Very unprofessional. I had a standing appointment with Design Invention for a week for this morning at 10 a.m., the time they said would accommodate their schedule. I stayed home from work this morning to be here. They called me 22 minutes before the appointment to say they were "running late." That's fine -- 10 minutes? 15 minutes? Nope. They would try to come 2 to 3 hours after the scheduled appointment.Obviously, if you can't make the initial consult on time, that doesn't say much about how a project would go. Very unprofessional.

Peter, Andrew and the team from Design Intervention did an amazing job on my complete bathroom remodel. Peter sent me to wonderful companies to look at cabinetry, tiles and countertops. I was able to gather ideas and talk to him about what would look good in my bathroom. He had great suggestions and used his experience to help me come up with a design. The team gutted the room, and never left a speck of dust or dirt anywhere. They did major plumbing in the shower area, great tile work, installed a new toilet, vanity and sink,medicine cabinet, exhaust fan and lighting. They were a really hard-working bunch. They arrived when they said they would, and worked from breakfast to dinner. They were polite and very neat. I love my new bathroom! I am having them remodel my other bathroom very soon. I highly recommend this company!

The job went great. Peter's crew did excellent work, and they did it fast and precisely. I am very happy with their work.

Peter was prompt in coming out to give me an estimate and once I accepted the remodel was quickly scheduled. Sebastian worked every day, full days- 8:00 am - 5:30/6:00 pm, and half days on Saturday. The work was messy, but they kept my home tidy. They were helpful in answering my questions about tiles, quantity of materials, etc.

Big job - after initial miscommunication (on both our parts) job started 10 days later. Inconvenient, but ultimately, doable. Very professional, but all spoke polish so communication was awkward. Peter did speak english very well. Worked out OK as he was very available for phone. Had to keep on top of debris as the electrical and plumbing guys weren't too ready to do it. Initially worried about hardwood floors in bedroom, but it was OK after I mentioned the issue. Dimitri, the guy who did most of the construction, tile, putting of fixtures, painting did a beautiful job and was very considerate. Would welcome him back again. We went from an outdated sky blue master bath to an earthtone, decade appropriate bathroom. Just beautiful now. Just love it. Review submitted by the wife, Marilyn.

Peter is very flexible. He can pick for you or let you pick your own. He gives great advice on where to shop and what to spend the money on. Work began and ended according to the outline he provided. His workers were efficient, yet paid attention to detail.

Peter was great to work with. He's very enthusiastic, talk and work fast. Very communicative via phone or email. You always know where he stands in terms of your project progress. His guys work hard, just like himself if he has to get his hands dirty and jump in. Everything went great. My only gripe is there were a few small details in terms of "perfect' workmanship around tiling that wasn't there. Example would be smudges around tight corners and lines. If you aren't looking for those imperfections, you won't notice them, but if you do, then you'll see them. I've used several different GCs and companies over the years for home renovation, his team is right up there. Overall, Design Invention is great to work with and I'd definitely use them again. Forgot to mention, Peter came back whenever I asked him to fix any imperfections that I saw after the job was completed, and he even did a house-call for me on a completely unrelated emergency w/ some leaky water. What a guy!

Peter gave an esitmate and after my wife and I purchased materials, we scheduled a start date.Peter procured the permits from the local municipality. The crew showed up on time every day. They were efficient and clean. All work was competed in a professional manner. In fact, their tile man advised that some of the wall tiles thay we had purchased were warped and he advised against installation. I am not sure if another installer would have been so conscientious. After going back and forthe with the tile company, we decided on other tile that we wound up liking better. After final inspections of plumbing and electrical, the job is complete. I can highly recommend Design Invention to anyone. Well done, Peter and crew!!

