Sir Grout Chicago

I scheduled this three weeks in advance. When it came time to have the crew of two promised workers do my shower, I got a call from ONE guy that said he would be two hours late and that he was alone. I mentioned to him that Joe (the sales guy) said it would take two guys all day to do this job. Nonetheless he said he would be there in two hours. Three hours later I got a call from him saying he was lost and he blamed his GPS. Finally, three and a half hours late, he shows up?takes one look at the job and tells me it's a two man job that will take until 10 at night. DUH. So I called the main office and they wanted to reschedule. Now I was in a bind, so I reluctantly rescheduled. So four days later they showed up and for the most part did the job as promised before?EXCEPT when the job was completed they had left a grout mess all over two twelve inch tiles. By the time we noticed, they had already left, so we are now waiting to hear back from them to HOPEFULLY rectify the situation. If they fix it, I will amend this critique to reflect their attention to fixing their mistake and grade them higher. Certainly I appreciate that sometimes things do not go according to plan, but in this case, this was pretty much a disaster.

I scheduled an estimate for a Friday. They called the Wednesday prior, to reschedule because their rep couldn't come out because he was in the middle of moving his home. OK, so we rescheduled for the following Friday. Well, that next Tuesday they called and asked to reschedule again, due to a scheduling glitch. I'm pretty easy going and might have just gone ahead and rescheduled for a 3rd time, but at this point, I didn't have much confidence in them. I do appreciate them letting me know ahead of time they couldn't make the appointment but I am disappointed they couldn't keep their appointments with me. So, I called and told them to just forget it. I will have to find another provider.

This was a new project for me and I had no idea how much it would cost. My grout was discolored from years of hard water, and I had started to lose the battle with mold and mildew around the tub. I got three estimates, and Sir Grout had the best price and reputation for the job. I had an in-home consultation and got a written estimate on the spot. Once I picked Sir Grout, the work was scheduled and completed quickly. The repairing and patching necessary was extensive, so I pretty much got all new grout in the shower and they cleaned and re-caulked the rest of the bathroom. They finished the whole project in about 4 hours, with very little mess. Probably the best part, other than a clean and sanitary shower, is they gave me some sealant and instructions on how to keep it looking great. Following their tips, the caulk and grout still looks as good as the day they finished the job more that a year later! To my surprise, they contacted me recently to see how their work was holding up. They do a top notch job and provide excellent customer service. I highly recommend Sir Grout!

The work was fantastic, start to finish. We cook extensively, and messily, and the backsplash looked pretty bad. We did not think it could be repaired and still look good, but we wanted to believe the before-and-after pictures on the sirgrout.com web site. Dan did not have a white/ivory that matched our grout, but he was able to create a custom color match. He spent a good amount of time with me to get just the right blend, and he had patience and a smile throughout, even though it was a fixed price bid (which might have incented him to rush me, which he did not). He also gave me some of the leftover materials, for touch up. The kitchen bathroom caulk was also repaired and similarly looks like new. We initially received a comprehensive quote for several rooms in our house, and we decided to skip some of the other rooms because we thought the price was too high. I almost marked the price as a "B" in this review. Although I believe the price was a bit high based on pure math with labor hours and materials, the value we received was much higher than the price we paid. (So keep that in mind if you are looking at a similarly high estimate.) The backsplash looks like brand new, and it is gorgeous. We are now considering doing one or two other projects in the house with Dan and Sir Grout. Dan and his assistant were true professionals, and it was a pleasure doing business with them.

Overall very happy with work. This is the second time using Sir Grout and on both occasions we received very good customer service. Work was completed as promised and they seemed to want the customer to be completely happy with work.

The worker did meticulous work. I didn't mind the extra time it took because he was doing the job like he was doing it for his own house. The final product was outstanding. I would definitely recommend Sir Grout to anyone needing tile grout work.

Since they never followed through with the appointment we will never know.

They finished the job in one day. They didn't waste any time. Asked me questions when needed. Kept any construction debris to a minimum and picked up after themselves. The bathrooms were left clean. They had me walk around and check the areas before they left to make sure I was satisfied. This was one of the best companies I've ever worked with.

