The team at Scientific home services has been great from top to bottom. The estimator - - Jon gave us a good set of options and clearly explained the process. The Windows showed up almost three weeks earlier than promised. The installer (Damian and crew) came out and put the new windows in, cleaning up after themselves without a hitch. I will be using this company again.

We had Jason Smith and John Green installing new energy-efficient windows in 3 bedrooms, two baths and the kitchen. They were polite and very professional, worked hard all day and left everything clean and tidy. The windows are excellent quality and look great, we could not be happier with them. It was the best decision to choose Scientific Home Services and we highly recommend this company to anyone.

Both of our experiences were very positive. Jon was very informative and available when making our decisions and the installation process was the best experience I have had. They were polite, friendly, efficient and thorough. Jason and John left our home in better shape than they found it. I would highly recommend.

Scientific Home Services was a great company to work with. Jon came out for the initial discussion and quote. His overview of the windows was to the point and very informative. The price seemed reasonable for vinyl window replacement. Another company that came out for a quote took over 2 hours and the quoted price was significantly higher. After deciding to go with Scientific Home Services it took about 8 weeks or so get the windows installed, which was right on target with what was communicated to me. Mark and Damian led the installation which went very well. It took about a day and half to get all 11 windows replaced. There was an issue with one of the windows which had a scratch in it and had to be replaced. The company did not hesitate to quickly replace it a couple of weeks later. They truly made sure that the windows and their work was done properly. Overall, everyone at Scientific Home Services was extremely professional, friendly and punctual. The final price was exactly what was quoted. I would not hesitate to work with them again or refer them to friends and family.

From beginning to end a smooth and professional experience. Made appointment to get proposal on 7/30/14. Jonathan showed up on time and presented use with a price and time frame to do the work. Explained what he included in his price and how the instalation process would proceed. Gave us an approimate delivery of 6 weeks. Gave him an order and 6 weeks to the day the window was installed. Jason Smith and John Green showed up on time and ready to proceed. Jason was very professional with explaining what he an John would do. The installation went great and the window looks great! Could not be happier with the window and the experience.

Scientific Home Services provided both an excellent product -- Soft-Lite Imperial LS vinyl windows -- and excellent service by the two installers, Jason Smith and John Green. The salesman, Jonathan Koloms, also did a great job: his presentation was very informative, the frame and trim colors he offered look great, and he sold me just what I needed but nothing that I didn't need -- very important to a senior on a budget -- such that his quoted price was the most reasonable of the three that I obtained. Thanks also to Mark Brottman, the company president, for patiently answering my follow-up questions. My order was filled more quickly than I expected, and John and Jason arrived on time and completed a speedy and smooth installation of six double-hung sash windows and one casement window (there's just a little additional work to be done, but it's to correct a very minor defect -- nothing to do with the installation). They draped tarps and plastic sheeting over the floor and any furniture near the windows, and there was almost no mess inside the house -- just a little dust -- and they cleaned up very thoroughly outside the house, hauling away all the old storm and sash windows and other debris. Both Jason and John were very thorough in surrounding the windows with fiberglass insulation, and fastening and caulking the interior and exterior trim. Jason went the extra mile and installed aluminum trim over the wood trim on my living room picture window -- which is situated between two sash windows and which didn't need to be replaced because it's already dual pane -- to match the trim on the new sash windows so that it would look like a new window, too! That, along with trim on the outer frames that matches my front storm door, makes the whole front of my house look refreshed. My new windows are wonderful -- very sturdy and attractive. They're easy to open and close, and the tilt-in feature means no more fooling around with ladders, hose and brush to clean the outsides of the windows (except for the kitchen casement window, but I can reach it easily from my gangway with just a hose). That used to be sort of fun, but I ain't getting any younger! I love the fact that I can lower the top sashes (couldn't manage that with my old sash windows) for better ventilation. Outside temperatures have been quite temperate since the installation a couple of days ago so I can't yet tell the effect of the dual-pane windows on temps inside my house, but I have already noticed that my house is very much quieter than before -- traffic and other noise from the outside is markedly reduced. All in all, I'm extremely pleased with Scientific Home Services' products and service. I'm sure the company's other installers do a fine job, but if I were you, I'd specifically request Jason Smith and John Green -- a really great team! I recommend Scientific Home Services without hesitation.

Jason and John did the work. They arrived on time, were polite, did a nice job with the window installation, and cleaned up. We are very happy with the windows. I recently spent $16,000 installing Pella windows in my rental property and wished I had gone with this company. These windows look just as nice. Would use them again.

Victor, called me back within hours of my intial call and set up a time at our scheduled visit at the property. he was quick and efficient and gave us an immediate quote. My buyer felt very confident with his quote and knowledge.

Our windows were old and drafty. After consulting Angie's List, we got quotes from several top-rated replacement window companies. All the sales guys that came out were friendly and knowledgeable. Even though Scientific Home Services wasn't the lowest quote, we went with them because their product lines seemed a touch higher quality and it seemed Jon was more straightforward and complete in the information he gave for the estimate. Installation was impressive. Damian and Yuri completed the job in one day by working non-stop from 9 to past 6. Just as Jon promised, they maintained a very clean, lead-free work area. They were extremely polite and respectful of our home. And they answered any questions I had along the way. You could tell they were going all out to make my experience the best it could be. Oh yeah, and their craftsmanship and attention to detail is top-notch. From the free estimate to the installation of quality products, dealing with Scientific Home Services has been fantastic.

