McAndrews Exteriors

John McAndrews is one of the best contractors I have ever hired. I initially contacted him because I wanted his opinion on whether I should replace my back storm door. He said no, my door was just fine and very high quality. I also wanted to replace the front storm door, and he said that if I found one I liked at Menards to call him, he would pick it up, and install it. During the course of our conversation, I had him look at the 7 windows on the front of my house. They are the original windows that came with the house. A couple were missing storms and a couple others were cracked. I asked how much it would cost to replace them. He told me $2,650 which I thought was more than reasonable, since this included the windows themselves (energy-efficient double pane with argon gas) caulking & capping the exterior. I told him on November 13 that I wanted to go ahead with this project and forget about the storm door for now since by this time I had looked at the storm doors at Menards and didn't like any of them. He said the windows would take about 4 weeks to arrive but that they might come sooner. I thought this was a reasonable time frame. The windows arrived on November 30, barely 2 weeks after he ordered them. He and two other guys came to install them this morning. They arrived right on time, at 8:45, and by 12:30 the entire project was finished. John cleaned up after himself and took care to replace the items that he had taken off my walls. And the new windows look great!
