Sam arrived on time and immediately got to work. It took him a bit longer to do the powder room than he thought so he wasn't able to paint our basement bathroom, which wasn't an issue. He was very meticulous and ensured that he cleaned up prior to leaving. He was personable, professional and such a hard worker that my husband and I said he would definitely use Your Painters, Inc and Sam in the future!

After several contacts were made by phone and by entering information on their website, we received a phone call and booked an estimate for a Monday evening at 6:30. No one showed for the estimate. We left a voicemail at about 7:00 pm as well as the next day and also left a message on their website. We received no response nor ever any explanation of what happened. I was impressed by their reviews on Angie's List and by their website and they were initially my top choice before receiving some estimates. I'm disappointed by their lack of professionalism and are happy to have booked a different painter.

There were several reasons we decided to hire a professional painter to paint the majority of our home. It was a big job, so we decided to turn to Angie's List and go with a pro. One of the reasons we selected Your Painters from the three bids we received is because the quote they sent us specifically addressed not only the painting, but all the prep work and cleanup they would do. We are very disappointed in the lack of attention to detail while painting, and especially with the mess Your Painters left behind in our home afterwards. Once the crew figured out that we are moving and selling the house (they asked this question directly), the quality of their workmanship appeared to go out the window. There were many issues with the paint job, including the wrong color used for the second coat in the kitchen, missing entire sections in the dining room, upstairs hallway, master bathroom and elsewhere, and missing the second coat in the dining room, foyer, and on the ceiling in several places throughout the house. I understand that mistakes happen, and they did return to correct these oversights. What is more frustrating, though, is what we found afterwards. We found paint on our antique dining room set after they had already been back to fix the painting oversights. At this point, there was no way I was going to let them back into my home to repair the damage done - there were no more "second chances." We spent several weeks cleaning drywall dust up throughout the entire house and removing paint splatter and drips off furniture, floors, baseboards, stairs, banisters, door and window frames, outlets, light switches, a brick fireplace, and light fixtures (even fixtures I lowered away from the ceiling so they could paint around them). Even worse, the crew member that returned to fix the painting mistakes knew about the mess. The day he came back, he asked my wife if she was refinishing woodwork because she was working on removing paint splatter from the stairs the entire day he was there. Once he figured out she was cleaning up the mess they left behind, he gave her a bottle of Motsenbocker's Lift Off to help remove it (it does help). At no time did he offer to take care of the mess, however. I contacted the owner with my complaints about the mess. He was completely unaware of the cleanliness issues and responded with several hollow "customer service" statements, such as: Your Painters: "This was a one to two day job." My Response: This was bid as a one day job. Your quote stated, "The entire interior project can be completed in 1 day, but always good to plan for an extra day just in case." Your Painters: "The fact that it took a little longer shows that as we realized the scope was a little larger than anticipated (meaning we fully repaired everything in the best possible way without taking a shortcut that could affect the life span) yet we took the time needed to do a first rate job." My Response: We respectfully disagree that this was a "first rate" job. Furthermore, we believe this job was woefully underbid as a 1 day job (with 1 extra day just in case), and the crew was rushing and hard pressed to complete it in 3 days. Your Painters: "At no point did I come back and tell you that this would cause an increase in the price, which was within our rights as an Illinois contractor. We do whatever is needed to deliver the results our customers expect and deserve." My Response: Is this a thinly veiled threat that he could have charged additional for underbidding the job? Your Painters: "To say that you didn't trust us seems odd." My Response: Really? After we found paint on an antique dining room set it's odd for me not to trust you to take care of it properly the second (or third) time? Sorry - when you got paint on the furniture, your credibility went out the window. Your Painters: "You trusted us to return and complete the touch up painting to your complete satisfaction a week later." My Response: We never stated things were done to our satisfaction, and one cannot make that assumption. Things are not to our complete satisfaction, but after having the crew in our home for 3 days, then returning again to fix their painting errors and omissions, and then finding the scope of the mess left behind, we are tired of dealing with it and Your Painters. Two more examples: there are tape edges in the kitchen along a chair rail where the old color is showing through. The putty used to fill nail holes on the chair rail in the kitchen was not color matched to the stain properly. What's more, I heard the crew debating the correct color for the putty, but they never followed up to correct it. I shouldn't have to keep following up over and over or babysitting a "professional" to make sure they are doing a good job. That's why we hired a "professional." Your Painters: "The same attention would have been given to any concern you raised." My Response: Concerns about cleanliness, preparation, and paint drips and splatter were raised before the work even started. Why should I assume that things will be handled any differently after the damage is already done? Update 8/22/2016: The service provider's response is both misleading and dishonest. Contrary to his response, I sent him a check for the full amount of the invoice. At that point he was free to deposit it, but decided to return the check after reading this review to compensate us for the hassle. That's not the type of company I run and I've already spoken to each person on my team at our weekly meeting this morning. Andy is out of town on vacation. No check arrived today, but bank sent checks average about a week. I will not cash your check until I know how I am going to be able to make this right for you. Everything went great. The painters showed up on time every morning, they covered everything and got to work. They corrected nail pops and wall cracks. They painted ceilings, trim and walls. Dave had a good crew of painters in, they came in and got the house painted in 2 days. There was a slight misunderstanding regarding painting of the bathrooms, but we spoke to Dave and he had guys back out the next day to paint the bathrooms. There were a few places that had to be touched up, but that wasn't a problem either, they came back and fixed the spots. Due to all of the rain, they had to come back and paint the deck. But, they were there as soon as it was dry enough and got the job done. This was a very positive experience and I would recommend Dave and his team to anyone that asks me if I know a good painter. I also really appreciated that Dave did not request payment until we were satisfied with the job. He stands by his work! Thanks for the great job!!

