 + -1 moreMark was prompt and friendly and he called us ahead of his arrival so we didn't have to take a whole day off of work. He also didn't try to sell us any unnecessary work. Price was very reasonable and the office staff was very courteous and accommodating. I called at 8am and they were at the house by 1pm. This is the second time we've used Mike's Bremen Service and we were treated very well both times. They are the ones we will call from now on.

 + -1 moreIt was really good. The lead technician, Kevin, arrived promptly. He was cheerful, professional, filled me in on what they needed to do and then did it. He had an assistant who was also very nice. The job was completely quite quickly and they cleaned up after they were done. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: I needed my wall oven pulled out and new flexible gas pipes installed plus a turn off valve and lack pipe. I had called someone else who was unsure and had to call their owner and there was a lot of hesitation. This company (the one I used) was great. The lead guy Kevin was wonderful, cheerful, professional. The helper he brought with him was good too

 + -1 moreHe said it just wouldn't be worth it being nine and a half years old. I only paid for the service because he couldn't repair it. I had to buy a new washer dryer eventually. He was very generous with his fee. He said, "I'm not going to charge you since I can't repair it." The guy was great.

 + -1 moreI emailed Mike's Bremen Service on a Tuesday evening after business hours and was promptly contact the next morning. They were very courteous and scheduled my repair for that day. I was told the serviceman would arrive between 2 and 4. Not only did he arrive in the window but he called ahead of time to let me know he would be arriving shortly. Lon was great, he prompt, courteous and went above and beyond. He took the time to thoroughly vacuum out the dryer, explain why lint backed up into the dryer, show me what part was being replaced and recommend a few extra cleaning and maintenance steps. I would recommend this service to all and if needed I will definitely use Mike's again.

Description of Work: The first time they came Lon the repairman seemed to know what he was doing as I wrote in my 1st review on May 9th, hours later the refrigerator started making the same clicking on and off every 2 seconds and the freezer section was all frosting up again the same as before they came. I called them the next day and they came back out, the same guy named Lon. He was rude and unhappy that he was wrong the first time and had to admit it. He put some other part in and had to blow dry the freezer coils since they iced up again, worse than before he ever came to my home. He left without explaining anything and did not even say I am sorry for your trouble. The next morning, guess what, the same noise again and more frost and ice in freezer. I asked for another repairman to come back, 2 days later Kevin came out and put in a different part all having to do with the control box for defrost system. It was alright for a 2 days and the same happened again. Each time they came out they had to defrost all the ice and frost build up behind freezer wall with a hair dryer, that is the only reason it would work for a few days and cool at 40 degrees then go back up to 50 degrees in he bottom refrigerator not the freezer. I have a thermometer in the regular refrigerator bottom not the freezer so I know f it warming up again to 50 degrees again. Now we got Mike the 4th time out here and he put in another part and was going to leave without defrosting the top freezer, the real reason it still was not working again, and said you should leave it off for a few days Till another part comes in, I have no where to put all my food, and I got very upset when he said he had other customers waiting. I told him he had our money for weeks now and it still is not fixed and this was the fourth time to my house. He then defrosted it with dryer again and now wants me to wait till next week for another pArt and my food will spoil for sure, what can I do. I called Angies list members services and they told me to rewrite my review, which I am d***. I trusted Angies repairmen list but now I am very upset that you have him listed with good reviews that cannot be true. I do not think I will renew, this scares me not to believe your reviews since this business I contacted does not know how to fix my refrigerator after 4 try's. Very dissatisfied. .

 + 0 moreBremen's was our third company to assess our problem and provide potential solutions and quotations. Upon Mike's arrival he completed a quick assessment of my situation. Our AC units are still originals and over 20 years old, but working effectively providing 55 degree cooling at the vents in the house. The problem was with the A-frame evaporator coil that was rusted out and leaking condensation down the furnace. He provided an estimate to replace the coil, or alternatively to change out one or both of our AC systems complete. His price quoted was the lowest of three quotes for system replacement. After consideration of my Armstrong "work horse" AC units, and knowing that we only use the systems about 60-70 days per year, we decided to just replace the coil and assume some risk on how long the condensers would continue to last. Mike never pushed the obvious and reasonable logic of full system replacement. In fact, he presented all options and discussed the benefits and risks of them. Within 48 hours our coil was replaced. Mike and his helper accomplished the work in a couple hours. Both were professional, courteous and friendly. Mike confirmed all systems were working properly and gave some suggestions on how to clean and maintain the outside condensers. He also replaced some exterior piping insulation. System is now providing 53 degrees at the vents-incredible for a 20 year old system. Mike reminded me of his coupon in Angie's List. His price for work was fair. I've got confidence that this family owned business will provide excellent service for a fair price and give you all options so that the best decision can be made on repairs or replacements.

