Both Mark and Dave were professional and knowledgeable, key traits when someone is dealing with a problem like mine. They were both also very nice to do business with. I am so glad I quit trying to deal with the problem myself and called Quick Kill. It's nice to be able to count on such great people who really know what they are doing when the need arises. I would recommend them to anyone!
Description of Work: When I called, Mark answered the phone. I told him that I had seen some weird little bugs in my bathroom and had tried everything to get rid of them. After explaining what they looked like, he knew immediately what they were and said he could have a technician to my condo within fifteen minutes, and he was right! Dave arrived, I showed him where I had seen the culprits, and in no time, he had treated the area. Dave also told me to call if there was a problem and he would come back at no charge.

The service was good. They were very quick in their execution of the work. My only concern was that they informed me that there were areas a plumber would need to seal and left marks for us to follow. However, myself nor my husband were able to locate these advised marks.

he checked out the area that I told him was problematic, then got into the crawlspace to further evaluate, which was, i'm sure, not a fun thing to do since the opening is very small, also went up into the attic to see if that was an issue. he then put out bait in all areas as well as packing steel wool into the areas in the crawl space where mice could be getting into the house. he also gave me recommendations for structural things I could have done in the future to further alleviate the problem. he came back in a week to see if the problem had been eradicated (it had).

So we had some carpenter ants, and we absolutely panicked. We had no idea how common they were or what it would take to get rid of them. It runs out that Quick Kill knew exactly what to do! They came out in August and did a few things: they sprayed the perimeter of the home, they sprayed inside the home, and they drilled small holes in the baseboard of the perimeter of the home and filled the walls with a special carpenter ant killer powder. In the weeks after they left it was alarming how many dead ants turned up on the floor of the kitchen! After about three weeks, I saw two ants live and crawling around the kitchen-- bold as brass! So I called Quick Kill and they came out to do a follow-up the very next morning. They sprayed in the walls again no charge, and they even sprayed a wasp's nest outside free of charge. Although my husband and I opted not to take advantage of their quarterly protection plan ( we are new home-owners and trying to keep costs down!), I would definitely go back to quick kill if I needed their services in the future!

I purchased a deal on Angie's list. I set up a time for the service and they tried to accommodate with my schedule. And I had to cancel the appointment and reschedule a few times. The lady who did scheduling was very friendly and helpful every time I had to reschedule. It was raining on the day of service, the guy came on time, explained to me what it will be done, and answered my questions and concerns. I would use their service again.

Andrew arrived and asked about the problem I was having and the insects I was experiencing in my residence. He explained to me that this time of year a variety of insects and spiders will find there way into the house seeking warmth. Andrew related what I was seeing was normal and that it did not appear to that I had a problem to be concerned about with the bugs. He said from year to year there will be different insects that seem to be more noticeable than other years. He offered suggestions in regards to removing mulch from the front of residence to help cut down on some of the insects. Andrew was very professional, courteous and helpful. I will certainly use the company and their services again. Thanks Quick Kill!

A successful visit (actually two). First visit was to check the perimeter, attic and basement, and places where I had reported crickets and one mouse dead in a cricket trap I'd already set; then Mark laid more gluetraps and treated the exterior. I haven't seen a cricket since, alive or dead, which is good because last year we had a real infestation. One mouse decided to die in a basement glue trap but we have seen no further furry invaders. Mark did a one-week follow-up visit, reported clean traps in the basement and a lot of dead crickets in a crawlspace under the porch. Hoping that we had the service in time to prevent critters moving in when it gets colder. So far so good.

Very nice people who always do a great job. Mark came out to do the house drench and it got rid of our late-season wasps. When I called a few weeks later because of a fruit fly infestation, I intended to schedule a visit, but Mark gave me advice about what to do over the phone and said the problem would likely die out itself. We really appreciate all of Quick Kill's help -- from coming out when needed to being so honest and caring to let us know when a visit is not needed. Will definitely call them for any issues in the future. Highly recommended.

