Looking back I think purchasing the 'deal' for all the work I wanted was unwise. The contractor aspires to quick turnaround on small bathrooms and my 7 x 7 remodel job spanned 3 weeks. I was granted only a third of the material allowance noted in the deal. I had the tile and grout and purchased most other items from sources other than the big box home stores. Overall, I found communications difficult. The primary worker was skilled, quick and proud of his work. A second worker was brought in to grout and paint. He was rushed to complete which meant inadequate dry time for wall repair and no time for dust to settle after sanding. The paint job was unacceptable and a major wall patch bubbled! Also several floor tiles were chipped after this worker grouted. The second worker needed closer supervision and I wonder if the chipped floor tiles and paint job would have been acceptable to the crew had I not expressed my extreme disappointment. The primary worker returned for repairs. Now I'm seeing small cracks in grout surrounding the tub. There were two major extras for which I advocated vigorously and requested estimates after demolition. A pocket door and radiant electric floor. The door took significant carpentry skills and overall looks good. However, one side of the wall pocket is adjacent to one end of the tub. While the back of the durock seals the upper wall, the bottom of the wall was left open. The hazard is that cold air seeps up through the subfloor beneath the tub which sits over a crawl space. This oversight is aggravating because I explained several times about the uninsulated crawlspace. Heat in the floor was a critical improvement based on this condition. When the ceiling fan runs, cold air is drawn through this opening on one side of the wall pocket. I did not receive a pre-estimate for the extras after several requests. Price for the 18 sq ft radiant electric floor was too high compared to 2 other quotes. Without a pre-estimate, I could only compare the final invoice. My condo is about 950 sq ft. It was tough to live amidst construction dust. I'm sure it's easier to work when residents don't cohabitate. It would have been helpful if the floor canvas would have been rolled up for the days between work. Shaking these out once or twice over 3 weeks would have kept my family's foot traffic from spreading grime to non work zones. UPDATE JAN 15: Approx 1 month since last at my place and 6 weeks since the grout job performed by a worker hired by JHOME. Lowering ratings. Professionals would provide an estimate for extra work ahead of performing it. They would also supervise and inspect the quality of work performed by someone new to their crew. I have applied no chemicals, done no scrubbing of tile surrounding the tub and have chipped tiles as well as what look like holes in grout lines. 2 of these on the faucet wall. Is the faucet not water tight? This is why I hire "professional s"; to feel confident, but I don't trust that the grout work was performed properly.

John came the morning after we contacted him to get measurements and take pictures of our current kitchen. We had a quote later that evening. Work started about a week later. The process went well overall. My only complaint is that his crew came on a Tuesday and did the demo and install of new cabinetry and, at the end of the day, said, "We'll be back on Monday". So we effectively had an unusable kitchen for 6 days with no work happening (except for the granite man stopping in to measure). I understand that things need to happen in stages and you can't really measure for the countertops until the cabinets are in but it would have been nice if things were lined up more efficiently so we didn't have almost a week of dead time. That said, the price was excellent, as was the quality of work. The crew was respectful of our space and kept the work areas clean. We would definitely use JHome again.

He was very prompt, and returns all of my emails. I am very happy with this provider.

John and his team were great! I had the work done a few years ago after I had some sewage back-up. John and his team rehabed a bathroom that includes a completely framed shower. They removed and replaced all drywall, trim doors, etc. Additionally, they installed a new overhead garage door and opener as well as soffit and fascia around the home. Overall, the quality of work was very good. His crew were fast and courteous while in the home. John ALWAYS answers his phone when you call or he calls back within a few minutes. He is extremely responsive and takes great pride in his work. I am most impressed with the pride he takes in his work; I have one piece a fascia that has detached a couple of times and when I call John, he has somebody onsite to fix the problem within a day. Last week, I had the same issue; Jon came out onsite himself to find out why the problem was recurring. He corrected the issue and fixed the problem. John is absolutely fantastic to work with!

John and his worker were great communication polite and always on time punctual. If you don't want to waste of your time you should call J Home construction. All transactions was very smooth. Job quality was great. My old condo bathroom's door, walls were not straight. Mark fixed everything straight . He did great job. I definitely recommend J Home construction services.

Everything went smoothly, from initial contact, to the visit, and even his follow-up afterwards to see if we had questions. The project is on hold, otherwise we would have probably used him. His assessment of what needed to be done was very professional and clear, and made me feel certain that he would have done a wonderful job.

J Home delivered on all they promised to do for this project. They were on time every day with no down time to speak of. We encountered no difficulties with them during the work. Jacob did most of the work with oversight from Andy and John. When an electrical issue was encountered, they brought in an electrician to make repairs (no extra charge). Their workmanship is very high and they cleaned up well. We went back and forth on their proposal to make sure that their scope was comparable with the others we received. They were neither the cheapest nor highest cost proposal - they did a great job for the agreed upon price within the time frame they originally estimated. Can't ask for more than that.

