Description of Work: They provided a firehose speed connection and a mop bucket as the limit. All for $50...unless you overfill that mop bucket by any amount for 3 consecutive months then it doubles.

Description of Work: I purchased my own equipment but their over the phone service to set it up was easy and helpful. Be patient if your not tech savvy a good tip is to not be cheap if you buy your own equipment (modem) the more money you invest in it now the longer you won't have to worry about it. A good modem for example is about $70-150. Internet speeds keep getting faster so the modem needs to be able to keep up for a while. Best of luck! :D

They have an office with people in it. If you want to know something, you just go to their office and they will knock themselves out in order to tell you what you need. I am an older person and some of the stuff is hard for me so I just go to their office and they tell me everything.

The installation was fine, and the service was fine at the beginning. It got gradually worse. It dropped a lot more than it should. Maybe twice a night, which is awful. The wifi on it was treacherous at best. Just having your device on wifi right next to the router cut the speeds in half, and having it up stairs made it close to impossible to watch a video in just 720p. I tried to get a hold of them, but they put you on hold. The only response I had from them is when i tweeted to their twitter, and it took them almost a week to respond to me. Overall, Cable One would be out of business in almost any other region of the US, but they are lucky because they are the only company to offer solid upload speed at somewhat affordable prices. Capitalism needs to fix itself and get some good companies here!!!!

It took just a minute or two to speak with a live technician, and the technician understood the problem and what to do and was very patient in walking me through the process of reconnection. Whenever I've had to call for technician support the experience has been similar - a minimum amount of time required and the problem solved with very nice, very knowledgeable individuals.

Quality of basic T.V. channels was often poor. Several channels were dropped part-way through service. Fox HD channel would frequently blackout for seconds in the middle of a program (e.g. SuperBowl). All of this poor quality cable T.V. service cost a sizable $25.00 per month. Not a good value when similar channels can be received over the air. Internet was reliable and worked as advertised.

I started with them four or five months ago. They did free installation and gave me a three month introductory rate. They were competitive with the other internet provider we had and it is a faster speed. I don't notice a huge difference on streaming, but I am satisfied with it.

I had Cable One at a previous house and was happier with them than Qwest/Centurylink. When I moved into my new house I checked around to see if there were other options out there and found that Cable One is really the only company that offers 50mbps speed. Most people I spoke with were happy with Cable One as well. The wait time to have your internet set up is longer than it should be (two weeks) but it worked out ok in my situation. They said they would be to my house between the hours of 8am-12pm and they showed up at exactly 8am. The tech was quick and professional. I would recommend Cable One over any other ISP in the Pocatello/Chubbuck area. Internet speed has been good, I don't love the monthly price but you get what you pay for.

I wanted fast internet and that required cable. They were professional and courteous. Their lower rate for only 3 months is kind of chintzy. The speeds seem to be as advertized. The only real problem was getting them to install. Their wait tie was 1 week. So I waited the week and accidentally left my phone in the other room so I didn't hear their call. They tried twice while i was in the other room. About a half hour later I got my phone and found their messages. They were very polite but guess what? I had to wait another week, take time off work and be tied to the phone from 8-5 the day of their service. I am glad their installation policy helps them. It just just causes me pain and costs money. When I asked at work about Cableone I only found 1-5 persons happy with their overall service when they used cable. This compares with 5 of 5 happy with the DSL provider.

We were to set up service with them. They are very informative and kind to deal with. We ended up cancelling service and going with another company (husbands request), so can not say how the internet is, but customer service was great.
Description of Work: Set up provided for internet.... then we went with another company. They were still wonderful to deal with, and I would use them in a heartbeat - because of the kindness they showed.

The install was quick and the tech was professional and nice to deal with. Service is never as fast as advertised and occasionally is non responsive for a minute or two.
Description of Work: Installation of 50mbps internet service. Tech ran a line from the source to my house. Ground was frozen so the line was left along my fence and house to be buried when the ground thaws. Tech installed jack in my kitchen and set up the modem I provided.