This company is great to work with! They're easy to contact, they set up appointments promptly, they do quality work, and the charge is always reasonable. We've used them repeatedly, and we recommend them highly.

The project didn't go as planned. The owner came to give me an estimate. Very nice man. The estimate sounded reasonable. I bought the paint for the project. A crew of three guys came to the house. I explained what I wanted done and that I had protector strips on the corners that would need to come off. I discussed with the head painter about whether to put the protector strips back on the corners and decided not to. After the painting was done, I notice that there were some nail holes where the protector strips had been. Apparently, a couple of the painters didn't get the message that the corner strips were not to be put back on. I called and asked that they come back to fix the holes. One of the crew members returned with instructions to only patch the holes. I had noticed that several of the patches that had been done were not smooth so I ask if he could fix those as well. After he had done the patching, we realized that the patched spots were very obvious. The only way to fix it was to repaint the whole wall. He did say that he was only supposed to patch but knew it would not be a good job if he didn't. So he was very nice about taking the time to paint the entire wall. The other thing I noticed about the crew, was that they used my kitchen sink to clean their tools. I wish they would have asked if I had a utility sink which was in my basement. Didn't think about having to tell them that at the beginning. Overall the rooms look nice but the work was not done up to par.

From the start a pleasant experience. The owner, Dave, is a fun guy; straightforward and easy to work with. The cabinet job took longer than expected, and the guys had to work around some changing conditions due to other trades coming in. The two painters I had in my home were good natured and personable. Harry was a workhorse, and Krystian was very attentive to details. Both were great workers, each with different strengths. They took care to clean up each day, leaving no trace. End result: my cabinets look great, my newly installed baseboards are painted and a nice topper to my brand new floors. If I had any problem, it was addressed. Dave came by after the job was done, I showed him a couple of things that I was unhappy with. No problem, it'll be fixed. Then he saw something that bothered him on the cabinets, so he's sending Krystian back to fix it all up. Wasn't even part of the original plan, but he said it was something that had bothered him in his own kitchen, and it wouldn't be right if it wasn't fixed. He asked if I'd like to see it "go away" and I absolutely did. This same issue had been bugging me for years. Only complaint, and it's a small one, is that I was billed additional charges over the quoted price. We did discuss it and work it out. The extra charge was something that I feel should have been communicated during the process of the job, not appearing on an invoice at the end without warning. I stress that we did work it out quite easily. Dave is very easy to work with and his main objective is to provide a quality service, and make sure his customer is happy with the results. That's working!

Everything was great! We picked out our own colors and types of paint, which was not included in the price. We appreciated being able to do that! We had a dark dining room and the paint company had recommended a premium paint to cover in two coats. Your Painters purchased the paint with their discount and then submitted an invoice to us once the painting was complete. I had made a list of colors for walls and ceilings in each room and they followed it without having to ask us what to do in each room. The ceiling cut-ins were exact as were the baseboards. We will definitely use these painters again when we are ready to do bedrooms. We'd recommend them to anyone who wants a professional, fantastic looking paint job!

I love these guys. Harry is the best painter in the bunch. Used the many times and service is always spot on. Dave the owner is punctual at answering email, even whilst on vacation.

