The Floor Show

They were great. The gentle man who put my carpet in was very good, he did a great job. Jim helped me pick out the color.

It turned out very good. The owner was very good. They were very competitively priced.

This is my 3rd time working with the Floor Show. Jim is the owner and he handled the job personally. He is a knowledgable, straight up kind of guy. Not up-sale or pushy sales. He came to my house with the samples and installed a few days later. I'm a landlord and have purchased lots of carpet so I know his price was right in line with any discount retailer and it included a good pad and installation. I am very happy with the carpet and the service i received.

Jim was great to work with--very professional and flexible in meeting our schedule. His selection of carpet is obviously not as large as a big box carpet store, but he had many samples and made repeated visits to our home to show us more samples as we were making our decision. We are very pleased with the result and would use the Floor Show again in the future.

We were looking to put new tile in basement with an area rug. Also looking to stain wood floors on first and second level. Used the team there to do all the work (very comprehensive set of products and services, with lots of expertise). Job was completed on time and on budget, despite the house being in worse shape than originally anticipated (floor very uneven in the basement).

They were professional from start to finish. We had spoken to many contractors, but when Jim(the owner) came to give us the in home estimate we were very impressed and got the feeling that this guy know what he is doing. He agreed to estimate the work without knowing the kind of tile we were going to use. We also had a specific timeline we needed to complete the project so that our lives with three small kids would not be too disrupted. Their estimate came back within our budget and they were able to commit to our timeframe which was only a few weeks out. Erin at the showroom was most helpful in picking the right tile and they were able to procure it before installation. The installation went pretty well except for a few hiccups that were beyond Jim's control. It turns out that the previous installer had not done the correct way and that is why we saw cracks and defects in our old floor. Because if this extra work it required Jim and his team to need more time and labor. He did need to charge us more for the labor, but it was well below 10% of the original estimate so it seemed more than fair. So it took an extra day or two, but we survived. The floor is absolutely gorgeous and we were very happy with his work. We will most likely be using them for window treatments sometime in the near future. My wife and I would highly recommend them for others to use.

I arranged to have The Floor Show come out to examine my engineered flooring, explain any options I might have for repair of the floors and ultimately to provide an estimate for the agreed upon solution. I took off work early to meet the representative and was waiting at home for a visit that never came. As it turned out, I had received a voicemail on my cell phone informing me that they would need to reschedule my appointment due to an issue with one of their projects. Putting the inconvenience aside, I understand that things come up, so I rescheduled the appointment and tried it again. When we were able to get together for the appointment, it turned out to be James Patsey, the President of the company that came out. Jim was knowledgable, professional and personable. I told him what other contractors had already proposed and he gave me his opinion, agreeing with the previously proposed solution as the most appropriate. Jim took measurements and told me to expect an estimate within a week, right after he had finished a long overdue long weekend vacation. I waited patiently for the estimate, until I finally decided to call Jim back almost one month later. I had begun to assume that the lack of response was because maybe they were not interested in bidding, but Jim told me he would get me the estimate within the week. On October 14th I received the estimate, but with no mention of room measurements or any other detail of the work proposed. As it turned out, the estimate was less than half of the bid I ultimately accepted, which instead of seeming like a great deal, made me feel that Jim had forgotten our details, including measurements and as a result had understimated the work. That, combined with the rest of the estimate experience left me with more concerns than confidence about how the project might go were I to choose The Floor Show. I can't remark on the quality of the work that they do, but I decided to use another vendor even though the estimate was low.

Worked was well done, on time, and within the quoted range. Jim's like a project manager, addressing all flooring issues. I would recommend him.

The work done by the Floor Show went very well. There were some delays due to the work of other contractors and they readily adjusted their schedule. When it was possible for them to return, there was no significant delay.

The experience of getting the estimate went very well. The guy was on time and provided a quote quickly.

Everything was very enjoyable. The price was the most competitive we could find in Chicago. Jim was very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend.

I purchased a condo that has a 'great-room' type of setup, where the kitchen, dining room, and living room are essentially one room. Previous owners had put carpet in the living room area, ceramic tile in the kitchen area, and poor quality parquet flooring in the entry way. Jim came out to give me an estimate on the cost of cork floors, and brought a few samples. He was going to provide an estimate the following day. When I didn't hear from him for a couple of days, I contacted him, and he explained that the sample I had selected was no longer being produced, so he was looking for another source that had similar floors. Working with Jim and Erin, we were able to select flooring from a new supplier fairly easily. It took two days to do pull out the old floors and baseboards, and put in the new flooring (I chose to do the baseboards myself), and they did an excellent job, no mess, took all the old flooring with them. It turned out beautifully!

It went great, the estimate was reasonable and James was professional and courteous. I wound up going with another company, but that does not diminish the great experience I had with The Floor Show.

The owner was good to work with, responded quickly and brought floor samples over. It was great. I would consider them again, but not necessarily 100% use them.

It was a very good experience. They provided the most competitive pricing, beating four other bidders by 15% - 35%. Jim and Joe provided outstanding customer service; they clearly want their customers to be happy. The installation, while not perfect, is something I am happy with. I would recommend them and hire them again.

OVERALL IT WENT VERY WELL. THEY WERE TIMELY FROM START TO FINISH AND RESPONDED TO CONCERNS THAT WERE RAISED DURING THE PROJECT AND OFFERED SOLUTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS TO PROBLEMS RAISED.

Jim was great to work with. Very professional and courteous. He got the job done quickly and his workman left the place clean.

Jim met with us to discuss the job. He knew his stuff and answered all of our questions. His crew came to do the work the following week. They showed up on time, masterfully installed the carpet, cleaned thoroughly. We couldn't be more pleased. No extras. No surprises.