The workers that came here were great. They were very respectful and hard working. My tile and grout had gotten cracked and brown looking. So I called Sir Grout and they came out within a few days and gave me a few options. They gave a detailed estimate of the planned work. When they came in, the process was very quick, clean and easy. I feel the price was very fair, the work was excellent, and I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

It went great! I scheduled them in December 2012. The guys were on time, professional, and worked all day. They made the floors look new again. Keeping the floors clean has been much easier. It has been almost six months and the floors still look almost new. By this time, I would have been on my hands and knees scrubbing the ground-in dirt.

Took longer than expected because of the naturally irregular surface of the terra cotta tiles but it was worth it. The work is excellent and my kitchen and hallway are gorgeous. In spite of the extra time it took, Sir Grout stuck to the original price.

Sir Grout did a great job in my bathroom. They re-grouted ceramic tile and refinished the bathtub. The work was done several months ago, but it still looks like new. They did the job meticulously. Dan, the owner, has followed up a couple of times with me, to make sure I was happy with the work.

The shower had several significant stains and it looks brand new today. They were clean, prompt and professional. I would recommend Dan to anyone who might call me. When I was concerned that they would not be able to get the stains out, because several other contractors had told me that we would need to tear out the shower completely, Dan offered to come free of charge and see if he could meet my expectations. He did and even though I knew there was going to be significant improvement, he and his company out did themselves on the finished product. Highly recommended.

In April 2012 I used a company to re-grout and seal my shower because the builders grade grout installed when we bought our house had become loose and started to fall out. I paid $375 and within 3 months, my tile looked the same and again began to crack and fall out. I attempted to have the previous company repair the work to no avail. Instead of wasting countless hours fighting this company to repair their work, I decide to look for another company to fix and repair my shower. I contacted Sir Grout who came out to my house and looked at what I needed done. They gave me several options on how to get my shower looking new again. I was provided a detailed estimate for the work which I found to be very affordable and competitive. Needless to say, I decide to use them and I'm glad I did. The next week they came to my house and steam cleaned, re-grouted and sealed my shower. It took about 4 hours from start to finish. The workers were very professional and clean. All I can say is, WOW!! The tile was bright white, all the seams were caulked and everyting was re-grouted and sealed. My shower looked brand new. I was very happy with the finished product. I would HIGHLY recommend Sir Grout to anyone looking for grout cleaning and sealing. Sir Grout even followed up with me several months later to make sure I was still satisfied with the work and offered to come out and fix anything needed. This is someting you dont often see from other companies. Well, I did not need any follow up because the quality of their work was outstanding and is still looking brand new months later. I will definitely use Sir Grout in the future. Thank you!

Dan is great to work with -- responsive in the bidding, scheduling and follow-up. This turned into a bigger job than expected because we had deferred maintenance. When it became clear that more time was needed Dan thoughtfully modified the cost of the job and completed the work in a very thorough way. The results look terrific on all three of the components -- shower stall and two bathroom floors. We will use Dan again without question.

My first impression of Sir Grout was very professional. The person I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and was able to set an appointment right away. When I met Dan, I thought he was also very friendly and professional. He took his time to inspect the work I needed done and gave a reasonable estimate. I had a written estimate in hand and a service appointment set before he left. The men who came to do the repairs arrived on time and finished early. They went over the list of things to do before starting and showed me the completed work before they left. I was very pleased with everything, but I was most impressed with a broken tile repair. I had a broken tile around the master tub and feared I would have to replace all of the tile in the bathroom if I couldn't repair it. Sir Grout was able to repair the broken tile and make it appear nearly unnoticeable. I am very happy with Sir Grout and I would recommend them to all of friends.

When they came to do the work, a new guy came every hour. I had four different people come and go for one job. The work was okay at the end, but it was ridiculous that it took so long and so many people to do the job. They admitted that they had overbooked for the day. I wish they would have just called and rescheduled. I would not recommend them.