I am very satisfied with the entire experience. At the quotation stage, Jon made very detailed explanation and answered all of our questions about the replacement process and the features of Softlite windows. We decided to go with Scientific Home Services out of 4 contractors that quoted the work. I am particularly impressed with the installation over the past 2 days. Damian and his team did a really nice job. They worked non-stop from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. They explained everything they were going to do, got the work done exactly the way they described and addressed my questions and concerns. They worked fast and kept the rooms clean. In addition, our bay window used to have a big gap between the trim and the old window. Damian went the extra mile and spent a lot of time carefully leveling and adjusting the frame prior to the installation. Now the bay window looks spectacular! I don't think all contractors are willing to spend the extra time, especially on a Labor Day weekend, so I really appreciate that they did and showed their professionalism.

Victor and his associate arrived earlier (YEAH!) than expected-after calling to ask if that would be ok- and completed the work in about 20 mintues. They replaced the foggy window, sealed the new window in and moved the furniture back exactly where it had been. There was absolutely no mess and both men were friendly and polite. They did a great job and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I was very happy with the no pressure consultation we had with Jon. He was very helpful with explaining different options for our picture window. The installation was also easy and all of our windows were installed in one day. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again in the future.

The installation of the windows went smoothly, and we're super happy with the result. Damian and Yuri did a fantastic job, were respectful of our home, cleaned up great, and left us feeling like we got more than our moneys worth. We are always happy to do business with local vendors, especially those with excellent service. Scientific Home Services is just such a company. Jon came to our house to give us an estimate for the kitchen window. My husband and I both immediately felt that he was knowledgable and trustworthy. He advised us on types of windows NOT to get and was concerned to make sure the repair of the window (from winter ice damage) would be completed appropriately. As it turns out, when the window installer team came to put in the window, there wasn't as much need to make repairs on the wooden frame as we had anticipated. The installer called Jon who immediately modified the price, excluding the repair amount. We appreciated the company's honesty in doing just what needed to get done. We're delighted with a window that I can finally open easily over my sink!

Ok, so for the past 2 years or so my bathroom awning window latch wouldn't "catch" and therefore the window wouldn't stay closed. I decided to do some research and see what could be done to either repair the window or replace it. After calling no less than a dozen glass companies/window companies/contractors/handyman services, NO ONE would come out for one window. This was extremely frustrating. One last effort resulted in me doing a google search for 'window types' to find out what kind of window it was (hopper) and then searched for 'hopper window Chicago', which led me to Scientific Home Services. I then pulled them up in Angie's List and saw all the great reviews, and called them. I was able to explain my situation to Victor, and make an appointment. Victor called morning of to confirm our appointment, and showed up on time. After seeing the window and the problem he got to work. In less than an hour he had the latch fixed and the window was closing and opening as it had before. I was really impressed with Victor's professionalism and how he was able to resolve this issue when all others wouldn't even attempt to. Other window companies: this is how you build a good reputation. If I hear of anyone that needs windows or window repairs, I will refer them to Scientific Home Services.

Jon visited us soon after our initial call and explained the features and cost of the windows we wanted to replace. A gentleman came out soon after to verify the measurements Jon had taken and the order was finalized. After the promised number of weeks, the windows were installed by Damian and his helper. The work was fast and painless and they cleaned up everything (although their meticulous preparation and plastic coverings kept mess to a minimum) before going on to show the operation of the windows. Of course, the true test of these windows will be in a few months, but I'm hoping the next polar vortex decides to wreak havoc somewhere else.

Another excellent job by Scientific Home. I have used them in the past and they did not disappoint this time. Jon did a great job in giving me different options and explaining differences in insulation, noise blockage, etc. Damian did a great job installing the windows - he took the time to resolve issues with a couple of the window frames which would have caused problems down the road and was very helpful in showing me how to detach the windows, etc. Absolutely first rate!

They are actually very good. They are very knowledgeable, they told me what type of window and I went to the factory so actually the guy was not too far from me. I had him give me some personal experience that people would have because I went to the factory and I talked to the guys so they did a great job and especially the ones that I had and they were able to do nobody else can be able to work on and their prices were really reasonable. Some other companies were twice as much money for the exact same manufacture or whatever. So this was not one of those companies and so I would use Scientific Home Services again.

Jon was very helpful and easy to talk to. There was no hard sell. He even encouraged us not to bother with a couple of windows and proposed a new storm (rather than an all-new window) for another location. He explained the whole process and products thoroughly. We ultimately picked another company, but it was basically a coin flip because everything was comparable but you can't hire two people for the same job. The handles on the other company's vinyl windows were a bit more aesthetically pleasing (little handles instead of long loft bars). That's how close it was. I felt so confident about Jon that I'll be kicking myself if there are any headaches with this job. If you're getting estimates, definitely include his company on your list.

I was impressed with all of the positive reviews for Scientific Home Services, so I sent an inquiry and a few hours later, I received a call from Victor and we set an appointment for the following week. Victor called me before my appointment time to confirm our meeting and then arrived exactly on time. Upon checking the problem with the window, Victor took apart the window, lubed the block and tackles, replaced them and then tested his work. FIXED!! Totally brilliant! He was honest in telling me that the block and tackles I have are older and his work might not hold for long, but given the minimal amount he charged for the visit and the work he did, I was more than OK with this. I am very impressed with the follow up and the highly professional service I received from Scientific. Victor was very nice and I can guarantee that I will use Scientific Home Services for all future window work.