I do not own a television but I depend on the Internet, and I need a local phone (my cell is from out of state), so in July 2011 when I moved to Pocatello I signed up with Cable One for Internet and phone services. I got a two-year contract with an introductory price and was told that the regular price would be about 10% higher. They talked about the and quot;regular priceand quot; and mentioned the 10% but I couldn't find the price printed. Not surprising--this was a lie. After one year my rate went up by 25%. Not only that, but for the first six months after I moved I had absolutely terrible service. My system went out about every 4-6 weeks, necessitating at least 30 minutes on the phone with tech support, disconnecting the modem and all wires, and having them do some procedures from their office. Sometimes the phone dief while I was speaking--for a few minutes I could hear the other party but they couln't hear me. I had technicians to the house at least twice since moving in. Finally in December the technician said that she had found and repaired a break in the wire outside in the neighborhood. Since then the system hasn't completely crashed, but often the call quality is very poor, like a cell phone that is barely in range. This happens when I am speaking with my mother, who only has a land line, so I know that the problem is not coming from a caller's cell. According to the price list that was sent to me in August, the rate for my services should be no more than $84 plus tax. However, my monthly fee is $98 plus tax. I have not been able to get a good explanation for the difference. Other companies in the area charge around $70 per month for the same services. Adding insult to injury, I had them send me a copy of my original contract, and they sent it postage-due 45 cents. The original contract did not mention the price to which my rate would increase--just the vague and quot;our regular published price,and quot; which does not exist in any location that a regular human being can find it. Also, my signature is just on one page, so I couldn't prove that the pages they sent me really were or were not what I had signed. While the tech and customer support staff that I have dealt with are all helpful and professional, and their service techs come on time, it appears to me that the underlying practices of this company are deceptive and perhaps even dishonest. I will not be using them again.
Description of Work: The amount spent (above) is my monthly charge for telephone and internet service. I do not have a TV. I got Cable One when I moved to Pocatello in the summer of 2011 and moved it to my new home in July 2012. The quality of my phone and Internet service has been terrible. I have made many service calls and have had the technicians out to my house at least twice after the installation. For months my service would crash while I was using it; I have had hours of work lost because I was using an on-line program at the time of the crash. I have also lost numerous phone calls. Since that problem was fixed in December I have not had crashes, but I have had the Internet freeze a few times, and the quality of my phone calls is very low. Cable One has not been able to completely rectify these problems.

I had new cable wire installed into my study room so I could hook up my new cable-one Internet and the installation itself wasn't the problem it's cable-ones horrible customer service and Internet service! TG862G model make of AARIS modem has crashed my hard drive and caused so much interference that I'm unable to use my printer! This just recently happened and I am dealing with them today! This is my second modem, same model the first one was burning up and smoking! I have researched and read horrible reviews with this particular modem and from the recent poor customer service and trouble I have had I am giving them an F in both customer service and Internet service! I've had tons of viruses, slow connection's and interference since I have had their service. We actually bundled our internet, phone, and cable, so now we have no phone or internet as the phone must work through the computer! Our cable tv service has been good but as far as any other services I DO NOT RECOMMEND Cable One! This has been my experience and I felt I should let others know before they end up with no computer and a whole lot of headache! Thank-you Delilah Ramirez I felt I should update this review after 5 and a half years, I still do feel that Cableone customer service is not at all friendly and can actually be extremely rude but now 5 and a half years have passed and technology has improved, so has the modems for internet service. My internet service has been increasingly improving as I have also updated and invested in a new computer system, my family has always had Cableone for television service and for many years had cable one's home phone service. Our home phone is now with our cellular provider which we've not encountered any problems at all. I must not give Cableone an F overall, I was pretty upset that day and despite what occurred I must acknowledge that our services with Cableone have not all been bad nor have they given us a lot of problems, we still have internet and cable service with Cableone and since then everything has improved.

The service generally works pretty well and the do get a technician out if there is a problem. The thing that makes me very angry is their new policy of a 50 gig data cap (100 gig if you bundle, with a freaking home phone and tv). Even the cell phone carriers give their customers a 250 gig data cap. The fifty gig is so people will not give up the cable tv to watch shows and movies online and seems to me to be typical of the corporate BS that is going on these days. I gave them the D's because of the data cap, which is as far as I know the worst in the industry. Why does every communications company insist on a home phone in their bundles? Lots of people have no need or desire for a home phone.

It's slow sometimes, but it depends on the day and how many people are using it. We are probably going to switch because there are so many other connections, so it's slow for all of us using it; once there were 6 of us using it. It's not really their fault; it's just more of us on their internet. They are pretty good about responsiveness. I would use them again if I had fewer roommates probably, because they do have fast internet.