The servicemen were here on time, explained the procedure, moved the furniture out and back, assisted me with choosing a color, cleaned up completely and explained the best way to care for my floor. They were the nicest servicemen I've ever had in my home. Two weeks after I had the floors done, we had a party, friends and family that had been at my home before thought I had a brand new floor installed. Professionalism, reliability, excellent workmanship and reasonable pricing, you get it all with "Sir Grout".

We had a disaster -- a permanent-marking art pen had exploded and sprayed around the bathroom. though it washed off the ceramic wall and floor tiles, the grout was permanently stained with dark blue. Sir Grout cleaned the floor and walls and covered the grout lines with new color. It's been 8 months, and everything still looks great. Dan carefully explained what was going to happen, and the crew that did the work was very competent. I thought the price was fair. I would definitely recommend Sir Grout.

We had a shower put in by someone that wasn't (we found out later) a very skilled person, and it wasn't put in correctly. It grew mold almost instantly. We lived with it for so long because we didn't realize that it could be fixed so effortlessly and at a reasonable cost. We finally couldn't live with it any more, and I called Sir Grout. SO glad we did. The work was great, and the cost was reasonable! It was done it one day, and the gentleman that did the work was so nice and explained everything to my husband when he was finished. We wished we did it sooner. Wow!

I called Sir Grout at the recommendation of a friend who was very pleased with their work. They were very flexible with their scheduling. The tech, Mitch, was very professional and got to work immediately. After the tile was cleaned, he patiently worked with me to find the best color seal choice (many choices!). We have been very pleased with the color and durability of the "new" grout. It has been 6 months since the work was done and it still looks brand new! I highly recommend these guys! They are professional, conscientious, do excellent work, have a good product, and follow up to insure satisfaction.

Called Sir Grout in early March to inquire about cleaning and re-caulking my shower since mold was showing up in the corners. Spoke with Dan, who I found to be quite friendly and professional. He came by about a week later and gave me an estimate to complete the work. After explaining what he needed to do to obtain the results I wanted, we agreed to the ~$550 estimate and scheduled an appointment for his technician to come complete the job. Day of appointment: Marco showed up about ten minutes early and offerred to get started or wait - whatever was convenient for us. Marco was very nice, professional, and really did a thorough job. The results look nearly the same as what you see in the pictures on Sir Grout's website - it really does make a difference. My parents are already in touch with Sir Grout, and I would not hesitate for a moment to refer friends and family in the future.

Dan & his guys did terrific work! I got 3 estimates. Dan came promptly for the estimate, and it was comparable to other places. But we went with Dan b/c he was extremely personable, made recommendations, and seemed to genuinely care about the quality of the work. Service was scheduled within 2 weeks. Alex and John came and did a great job. Alex in particular was very friendly, professional, and helpful – explaining the process and making suggestions for caulk color and giving me tips on how to maintain the appearance. They worked fast and efficiently, finishing in only 3 hours, less than the 4.5 hour estimate. When I requested, they were worked quieter while our baby napped. My only concern is that they came over 1 hour later than given start time. They called with ETA shortly before arriving. Now, 6 months later, the shower and sinks still look great with minimal cleaning, just like when first finished. There has been no need for further maintenance. Dan also followed up within 6 months to see if the work was still ok, which was very professional and considerate. Definitely recommend them!

I needed to have the caulk replaced in my bathtub as it was molding. I found Sir Grout online and called for an estimate. Dan came and did a great job evaluating and educating me on what needed to be done and I received a quote during the initial consultation. I moved forward with booking an appointment two weeks after the consultation. The morning of the appointment, Alex showed up to perform the service. We reviewed the area again and he told me that they would give me a deal on replacing the caulk on my sink area too, I went ahead and did that as well since the price was reasonable. It took Alex about an hour to complete everything and after he was done we went over all of the precautions to take to make sure the caulk settled appropriately. A day later the caulk had dried and my bathtub and sink looked brand new. I am writing this review approximately four months after the replacement and the caulk looks as good as the first day it was installed. I want to also mention that Sir Grout did offer a warranty on the caulking for a year after the installation. I doubt I need it, but that is good to know. This is a great company and I would definitely suggest using them for any bathroom caulking repairs.
