I met the owner of the Company, Dominic for a quote on concrete work on and blacktop work. We were at the property for an hour. He told me I would have a quote in a couple of days. A week later, I called and asked for the quote. I was told they would look into it and get back to me. About a week later, I called again. They said the quote was prepared but they would need to look into why it wasn't sent out and send it to me. Two weeks after that I called again for the quote, I was told that it was done and it was being sent out. A week later I called again, and this time spoke to the owner. He apologized and said he never prepared the quote but that he would do so that night before he went home. He never sent anything. Just to be clear, the other quotes I received were between $30,000 to $40,000 for this work, so it was not insignificant work.

Dominic La Mantia was great to work with. We called for an estimate in March while there was still snow on the ground. The week that the snow finally melted he and his nephew came by to measure up the job so he could provide an estimate. After accepting his bid we were invited to the La Mantia offices to discuss the project. Dominic spent about 45 minutes explaining the process of the construction. We looked at several samples of actual stamped concrete sidewalk leading up to their front door. This really helped my wife and I visualize what we wanted for our patio. Originally we thought a stamped brick pattern was what we wanted, but we went with a natural stone texture after seeing these samples. The concrete for the patio was colored and it was a two step process where they put a dye in the concrete that is one color and then highlight it with a releasing agent. Dominic suggested we make a trip to Aurora to the material supplier of the product they used because they had dozens and dozens of samples using the various color combinations. We did this one day and took pictures with our phones. Dominic suggested we do this and hold the pics up to our house to see how the patio would look next to the house. Good recommendation because the color that we liked at the suppliers yard was not the one eventually chose. We told Dominic we needed the patio ready for use by June 7 because we were planning a graduation party. He said meeting that date would be no problem. Once the weather allowed work to proceed La Mantia called us to schedule the work. Work was cancelled the first planned day due to rain and the work was rescheduled. They showed up as promised and did all the demolition and framing of the concrete on the first day with a crew of 4 guys. The second day they poured all the concrete, everything with a crew of about 8 or 9 guys! The last day they came out to saw cut the patio, backfill the edges with topsoil , seal the patio and clean up. All the work done in three days including the clean up. We were extremely pleased. The crew was courteous, hard working and professional. I got two other estimates for this work and one was about the same as La Mantia and the other was quite a bit higher. We went with La Mantia because of the numerous positive responses on Angie's list and because Dominic was very helpful right from the start. We will probably need to replace our driveway in the next few years and will definitely look to them as a first choice. They also do landscaping so we would also make them a first choice for that type of work too. We are very pleased.

La Mantia Enterprises did an excellent job on a rather large outdoor renovation job! While many of the landscaping and outdoor renovation companies in the Downers Grove area shyied away from the job La Mantia Enterprises took it on from Day 1. Dominic LaMantia came in with expertise and knowledge of how to strategically tackle this job and provided me a very detailed and accurate estimate from the start. Dominic also did an excellent job at keeping me updated on every phase of the project and communicated with me frequently when decisions needed to be made or just to give me a quick morning status on what they were planning on doing for the day. He would either communicate with me through e-mail, text or his perferred old fashioned way of calling you to talk, very refreshing in this day of Facebook/Twitter! Dominic also did an excellent job at making adjustments as unexpected items came up to the point where he issued me credits when work was not needed or fixed things that he found. A nice surpise was that Dominic was able to fix a chronic basement leaking issue I had when he found and fixed three cracks in the foundation. For any of you outdoor needs I would highly recommend La Mantia enterprises!

This is the second time I used La Mantia Enterprises and the second time around was just as good as the first. Dominic LaMantia and his team worked swiftly despite all of the weather challenges. He balanced the need to get the job done quickly but never ever sacrificed quality. There was never a delay in the project because of Dominic or his team and any slow down in the schedule was due to Mother Nature. Dominic worked extra hard to catch up. La Mantia Enterprises is a company I will continue to go to for all of my outdoor projects as they strive for high quality and on time delivery of their projects.

Dominic came to the construction site and met us to ensure all instructions for pouring the new driveway were clear. LaMantia did a perfect job. They even ensured that the driveway met village code around a tree and worked with a manhole cover so that as we drive over it, the driveway is perfectly level. It was a great job.

Dom was out in just a couple of hours after making call for estimate. Dom walked though the estimate with my wife and I. He made relivent sugestions that were very helpful with our decision making for the work being done. They got the paperwork from the village that I needed. All work was done in a timely fashion and worked around the weather well. Workers were courtious and they cleaned up everyday. They also never caused any problems within my neighborhood to cause any complaints.I was always notified by phone or in person of anything I needed to know about the job. I will be calling in the spring for landscaping and other work.

They haven't started yet, we just got the permit yesterday. First of all they had a really good reputation and we thought it was a very fair estimate. We liked the way they were going to be doing everything.

They gave us the quote very promptly but we decided not to tackle that project this year. The process for the quote was very quick, I talked to someone on the phone and they were out maybe within a day or two and left me a quote that I thought was very reasonable. And if we would have done the project we would have gone with them.

They worked very close with us during the project and was creative and flexible when issues arose. It was excellent service after the project was complete. They even replaced a few trees that did not thrive. LaMantia inspected it themselves and remedied the situation.

We were extremely pleased with LaMantia from start to finish. The owners are responsive, experienced and professional. Our patio project began and finished on time with no hiccups in timing, inspection or materials. The entire crew was pleasant and professional. Highly recommend.

Even in the great blizzard we had 2 years ago, when we were only a client for one year, our driveways was one of the only ones on the block cleared by early afternoon, unless you spent hours of your own time doing it.

I've used La Mantia for concrete work for over twenty years. They have always done an excellent job at a very reasonable price.

I found them to be very professional. They were very helpful with the redesign of my driveway and they were good with balancing what I wanted with what would look good. The foreman was here on the job the whole time and I have been very pleased with the results! I haven’t had any problems with concrete! They are a little pricier, but it was worth it for the quality and customer service! They were here when they said they would be here. Also, they came back and fixed the issue with the joint material immediately.

Their services were very good. They were prompt and they finished the job as scheduled. I cannot say anything negative about them. They are very cooperative and I even changed a little bit of the design, and they were very business-like and followed up to make sure everything was going as planned.

They’re fine; a good company and they really did a great job! I was having some crawl space problems, but they were able to fix it and they were very neat and clean.

Their service was very good! They were very fast and got it done in one day. They were very informative on what they were going to do and checked in every so often after the job was completed.

I thought the service was good. They could not guarantee that the concrete would not crack, and in less than a year, it ended up cracking. It’s hard to tell what the cause was for the cracking. Everything else was fine (they came when they said and they were clean). They also did the design for patio and came back and put the fence back.

I've used LaMantia for concrete work on numerous occasions. LaMantia formed my custom design perfectly and they even added PVC runs so I could run electrical in the future. Before they poured the concrete, they verified the forms and made a few minor adjustments. The surface is pitched so there is no pooling or water runoff issues. The color mix was perfect. All in all, I was very pleased with the outcome and have received many compliments on the final product.

We had been giving them our business for at least 20 years! They refused to remedy the driveway without our paying for half of the cost which is about $1200 altogether. We no longer use their business.

They came and snowplowed as our contract states: at their convenience. There are other businesses close to us that they also snowplow; thus, we have requested that they snowplow our driveway and parking lot at the same time they are snowplowing theirs. Just makes good business sense. We are very satisfied with their service.