Jon was awesome. He was very professional and knew his stuff. He explained what he was going to do and where he was going to set traps and place the baits. He was aware that we had a dog so he made sure that he placed the bait high enough so the dog cannot get at it. He is scheduled to do a follow up in the next 10 days to make sure everything is okay. He also identified and explained how the maintenance that is needed on the house would help decrease the spiders and ants. I was very impressed that he looked at all the crack, crevices and areas around the house to make sure the mice were not able to get in. i have been with a big name company for the last few months. I called them about my rodent problem and they only placed some traps in the kitchen. I was so surprised that they did not bother to look in the basement, attic or outside. I am definitely going to terminate my contract with them and go with Quick Kill.

I called and had a nice conversation with the office manager regarding our issue with insects in and around our home. She walked me through the process and was honest about the success rate with spraying. She was responsive to setting up an appointment to have our home sprayed right away. Jon was extremely professional and detailed in the explanation of services. He took extra care around our child?s room and the area in the attic above that room. He also thoroughly sprayed the problems areas outside our home. He put my mind at ease and I already feel better for having the property sprayed.
Description of Work: We had our interior and exterior sprayed for insects. The application was applied thoroughly especially in our problem areas and small traps were set as well.

It went well, but could have gone even better. They are very, very nice people. They responded promptly and were very professional. However, at least for me, their services did not go far enough. I've lived almost 20 years in this house and never saw any evidence of mice until a couple of weeks ago, when I saw an actual mouse pop out from under my baseboard heater. I freaked! Of course, I knew that you could buy a trap, but had recently read a novel describing the nauseating mess these traps made. Using poison sounded just as disgusting. So, I visited Angie's list and saw this company was (1) near my home, and (2) had scored almost 200 A's. I had no idea what they could do for me, but hoped, at least, they would spare me the sight of mutilated mice in traps. On that, they scored 100%. Their traps were inconspicuous, fully lidded triangular boxes, concealing a blood thinner bait. The apex was sealed shut, but there were small openings on the other two sides permitting the mouse to tunnel inside, nibble the bait, get very thirsty, and then run outside of the house for a drink. After that, they would die outside, of thirst. How comparatively genteel! I was thrilled. I was also thrilled because they were able to send someone the day I called. What a relief! He then inspected the house and told me: (1) He saw a few mouse pellets under the sink. I asked how I should clean it. He said to use bleach, and he put a trap there. (2) The dryer vent and an air-conditioning line contained openings through which mice could slip. He stuffed them with steel wool and told me to caulk them. (3) The garage weather stripping had openings and part of it should be replaced. (4) Some trees near my roof should be pruned so that mice couldn't use them as ladders. If the roof had any holes, he said, they might "drop in" from there. 5) He saw some limited evidence of mice in the crawl space - he put traps there, and one in the dining room as well, where I had first seen the mouse. 6) He would come back next week and inspect the attic, after I cleared items blocking the entrance. (And he did this.) 7) Eyeballing the roof from ground level, he thought there was one place that might have a mouse-friendly opening, but he was not sure. This was under the main-floor roof in the back of the house. Relieved that the mice had evidently not made major inroads, I set my (not-very-handy) husband to work caulking the dryer vent and air conditioning line. I thought the problem would be solved. BUT: Later that week, just by coincidence, a girlfriend suggested we move around my living room furniture. My living room is large. It has baseboard heating. In front of the heater is a large, L-shaped modular sofa. When we moved the sofa, I SCREAMED. There was huge collection of mouse droppings all along the baseboard heaters. The mouse poop had even worked its way into the fringe of an 8 X11 area rug. My girlfriend, fortunately, knew what to do to clean it up safely. Then she told me, "Of COURSE there are droppings there! The mice gravitate to the warm baseboard heaters in the cold weather! I sure wish the exterminator had mentioned that! I confronted the technician when he returned. In the interim, I had investigated some other firms that promote mice removal as a specialty. I