The first day they showed up, they drove their suburban through our yard, dropped off all their tools in a pile, then climbed back into their van to take a nap while their kids, yes, they brought their kids, played in our yard. We were not home, but our daughter was visiting and witnessed this. Over the course of three weeks, their employee would continue this practice. When we finally got tired of this behavior, we contacted the owner, who backed his man up profusely, saying that he was a professional and whatever he's doing is what he's supposed to be. Finally a crew showed up and about a week later the pipes were all in and the job supposedly done. There was water coming out for sure, but there were valve boxes in the middle of the yard, placed sporadically about. The water lines were crisscrossed over each other, one even went OVER a valve, pressing down on it so hard that the valve was already bending and cracking. The lines were reduced from 1 inch to 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch in several places and then increased again within inches, the lines went in spirals or were bent so drastically they were kinked. In most places the pipes were placed so shallowly that we could literally dust off the dirt and rip them out of the ground with our bare hands. We know this because my husband, our soon-to-be son-in-law, and a few of our farm workers spent all day ripping it all out of the ground to put in an entirely new system. We had paid $4,000 already, and when the owner showed up and saw all the piles of destroyed valves, cracked tubing, twisted pipes, he said our warranty was void and that we still owed him another 4 grand. We paid it just to get him and his junk off our property. We have contracted another company to redo our entire lawn.
