Very poorly. The unit that they installed was shorter than the one I had in so they reconfigured the plumbing to make it fit. The result of that was that the sinks would not drain properly. The wife said it was my dishwasher's fault, the son came out and said it was the dishwashers fault, and the husband could not get here on a timely basis because of being shortstaffed and the holiday. I called in a plumber and he configured the plumbing so that my sinks drained. A lot of time and energy was spent on my part trying to get Mike's Bremen to take care of the matter, but they kept procrastinating and so I called in the plumber. I also learned that they overpriced the work when I went on Amazon prime to get a quote on installation and price of the same unit. I did write to them but they would not refund in full.

Our service technician supplied and replaced your garbage disposal for $229.95, less than our normal cost of $240. He did not replace nor reroute any PVC pipes under your sink. He is not a licensed plumber, thereby not qualified to do such even if you had requested for him to do so. We went out 2 more times, for which you were not charged for per our warranty. We did indicate that perhaps the dishwasher could be an issue if there is a problem with the draining. Repeatedly we told you to call a plumber. We had a technician on vacation and during the busiest week of the year Thanksgiving week. We tried to have Mike come out and you did not answer his calls. [Redacted] also does not do installations. In addition, during the first service call our technician looked at your oven that you indicated would not turn off and did not charge you at all for that service. In summary, we provided you a working, functioning, new garbage disposal installed. We informed you that you needed a plumber for further repairs, therefore we cannot refund you. We did offer that if the plumber gave you a receipt that indicated we were at fault we would refund you, however we have not received the receipt since the service 7 months ago.

Called on Friday - February 17th and Mike came on the 18th. Checked everything out & determined the motor was bad. Contacted Mike's Bremen Service late that evening, was answered by a very pleasant lady and was told somebody would be out the next day. Received a call from the Tech next morning stating the approximate time he would be there. He arrived promptly and proceeded to trouble shoot the problem. Found and replaced a defective freezer fan. This repair was completed 1 1/2 months ago, and the unit has been working perfectly ever since. Would not hesitate to use them for any appliance service.

TERRIBLE! called them for dryer repair. repairman arrived, turned dryer on, within minutes determined i needed a gas valve. dryer was turning off after 4 minutes of heating. repairman suggested i just buy a more expensive dryer as a new gas valve, service call charge and labor would be $400.00. i decided to replace valve as unit is only 9 years old, called them the next day to order part and replace when the part arrived. two days later a different repairman came to install new gas valve and after 1 minute determined it was not the gas valve. he ran the unit with no clothes in it and after 4 minutes unit shut down again. this repairman told me he didn't know what was wrong but would order a new control board for "about the same price of the gas valve" ($400.00) i had read in the owner's manual that there was a dampness sensor that read the wetness of the clothes and ran until the sensor read the clothes as dry. i suggested to the repairman that we run it with wet clothes in the unit, which then ran as expected. the next day a lady from mike's called to see if the repair was satisfactory. after explaining the above to her and that no repair had been performed, I had diagnosed and remedied the problem and requested my service charge be returned. she adamantly refused stating two repairmen had been out so a service charge was "fair to the customer" i disagreed and her refusal to return my money prompted this response. she did tell me that if i needed them to come out again within 30 days there would be no service charge. i will never call them again to repair anything and i recommend you don't either!!

Hello [Member Name Removed], This was your second call to us I noticed. I understand your washer is still running well. Your husband [Member Name Removed] 's initial call in was that your dryer was turning off after 4 minutes. We came out the next day. The first technician's diagnosis was based on the fact that the dryer presented exactly as you described. He did suggest perhaps replacing your dryer due to the expense of the repair. Most customers prefer to replace when the cost of the repair is half or more of the cost of a new machine. We do this to look out for you our customer. You told him you weren't sure at that time, he collected our reasonable service fee of $49.95 and left. The next day you called back to have us order the gas valve. We sent our senior technician to install it as soon as it came in 2 days later. We sent him instead of the initial technician so that he could reaffirm the diagnosis. Our instinct was correct in sending him as his experience says your control board is going out, not your gas valve. We did not want to charge you unnecessarily. The pricing is approximately the same. The dryer did work correctly when you put the wet clothes in this time. The technician cycled the dryer twice for 10 minutes each time without it shutting off. However, previously it was not, which is why you called. This is also an indicator of the control board going out. We cannot refund your $49.95 service fee. We sent not 1, but 2 technicians to your home. We gave you a diagnosis, which we stand by. All our customers have 30 days for us to come back out if the same issue is occuring. If you have another appliance repair company come out, diagnose and repair it, and it is a completely different problem please give us a call. OK - on the first visit they identified that the vent leading to the outside looked like it had a bird's nest in it. They said they would need to come back and clean that out and it was an additional charge. I scheduled it twice and both times they cancelled because other HVAC work needed to be done for other clients and based on the cold weather that was a priority. In one instance I had already taken the morning off of work. We rescheduled and they said they would be there and then the morning of cancelled again.