I hired them to paint my daughter's bedroom. The condiition of the walls were awful. There were stains from party tack, areas where stickers/posters had been removed, holes from shelving that was taken down, etc. The painter came in, patched and repaired and the room looks like new. I bought the service on one of the daily deals and they called me right away, were easy to work with and accomodating on date.

It was fine. My only issue was that I’d purchased a day’s worth of painting, and they were late to the appointment, went home early, and took a lunch break. They weren't at the home for 8 hours. The work was good and the painters were helpful but we'd need to work on communication on the timing.

I bought the $249 deal painter for a day (8 hours) back in November, 2013. After emails conversatoin and because I am not good at measurements, Dave came to my home to see exactly what I wanted done and he gave me an estimate of how many hours it would take to complete. It obviously would be more than 8 hours. Based on the estimated hours, I decided to just have them do the master bedroom, baseboard and 3 new doors and trim. This would require two days of work. The painter arrived on time at 8:00 and worked with only two small 5-10 minute breaks. He was very pleasant, professional, neat, easy to to business with and seemed very knowledgable on how many coats that I would need based on the color that I chose. I originally was told two coats so I bought two gallons but he suggested that I would need a third due to the color so I took his advice. He also gave me information on what not to do such as hanging pictures right away. I am extremely pleased at how everything looks and will definitely use them to paint my bathrooms and the rest of the doors. This is the first time that I have used professional painters.

They were good. It was a great service. They were clean and they did a nice job. We had a flood and we had removed half the wall board from the floor up and we had gotten the wall board replaced and primed and then we had them come in to do the job. The work that they did looked good. They were nice and very pleasant to work with. It is always nice when they leave your house and they do not leave splatters all over the place. Everything was cleaned up and in good shape. They were respectful. We had no complaints because there was nothing to complain about. It was a really good deal.

I thought the painter was rude from the get-go. Touch up on baseboards didn't turn out well.

They kept the area very clean, during and after the work was done. I paid a promotional fee for the work but even if I had paid full price, it was a great experience.

David arrived right on time and got right to work. He covered the floors with canvas and the furniture and bookcases with plastic. While I was hoping he would do the walls in a day, he also offered to do the ceiling and said he thought he could get it all done in one day. He did, and he painted the crown molding too. He put two coats on the walls. When I showed him some dings in the kitchen doorway, he repaired and painted them too. He was personable and hardworking. A pleasure to deal with. I would recommend this company wholeheartedly.

.I originally called Your Painters several months ago when I was beginning work on remodeling my entire kitchen. I had researched several painters in my area through Angie's List and asked three different providers to submit estimates for work I needed to be done. Dave from Your Painters, who I spoke with on the phone, made an appointment to come out to my house to find out what I wanted done. He was punctual and generally seemed interested in my project. The estimate he provided me was reasonable so I hired Your Painters to do the work. I had a contractor who was doing the majority of the work on my kitchen so Your Painters had to work around the contractor's schedule and perform work at various stages throughout the project. Your Painters was very flexible with their work schedule. On the first day Your Painters came to my house, an "army" of four painters arrived to do the work. They all worked together to get the work done. We were so pleased with their work, we decided to have additional interior painting done in other areas of the house beyond the kitchen. Most of the days Your Painters was at our house, Harry, was the only painter. He was professional at all times and did a great job. A part of the work Your Painters did was staining two new six panel doors to be used for our pantry. These doors were inexpensive wood doors, pine, I believe, purchased at Home Depot. For some reason, after the doors were stained, they looked terrible. There were blotches even though Your Painters applied 5 or 6 coats of stain. It was as if the doors had been handled before they were sold and there were stains from greasy hands or from something having been spilled on them. We returned the doors to Home Depot and got two new ones. Those were better but still required 6 coats of stain before we were happy with them. Your Painters was most concerned with our happiness and satisfaction and never once complained about the increased work they were doing at no additional pay. We also asked Your Painters to give us an estimate on some outdoor work. We had some wood on the front of the house that was showing it's age. There was some mold starting to form and it was badly in need of re-painting. The estimate Your Painters gave us was very good and they performed the work with the same excellence we had experienced with their other work. It's great to find a company which does such quality work and is as concerned about satisfying their customers as Your Painters is. We will definitely be calling on them again!

He was a easy guy to get along with and was very personable. He was knowledgable. His employees were good, they took their time and cleaned up well. What he discussed with me happened.
