A-1 PEST CONTROL

A-1 was very responsive and schedule an appointment for the extermination services at our convenience. The exterminator sprayed for ants and other similar crawling creatures. He put out sticky traps for mice. So far we haven't seen any further pests...We signed up for the quarterly plan.

For several weeks, we would find ants on our kitchen counter in the morning. We would spray household ant control aerosol, but to no lasting effect. Finally found A-1 who came out just a few days later. The ants totally disappeared. The company came out again 2 weeks later and checked everything. Nice people. Good service.

From the first call to A-1 until they left the house, the experience was wonderful. The woman on the phone was helpful and knowledgeable, she provided an accurate estimate, and knew her bugs. The gentleman that came on Saturday morning was polite, professional and informative. He was friendly to our cats and took his shoes off at the front door. The service was performed as expected, there was no smell in the house, and I expect that the ants have decided to find a new home to occupy.

They are very responsive they come back quarterly. They come back and replace the blocks when they need to be, the same guy comes back. They call to remind when they to do a head and reservice the house. But what I really do like about the company is that the traps that they use my kids can't get into.

Multi-tiered pest control program was more costly than competitor: annual fee of $195 + $95 quarterly fee. This covers pests including ants, spiders and crickets as well as rodents, but does not include wasps. A-1 power sprays for wasps at an additional cost of at least $195 (I believe that was net of a 15% annual program subscriber).

They are on time and I have never had to have them come back, whatever they do works the first time.

They were on time to do the job. The quality of their work was good. Their responsivness was good in returning my phone calls. I would use them in the future.

Very prompt and consistent when checking the traps. Also, knowledgeable about small animals.

The service tech seemed nice and quite knowledgeable. We've only had two appointments so far but they were on time for both. Very efficient. The first time he came out he did not remove his shoes. When he came back the second time I requested he put on booties. He took his shoes off before entering our home which I appreciated.

I had seen what carpenter bees can do to a swing set, so as soon as I saw that we had a hole with bees flying in and out, I checked Angie's List and called A1. They came out quickly and filled the bee hole with some kind of foam that kills the bees inside and seals the hole. They guaranteed the work, but we never had a problem after the first treatment, so I didn't need to call them back. The whole process was quick and easy. Scheduling was easy. The technician was on time. He worked quickly and neatly. Overall a great experience.

The exterminator came out within two weeks of speaking with Lucy about the rodent and insect problems we had been having. The gentleman set traps in our kitchen, basement and attic crawl spaces for the mice. He sprayed the entire perimeter of the house and inside as well. He also sprayed into the eaves of the porch where we'd discovered a nest of wasps. The smell that I was worried about dissipated after about 20 minutes. He came back for a checkup about two weeks later and found no evidence of mice in the kitchen or basement, but said that they had been coming into the attic and eating the traps up there. We have not seen evidence of them since they set the traps for the second time. The wasps were dead the next day and we haven't seen them either. I also mentioned that we found a chipmunk burrow in the front yard and they placed poison there as well with no charge. I'm please that the company offers a quarterly plan instead of monthly.

Everything went just great with the maintenance. I now have a maintenance program with them and they come out here as often as I need them. I pay them a fair rate on a quarterly basis to continue the service. They are very accommodating and very knowledgeable. The technician is very good and very nice to my dog, which means a lot to me.

I called him & he was able to give me information which solved my problem without having to come out. I was very grateful that he was able to save money. He was very helpful. I spoke with the secretary first with the company & then called me back later. The secretary was just as professional as the (service)man I spoke with.

I called on Tuesday, left a message, and received a call-back within 5 minutes. The appointment was made for Wednesday noon -- a specific time, not a two-hour window. At 11am Wednesday, the technician called to say he was ahead of schedule and that he could come to my house earlier if I would like. I said yes; he arrived minutes later. We walked around the house so I could show him where I had seen wasps climbing into the eave on a one-story part of my house. He pointed out two other areas where wasps were entering -- one above a bay window, another at the attic above the second story. He also spotted some exterior nests I had missed. He treated all of the entry points with dust which the wasps would carry throughout the nest, to kill the entire population. He also treated and removed the external nests. He worked quickly, and took care when placing his ladder to avoid damaging the plants around our house. I'd use A-1 again if the need arose.

It was easy to make the appointment and Steve came even earlier, than arranged. He knew exactly where the problem was without even telling him. He let me know that he would also, take care of the trees. He explained the toxicity of the sprays, he was using and was very knowledgeable. Overall, a very good company.

When Rob was finished, I went to the front of the house to see a grey screen with large grey washers on the outside of the vent. I told him, I thought he was putting the screen on the inside. I asked if there was a brass screen. He said, that it would be too much money. I expressed that it was my decision, what was too much. I explained we should have discussed options. I called Lucy at the office to express my disappointment. Lucy said, that she would be happy to make an appt. to have Rob paint the vent, as long as I provided the paint & brush. I agreed. He later painted the vent. He asked that I sign, to show that he "was there." I signed. I then noticed that the bottom showed a charge for $120. I confirmed that it was the same $120 charge to remove the nest & create the screen. He said that it costs $140 to use a ladder, but he gave me $20.00 off. Lucy never said that there would be a charge to paint the little two foot vent. Professional painters would have been less expensive.

They called in the morning to confirm the appointment and were on time. The treatment was explained well and, with a quarterly plan, guaranteed.

I set up a meeting with a national well-known company because that was the only name off the top of my head, and I was in a panic. But the next day I subscribed to Angie's List and switched to A-1 because of the high recommendations. He was on time, even early and waiting for me. The ants are gone and the mouse population is harder to track, but seems to be diminishing (a 100 year old basement has many ports of entry). The education was invaluable (did you know that carpenter ants can actually do as much damage as termites?) and the service was perfection (right balance of efficiency and friendliness).

They did a great job, we noticed an improvement immediately. Their service guy was fast and courteous. Competitive prices. Lucy knows her stuff, but she gets pretty scary with her descriptions of the diseases, germs, etc. carried by these pests.

Great Experience! Technician was in and out, nice, easy to work with. He was very aware of me having a dog and setting things up to limit any problems with the chemicals she might have. Don't hesitate to use them!!!!

Rob, the exterminator, was very prompt and worked quickly to get the poison into the gap where the bees were. He was very knowledgable and told us what to expect for how long it would take for the bees to die and when we should caulk the gap closed. The information he gave us was very important because both my wife and I are allergic.

Positive. Lucy is the point person and is very informed. She can both give the options available to a customer as well as talk through the pros and cons of a program. The programs are a little complicated - could be simplified. Would recommend this company.

They came as soon as they could (Monday, after we called Friday) and took care of all the wasp nests.

Always on-time and very professional. Their work is consistant and effective. I have recommended them to many neighbors and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.

Rob Cameron was professional, detail-oriented, and on time. His knowledge of wasps, bumble bees, and ants was very impressive and helpful. Warranties on nest sites were given until the end of the season.