We were really happy with the service provided. We had 2 bathrooms done, we picked everything out and the contractor picked it up from the store for us - in some cases going to multiple places if one was out of stock. We had a few set backs, but J Home worked with us to ensure we got what we wanted. They were always responsive regarding any questions we had. We would use them again.

They gave us estimates on a house for potential purchase. He was onetime, honest, and thorough.

John gave us a very fair estimate to complete the work on two of our bathrooms. Each bathroom only took one week-and with two small kids-that was such a blessing! John's worker, completely gutted both bathrooms and then rebuilt using new the materials we supplied. Each day the room was cleaned up and any tools were put away-although we gave up our garage during this time. John was very easy to get a hold of during the process. Even after a few complications, John was able to quickly resolve the issues. We are very pleased with our new bathrooms and are glad with the choice we made hiring John and his team for this project.

John was very helpful. I asked if he could come to a property to provide estimates for a few action items from a home inspection prior to us closing on the house. Items included bathroom and roof ventilation, kitchen stove hood ventilation, and basement vertical support beam replacement. He was very accommodating for schedules to could come out and provide an estimate. He was quick to check the items for repair and gave us a heads up on work that might have be unnecessary. They were quick to email a copy of the quote later that day. I have not done any of the work yet and cannot comment on work provided other than the estimate.

John came out to quote doing some siding on our home. We were matching existing siding and John was very careful to make sure he got an exact match and have us approve it. We had a window replaced and 4 skylights put in. The work was very good and they did what they said they would do. They cleaned up and took care of all the debris. John kept us informed throughout the process, when things were ordered and when they came in etc. The cost was reasonable for the work done. We are definitely planning on having them do additional work.

I got a few quotes for my house work. I did receive a few who cheaper ones too.. But the reason I chose J was for pure professionalism... The way he presented the quote (what all will be included) and his responsiveness to my questions made me pick him.. His guy was very hardworking and extremely fast... I would surely recommend it to anyone..

The overall experience was wonderful from the start. John is very punctual along with his employees. I was unsure of exactly what I wanted to be done in the bathroom but I showed john a couple of images of how I wanted things to look. He put everything together for us and his workers did a fantastic job. The job was completed in the amount of time that I was told from the start and everything was left spotless.

I interviewed several contractors before choosing J.Home. John presented himself as the most knowledgeable about structural repairs needed, functionality & attractiveness.J.Home turned out to be the perfect choice. Knowing I was on a fixed budget, John professionally guided me through many decisions.I visited the job site several times & usually found John there, taking a active roll in supervising the work.The project was completed in the time frame & passed all building inspections. John takes great pride in his work & deservedly so.

The end result of the project was good. I feel the estimate was off project wise. They were pretty flexible and accommodating to what was needed.

We called a few companies from Angie's List for estimates for our basement. Out of the contractors, John seemed the most knowledgable with the process of going through the insurance company and was the most confident in completing the repairs. Dealing with a new contractor can always be a nightmare, but John was always prompt, answered all questions, and always addressed concerns with a sense of urgency. It took about 6 weeks to completely gut and redo the entire basement. this included new drywall and ceilings, some tile work, canned lighting, carpeting and all the finish work. The quality of work at its core is excellent. Some of the finish work could have been slightly better but was still very good. Overall, I would feel confident recommending this company to anyone. The basement looks great, and the people that performed the work I felt comfortable having in my home.

The work went well and looks good. They started on time every day. It took a little longer than expected because the wallboard mud dried slowly, but it was a rainy time. With the tear out and the wallboard it was messy but they kept it mostly contained and cleaned up daily. The electrical wiring is functional and safe, but we've had some popped GFIs. There were 2 bathrooms and a bedroom on that circuit originally, and they left it that way. The code has changed since 40 years ago and I will need to pull additional wires to fix that.

I wanted some major remodeling done on my main floor: office, bedroom, bath, and kitchen/ dinning. J. Home Construction Services provided quite a reasonable quote and had outstanding communication right from the start, which made me much more comfortable through out the whole project. They were very professional on the job and finished right on schedule with my house looking better then ever. I will surely use them again in the future.

John came out to my house and helped me design exactly what I wanted for my back deck and upstairs bathroom. He showed up right when he said he would which was a breath of fresh air, after dealing with trying to get quotes from some other punctually challenged contractors. I have previously worked with J. Home on two projects, and I will continue using his services for any home improvements I might need. Both the remodeling of the bathroom and construction of the deck are of outstanding quality. They also managed to stay within my budget while attaining the look I want, I couldn't ask for more.

Very pleased with the service I received from J Home Construction, Inc. on remodeling my basement. Not only was it quality work but it was also timely. The owner, John is very friendly and makes you comfortable right from the first time you meet. They understand homeowner needs and wants, and they make sure they leave you satisfied. After the job was done they took care of all cleaning and I was left with a new beautiful basement. I would recommend them to anyone I know. Greg
