We recently purchased commercial grade carpeting and padding for our home from this store. They did not have the carpeting in stock and had to order from the factory. We paid an initial installment of $800.00. Once the carpet arrived there installers came to install the new carpeting. They first removed the old carpet and padding; installed the new padding and began to install the new carpet. Because of the size and layout of our rooms it was necessary for there to be 3 seams in the carpet. We noticed during the process of installing the carpet that the seams we done very poorly (you could see them from across the room) and they were not even cut straight so they appeared very uneven; not straight at all. Just plain ugly! In several areas in the middle of the room the installers had torn holes where they had tried to stretch the carpet. It was very visible and there was no way we were going to accept this quality of work. At this time we contacted our bank and placed a stop on our initial payment and contacted the owner of the business expressing our dissatisfaction with the quality of the work being done. We asked him to personally view the way the work was being done. The owner of the business came out the next morning to have a look at the job. He indicated that the carpeting we had purchased was difficult to install and that this was the way it was going to have to look; holes and all. We were not satisfied with this so we instructed them to remove the carpeting and they did so. They indicated that all we owed him for at this time was the padding. We also told them to remove the padding. They chose not to remove the padding and left in a huff. The owner did not try to resolve the issue at all and has since sent a $300.00 bill for the padding stating that he would turn us over to collections if we did not pay for this. We have since purchased the exact same carpeting from another retailer and have had it laid. The installer did a beautiful job with all of the seams. You can t even tell that there is a seam. Oh; buy the way it was half the price of Magic valley floor covering. Tried to rip us off as well! I will never do business with these people again!