saw that they offered services that Quick-Kill did not. The competing firm provided all the carpentry, and also provided disinfection services. Anyway, the Quick-Kill technician (a delightful young man) said that there is rarely if ever only ONE mouse; by the time you see a mouse in your home, they've probably been all over the house. As I thought about that I began to wonder: Could mice have been in my bedroom upstairs (which also has baseboard heating, as well as an almost impossible-to-move bed over black carpeting, making any mouse evidence hard to detect). Could they have been in my son's bedroom? I tried not to panic. At least, I thought, there was no evidence of their presence in our kitchen cabinets -- although the Quick-Kill technician said that they had almost certainly been beneath the dishwasher and under the refrigerator. Then he left. Although I had seen no signs of mice in my kitchen cabinets, I decided to take everything out of them, and, to my horror, found copious droppings way in the back. I was surprised because I had scrubbed everything down last April and hadn't seen anything like this. I had the creeps. The thought of mice in my room kept me up nights. So I decided to call the full-service mouse remover whose name I found on the Internet. What a difference! First, they inspected -- and I mean, REALLY inspected. As a result, I learned that I could sleep easily-- there had been no mice in the bedrooms . They tested Quick-Kill's traps by placing Cheerios in several vulnerable areas. Two days later, the Cheerios were untouched by mice. So then we knew that Quik-Kill's traps had worked, and no more traps needed to be set. So Quick-Kill had done a good job with the traps and the competitor did not need to set traps of their own. However, when they went outside, the competing firm found two huge openings under the roof in front of the house on the second story. Mice were living there. Also some birds. Quick-Kill, in contrast, had mentioned nothing about the roof in front of the house. They had thought that there might be a tiny hole in a roof juncture in on the main floor of the house's opposite end. They couldn't really tell because they didn't use a ladder. They were eyeballing it from the ground. The competing exterminators, climbed a great big ladder. They told me that the ground floor area Quick-Kill had noted was just fine. BUT when they got up on the ladder again, this time in the front of the house on the second story, they found those two large openings, and they were filled with nesting materials. So, the competitor's carpenters blew the bad stuff out, and filled the openings with some kind of impenetrable foam. Then they patched the openings up and sealed them with galvanized steel, creating an impenetrable mouse barrier. The competitors also ripped out the steel wool Quick-Kill had stuffed in the dryer vent and air-conditioning line. They explained that, over time, mice can nibble away at the steel wool fibers bit by bit. Where the steel wool had been, they installed galvanized steel. Going one step further, they caulked elegantly over these two areas. (My husband had caulked over the steel wool at Quik-Kill's suggestion; What a mess he made! He's just not very handy!) Quick-kill had suggested that we fix portions of the weather-stripping in our garage. Their competitor went one better. They replaced the entire weather strip and sealed off the sides with siding. Then the competitor got rid of the mouse droppings with a HEPA vacuum cleaner (including behind the refrigerator and under the dishwasher). Then they disinfected everything with a hospital-grade disinfectant. So in my view, the competitor finished the job that Quick-Kill only started. Quick-Kill does politely offer service contracts, and I probably would have needed one had I not brought in the competitors. Since Quick-Kill missed some key nesting places, I think that the mouse-ending potential of the traps would last only as long as the bait in them lasted. Then, unless I had Quick-Kill back to set more traps, the mice living in the roof most likely would come back. One last thing about Quick-Kill -- I would definitely consider using them again -- but not for mice.
Description of Work: Inspected for mice; found a few pellets under the kitchen sink; laid traps baited with blood thinner; identified sources of infestation; plugged two of these sources with steel wool and suggested we caulk there; recommended that trees be pruned and portions of garage door weather stripping be replaced. Eyeballed roof from the ground and saw one place where there might be a mouse-friendly opening. This was in back of the house on the first floor under the roof. A subsequent provider on a ladder found no problem there, but discovered large openings on the second story of the house under the roof which had mice and birds living there. This area was missed by Quick-Kill, possibly because their inspection was made without the use of a ladder.