I saw the BIG Deal Bathroom Remodel for $4999 in December 2011 and thought it a good opportunity to remodel my bathroom. Before I purchased the coupon, I called Design Invention to ensure that they work in Chicago and also in a condominium block (I made the mistake of not checking before so, tip - check first before buying!) I emailed and then spoke to Peter Rymaszewski who was very responsive and polite. He met me at my place, and provided a quote the next day. He also gave me dates of when he could perform the work and it was within 4 weeks, which was perfect. I then purchased the coupon. A really great perk was that Peter organised to pick up the tiles that I had purchased at Lowes in Naperville and picked up fittings from my parents house also in Naperville. Keep in mind Design Invention is based out of Bartlett and work being performed was in Chicago - quite a trek! Work started as per date given, and the employees sent were polite and conscientious - from what I observed. I was able to come in anytime to see how work was progressing on the bathroom. It was on one of these visits that Peter showed me that he had removed the popcorn ceiling in the bathroom which gave me the idea to see if he could remove this in my entire condo. At the same time I requested that my bedroom, kitchen and small hallway be painted as well. I also wanted track lighting put up in the passage but didn't see how it would work out with the location of the electrical supply. Peter recommended a way to do it which was very helpful so I went with the suggestion. Peter provided a quote soon after and work was started simultaneously to the bathroom being finished off. At the end there were very few issues to fix - and these were fixed within 3 days of the job being completed. Overall I am very happy with the job done by Peter and his employees. I would recommend Design Invention to everyone!

I was dissapoointed. I wanted to buy the BIG DEAL and remodel my small bathroom on a budget of $5999 as advertised. I called before "BUY IT NOW" to make sure he could do it at this price. He said he would have to come out and see the job 1st. I told him it was a high rise and we had a high liability insurance, he said he deals with that all the time, and to supply him the condo rules when he came to see the job. He was looking at the tile that needed to be removed, and commented how it was set in concrete, as this building was built in the 50's. I guess removing tile from concrete is harder than dry wall, a lot harder. 2 days later he emailed that he could not do the job because he did not have enough liability insurance. So much for wishful thinking on getting an inexpensive remodel......I then looked more closely at the feedback and wondered was anyone able to get their bathrooms truly remodeled at the BIG DEAL price without paying additional?

Overall great job. I'm looking forward to using these guys on future jobs.

We purchased a Groupon-like Angie's List deal to have our basement refinished with Design Invention, but our specs did not exactly align with the offer in the deal. Peter (of D.I.) worked with us to give us all the customizations we wanted. For instance, they deal was for 200 sq. ft., one door and carpet flooring. We wanted that PLUS another 50 sq. ft., a second door, a patch of tile (for a refrigerator), and a built-in bench to conceal pipes. We also wanted a large, built-in, shelved pantry. So D.I. did all the basics from the original offer, but they also gave us all the extras we wanted at a very fair price. They handled mid-project adjustments with ease. They were on time every day and utterly nonintrusive. Our project started on the Monday of Thanksgiving week, and they were even willing to work on Thanksgiving Day if we wanted to accelerate the project. Even without doing that, they finished in the exact amount of time estimated. Peter was always extremely responsive to all our calls, concerns, requests. Would definitely use them again.

, The room was much larger than the space provided for in the Big Deal but the additional cost was added at the same discount. I also updated and added other features such as replacing the old basement windows. He was able to start the room earlier than expected and it was completed in a very timely manner. All of his workman were very nice and professional. I am very happy with the end result and would use him again.

Peter responded promptly to my request that he come out to the house for an appraisal. My square footage was more than allotted for and he told me how much extra that would be. They had a large response to their Angie's deal of the day and I waited to the last day to sign up, so Peter told me there would be a waiting time. He gave me a date they would be able to start and he also gave me websites and places to look for materials. He contacted me shortly before the start date and they began work on the day he stated. His workers arrived promptly and worked steadily throughout each day. They are hard and professional workers. They left the work area clean and neat each day. They do the work that Peter tells them to do. If you want any changes or have concerns it is best to address it to Peter. He aims to please and I found him to be very willing to make sure you are happy with the job. I am very happy with the finished product. It did end up costing more than I had initially wanted, but a lot of that was within my control. I could have purchased products which were less expensive, but I decided I wanted to upgrade on some of my purchases. They also ran into the issues with my pipes and the wet floorboard caused by the leak. I was pleased they were able to handle everything and keep the job moving smoothly. I would definitely recommend Design Invention to a friend and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Never seen such Enthusiastic hard workers, Piotre (Peter) is full of energy. A pleasure to have them in my home!

