We have had Chuck do various jobs for us in the past and were very pleased. Unfortunately this time was quite different. He didn't want to set a time to come to give an estimate. I don't accept drop ins, and when I tried to set an estimate time he agreed, but showed up early. We set a date to do the job, then called back a few days later to see if he could post pone the job to another date. I agreed. When he came & I opened the door he flung his cigarette out in the yard & blew smoke in my face as I let him in. He replaced the new facet first downstairs,before he started to tear up the bathroom floor upstairs. When I checked on the facet, I asked him where the crystal knob was & why it wasn't put on. That is why I brought the facet,since it had a very pretty handle. He replied" it's in the truck, I'll go get it". He came back took the smooth metal handle off and put on the crystal handle. When I checked it, it looked much nicer, and then I asked where was the handle he just took off. He replied,"it's in the truck,I'll go get it." He then brought it back & left it. The facet worked very well, no problems. He then proceeded to work on the floor that needed to be replaced upstairs. When he got down to the boards that were all black & moldy, he was going to leave it, and just cover the floor with a new boards. I had to argue with him to tear up the floor that was bad & replace it. If the floor hadn't been water damaged we wouldn't have to have a new floor put in the first place. After 4 days the new bathroom floor was replaced. All the new boards were cut extremely well and fit snuggly. The new vinyl floor was installed and looked very good. The actual work was very well done. All the debris was cleaned up, and vacuumed. When I looked in the closet of the bathroom with the new install floor, it had black marks smears. Behind the toilet was urine on the new floor. The new flooring was white. And we didn't get a 10% senior citizen discount. I've waited 3 wks. to comment,but I still upset by the way things went. If I wasn't there to supervise, I am not sure things would have been done the way they should have been done. We have been very pleased in the past with Chuck's work,but this time, was not so easy going.
