Once I discovered how many tiles had significant blemishes (over 1/4 of the total tiles) I called the Tile Outlet and spoke with a manager named Frank. I told him my issue: that many of the individual tiles had orange blemishes. He asked me if the boxes had been opened. I told him that the boxes had been opened and some of them had begun to be installed. He said there was nothing that he could do about the tiles that had already been installed but that I should put all the other damaged tiles back into the boxes and bring them back to the Tile Outlet and he would exchange them. I packed the damaged tiles into my car. I called again to confirm that I was on my way. When I arrived, I was told that Frank had left for the day. However, he had warned his staff that if I arrived with individual tiles that had problems with the color, that they should refuse to exchange them. This despite the fact that this was precisely the issue I had described to Frank over the phone and that he had agreed over the phone he would be willing to let me exchange. They condescendingly told me that slate tile naturally has significant variations in color. I replied that I understood that but that felt that these tiles had significant blemishes that were much more than natural variation in color. Nonetheless, they refused to even look at the tiles to see my issue with them. I ended up purchasing more tile (much of which was similarly damaged) and was able to tile my floor with mostly unblemished tile. I asked for a discount on the additional tile and was refused. I asked Roberto, the employee I spoke with to ask Frank to call me. He said he would be sure to get Frank the message the next day. I never heard from Frank. The Tile Outlet is clearly happy to sell its customers damaged tiles that do not resemble the samples they display. They also have the worst customer service that I can remember in any industry. I will go out of my way to make sure that friends purchase their tile from other vendors. I could not have been more unhappy with my experience.

I was looking for white glass tile, and I went to 4 places, you see, white glass can have a green or gray cast. Tile outlet was the only place where the tile appeared to be the whitest, and it was in stock, which was what I needed, it was $12 a square foot (Century Tile was cheaper, but there tile was more gray, $10 sq ft) and Floor & Decor was more green, about $11 a sq ft. but they are out of stock for over 3 months, so that was no help). I knew to inspect the tiles, because Tile Outlet tends to have some bad tiles. I opened & went through 2 boxes, just to get 5 good tiles. I was STOPPED & told that I could not go through the tiles before I purchased them. The way that the man spoke to me, I felt like I was being accused of some horrible crime! I had no choice, but to buy the tile un-inspected as my tile guy was coming the next day (which was my fault, in other words, I should have allowed months to purchase the perfect tile from a reputable company). I went through the tiles inside my car, before leaving and exchanged more tiles, and then back again the next day, & was disgusted, because all of the tiles had the same issue. I never want to deal with a company that is so hostile to its customers. If they had better quality control, I wouldn't need to be checking all of the tiles for damage/issues. Shame, because if their attitude was better, all would have been okay. word of warning, if you are buying tile, make sure you inspect them, before anyone installs them, or you may be really upset. They offer NO RETURNS, so if you over buy, to be safe for your job, you will keep it.

Happy with the tiles. The service is sketchy.

We like the variety of selection. We liked their price. They were excellent. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. We rented a truck because it was 500 square feet of granite. We showed up on a Saturday and they told us they didn?t have it there and it was at the warehouse. They told us that the warehouse was closed on Saturday. They found someone that was able to go open up the warehouse and pick it up and bring it over for us. I though that was excellent service. The granite is a very high quality.

The sales staff is very knowledgable and friendly. It didn't hurt that the two massive "guard dogs" are very loveable!

They were very helpful in helping us, and their prices for glass tile were great. They even recommend the right grout color for the job.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I would never shop here again. They are rude and unprofessional.

This place is one you should check out if you are redoing a bathroom or kitchen. They have a lot of selection and are very knowledgeable out tile.