The company did not call to tell me what time to expect them so I ended up hiring a different company. I will not use them in the future nor recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: I called on Monday, 10-24-2016, to schedule an appointment to have my furnace checked before the winter. I was told someone would come out on Friday, 10-28-2016, and he would call me to let me know what time to expect the technician. I really hate these type of appointments because they tie up your whole day - you can't make any other plans because you don't know what time the technician will be coming. Luckily, I was able to schedule an appointment to get the windshield on my car replacement because the company sends someone out to your place of residence. Anyhow, my car windshield was replaced by 9am on Friday. I called Mike's several times and even left a message. I never heard from anyone by 10am. I called several times and keep getting the answering machine. I called at 11am and, finally, reached the receptionist who proceeded to call the technician. She told me I was his second stop and he would be at my house between 12-2pm. I had to cancel because I had already scheduled someone else to come to my house. I have used this company in the past and have been very pleased with their work. But this scheduling is too much. Why do they think it is ok to make the customer wait until the day of the appointment to determine what time they will arrive? And, as in my case, they never call, what does that do for the customer? After I could not reach them by phone, I felt I had no other choice but to hire someone else. Thank goodness I had another appointment, otherwise, my day would have been ruined.

As it turns out, I believe my fridge was beginning to die and the first thing to go out was the icemaker. However it took 2 ice maker replacements and three visits from the repairman to reach that conclusion. By that time, we had already lost many frozen items. On the first visit, the repairman said the ice maker " definitely needed to be replaced." I called back to the office the next day when there was no ice produced by the new icemaker. The repairman was dispatched out to our home again to check on the icemaker. He removed the icemaker and said it had not been plugged in properly and that was the reason it did not work. However, seven hours later, there still was no ice produced, so I made another call to Bremen's office and scheduled another appointment. I had to work from home another day in order to accommodate the repairman's schedule, which I gladly did. For the 3rd visit, I let the repairman in and immediately went back to my home office to complete a conference call. When the repair man was done, he yelled out that he was about to leave. He had replaced the ice maker yet again with a different one and indicated that we should have ice in a few hours. He left and so did a $2 bag of candy that had been on the kitchen counter. Admittedly, I did not see him take the candy but only the 2 of us were in the house. Of course when I called the office about it, which really felt silly on my part except that it could just as easily have been a diamond ring, the repairman denied taking the candy. I would have given it to him had he asked. Anyway, about six hours later, not only was there no ice produced, but everything in the freezer had begun to thaw. The temperature in the refrigerator had also begun to rise to an unsafe level. Unfortunately, I had just purchased groceries two days earlier so the next morning I had to take a few hours off of work to go and purchase a new refrigerator. The excellent customer service that I received upon my initial calls quickly disappeared when I informed the company that my fridge was now broken and that I had to purchase a new refrigerator and that the service man should come and pick up the icemaker that had been installed. The office left a message for me that was not clear and I thought that they were returning $90 of a total $258 charge. I called back to say that a $90 return was not a fair amount and that although I did feel some charge should be assessed, I felt what that $90 was not a fair amount. Apparently, the messages said they would return $190, which I felt was a much better offer. However, they were not very flexible about when they would pick up the ice maker they had installed on the 3rd visit; I asked if they could pick it up that day which was a Tuesday or the next day which was a Wednesday, since I would be working from home both days and the new fridge was scheduled for delivery early Friday morning. The call just took an ugly turn at this point, although I had anticipated that based on the change in attitude upon my informing Debbie from Bremen that we purchased a new fridge. She had interrogated me about the type of fridge I purchased and when I told her, she said "you should have talked to me first. Everyone hates those and we don't service that brand." To which I could only reply no problem because I had no intention of calling them again. We went back-and-forth about the scheduled pick up of the icemaker. My new fridge was to be delivered early Friday morning and they wanted to send the repairman out on Friday morning to get the icemaker. I indicated that this would not work because I felt like it would be just my luck that they would both show up at the same time. To which Debbie responded that "we will refund your money when we get our icemaker." So I contacted my credit card company and had them reverse the payment. I then called Debbie and informed her that I had done so and indicated that I would have a check ready for the repair man upon his removal of the icemaker. Since they were completely inflexible at this point, I had to work yet another day from home to be available for the repairman to remove the icemaker and pick up a check.

I called Mike's Bremen late in the evening and they responded promptly. They came out and had to rewire a temporary fix to get the unit running and then came back later to replace the electrical hardware that was burned out by the lightning. I have been using them for the last 10 years, for HVAC service and replacement of water heaters, with success.