 + -1 moreMike's Bremen Service did a great job when they fixed my dishwasher. They were on time and friendly and took the time to explain what they were diagnosing. After determining the issue with the dishwasher they were able to repair the dishwasher onsite and use parts they had onsite. This helped reduced my total cost and keep the total cost just over $50. I would use Mike's Bremen Service again if the need arises.

 + -1 moreVery happy with the furnace and A/C check up and the price. My dishwasher wasn't working because the motor had seized up. He was able to get it going in less than 5 minutes and only charged me a few dollars for that. Appreciated his advice that the cost of replacing the motor would be close to the price of a new dishwasher. So that will be my next step if the motor seizes up again.

Mike Jr. referred us to Blink Appliance and recommended a Speed Queen. We drove and spoke to Doug Blink and purchased a Speed Queen without all the electronic sensors. Someone was out within an hour, replaced the ignition switch for a reasonable price and now it's working smoothly. When I asked if the unit needed to be replaced (as I had been told previously by another dealer) I was told to "see how it goes". I appreciate the honesty. This was my first experience using Mike's, it was extremely positive, I was also pleased to learn that they also repair appliances. Since I like to keep my business local, if at all possible, Mike's has all my future business.

 + -1 moreEarly Saturday morning, messaged Mike's Bremen regarding having someone come out evaluate my sump pump. Based on the previous reviews they had lost a few jobs for not being first to reply so I was not surprised that Debbie responded quickly with a few specific, prescreening questions. I liked the fact that they were relatively local, had good recent reviews and were a smaller company. We scheduled a time for that morning which then got bumped to a later time. Kevin and Paul showed up within the second time frame. They were very professional; Kevin listened to the history of issues and recommended replacement. Because of Debbie's prescreening, the equipment was on the truck and the whole replacement process took less than 1 hr. The price was a little steep but now I have peace of mind that I have a warrantied, sound sump pump.

 + -1 morea screI asked Kevin if he could replace a missing screw on the over door handle; he did not have it. I offered to show him my bottles of screws in the basement; he did not respond. He said I needed to go to a hardware store with a screw from the other side of the over door for a match. I wish he had offered to remove one of those 2 screws for me. That would have prompted me to try and find the right screw either at a store or in my basement. I like a repairman to do something as simple as that to help a senior citizen.

 + -1 moreThis was by far the worst experience Ive ever had with any service provider. Lets start with the communication process....you schedule an appointment and think they're coming out but they actually do not. They call you first and if you dont happen to answer your phone when they call you get a message stating "Oh, I see your not home so you'll have to reschedule" when in fact your actually are home, sitting there waiting for them all day. Thats a first, Ive never scheduled a service appointment before where they don't come if you don't answer your phone...usually they knock on your door to check if your home right? So that happened twice and four days went by before they finally came out to my home. So I call the direct number, finally reach someone and they tell me its my fault because I gave them my number instead of my wife's number who was the one at home waiting. So now the service guy finally comes out, looks at the dishwasher for 5 minutes and says I need a new control board for $325 or I can spend another $600 on a new, good dishwasher...basically says the one I bought that's only two years old is cheap. So, I do some research...order the control board which was $110...put it in myself which took literally 10 minutes. so $325 for $110 part and ten minutes of labor....rip off. I get the new board and put it in. To my own fault, I didn't know I had to program the board so I had to have them come back out. After another unsuccessful attempt because I didn't answer my phone, they cancelled and rescheduled without my knowledge for a day and time I never requested. So of coarse I call and reschedule and someone still calls me to come out on the wrong day I never even scheduled. Service guy finally comes out, reprograms my board which take another 10 mins and charges me another service fee. Save yourself the hassle, time, money and choose another provider.
