I would definitely call upon this company again if I needed them. I highly recommend this group.

Went well - arrived on time in spite of lousy winter weather, got needed information in less that 24 hours, which was critical, as we were under sever time pressure.

I needed a broken window fixed fast. I e-mailed two contractors late last night. Victor called this morning and stopped in on his way to work to measure. I think that's less than 12 hours. I got lucky because I'm "on the way." I will revise after the work is complete.

Everything went great. No complaints.

Fine, was prompt and very nice. Just seemed like they offered this deal to tell you your windows are bad and you are in need of new ones.