They removed the toilets and sinks and replaced them with no problems. They worked carefully and really fast and were remarkably clean. The workmanship was excellent. Peter himself picked up on the rotted floor joists before beginning and made some very good tile advice. He always answered phone calls and was cooperative when one day we needed to be away in the middle of the work week. Believe it or not it was almost painless. I have really nice looking bathrooms especially for a house of this age ( 1929) . Thanks Peter, John and Andre

They were speedy and worked hard to finish in a timely fashion, which was especially important since I only have one bathroom. Peter gave me a timetable for the work, and the job was done almost exactly according to the timetable. They covered my hardwood floor with a tarp, draped my furniture in plastic and took care to keep the dust and dirt from spreading everywhere. They followed my instructions perfectly, and offered suggestions where applicable, for example, placement of the bathroom door and light switches. I am very pleased with how everything turned out.

I had the Big Deal and added $2,000. My bathroom is truly spectacular, like something in a magazine, like many of the photos seen here on AL. I was not in a hurry to get started (vacation) and he set up a mutually agreeable time. His assistant John took two days in demolition -- getting rid of the old wall and floor tiles and the old shower. I went to work and never saw the mess. I don't know how he got rid of all that junk, but he cleaned up every afternoon. I wanted to save my vanity, toilet and light fixtures. Then I added a new door. Piotr took care of nearly everything (I had to go to a northwest suburb to choose the counter; Damian was very helpful and I am so glad I went with the "exciting" choice rather than the "safe" choice.) The job is very professional -- perfect really. But what I liked best was that Piotr was in frequent touch with me by phone, letting me know what was going on. I feel the price was fair for what they did. I definitely will use him for my other bathroom when I do it. He had to postpone a final walk through because on Halloween he had to "do the walk" with his kids. I think that was really important that he worked so hard but carved out time for his kids. Hire Piotr. He's the best.

Peter and his workers did a fabulous job. They started on time every day, cleaned up before they left in the evening, finished on time and were delightful to work with. I would very highly recommend the services of Design Inventions.

Overall it went very well. Peter was very helpful in giving suggestions but also not forcing us to do anything we weren't 100% aligned to. Everything was completely very well and his entire crew was very courteous. They dealt with hiccups and unexpected discoveries very well. Peter also is very accessible and is in constant contact with you regarding progress, decisions, suggestions, etc. Very good experience.

We purchased the Big Deal bathroom remodeling package from Design Invention based on the quality reviews the company received. Piotr contacted us within a week to view the area and supply a quote. We received the quote within 24 hours of our appointment, and it reflected exactly what we discussed during the appointment. He made good suggestions, and pointed us towards suppliers with whom he works. Given the number of Big Deal packages that were purchased, Piotr was up front about when the project would begin. He estimated 10 days for project duration. We purchased almost all the materials needed, with the exception of tile and trim and faucets. The project began one day late, but was done on time. Dmitri was the primary contractor and arrived punctually every day, sometimes working for 11 hours. He was polite, capable, clean, and shockingly tolerant of our annoying cats. The project was well-orchestrated: various contractors arrived as needed, such as for painting, lugging in a cast iron tub, and just generally checking that things were going smoothly. There was never a lull or wasted time. I emailed Piotr the Monday morning after our project finished to request follow-up on two things (a wall that needed patching and a non-functioning light), and Sebastian resolved both issues about 5 hours later. Now *that* is some response time. The quality of the work is excellent, and we're thrilled with our new bathroom. We're even more thrilled, however, to have found a contractor that delivers precisely what was promised in terms of duration, cost, and quality.

We found Peter from an Angie’s list email deal for a bathroom remodel. We were looking at a high end redesign and added a number of features to the package. Once we paid for the special deal via Angie’s list it wasn’t long before Peter proactively contacted us to set up an appointment. Peter was very detailed, answered all of our questions and gave us great advice and recommendations. It was clear to us that Peter was very experienced and professional. We were very comfortable with his knowledge of remodeling and his recommendations. Peter then provided a detailed quote what we wanted to accomplish as listed above. We set a date to begin work and Peter’s crew was punctual. Once they arrived they blocked our doorways to the rest of the house and began their demo. All debris was cleaned and removed from the site. The tile installer did a fantastic job especially considering that we wanted diagonal install of the floor tile and that we wanted all epoxy grout. Installing epoxy grout id very challenging and many installers don’t want to have anything to do with it because it is such a challenge. However these guys did a fantastic job and we know have sealed epoxy grout that will look beautify forever! The plumbers, electricians, painters, everyone did a truly professional job and the results was perfect. We couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend Peter and his crew for your remodel.
