Joe Dunn was an acquaintance of my family for years and being in Real Estate, I had referred many people to him who had used his service. When it came to my own job, he was late every morning, and left early every day. He told me he works from 7-5, but there was never a day he was there before 8 or there after 3. He said it would take approx 3 days to do the work and it took 2 1/2 weeks because he kept leaving my job to go finish others, mostly his builders that he told me was his "bread and butter". Apparently my business was just not that important, even after all the years of referrals. I was having him do the work, so that it could be done quickly and we could move into the new house. Instead we had to live around the mess for that 2 1/2 week timeframe. The paint he used was low grade and inexpensive - a year later and all of our trim needs to be touched up, a lot of it just needs redone - when he sprayed the doors, he took them to another location and brought them back wet, so they stuck together and had to be touched up with a brush. Parts of the ceiling paint showed through I had to do the touch up myself. It would have been so much less stress for me to to have done the work myself. I had given him a key to our home so he could come and go as he needed and not worry about our schedules, in hopes the job would get done quickly...then, it took almost 2 months after he was done to return the house key. I'll paint it myself next time, or find someone who truly cares about my business and the end product they leave me with. After the interior of the home, fiasco, we decided not to have him do the garage or the exterior.
